Dr. Gary Monson was born in Nebraska and has been a Chicago resident since 1983. Dr. Monson received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln followed by his D.D.S. degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed an additional year of residency training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago before entering private practice in the Chicago area.Dr. Monson believes in pursuing educational opportunities to keep his skills current. This provides exposure to new technologies and techniques for enhanced patient care.
Dr. Monson is actively working to restore a Blue Star Memorial Highway Garden in Chicago to honor veterans. In addition to gardening he enjoys cycling, snow skiing, travel and appreciating all the great opportunities Chicago has to offer. And, almost forgot, Nebraska football!

Hi Doctor,it's Samantha!Hi Everybody who is thinking about to find the right dentist . I highly recommend this place. My wisdom tooth was bothering me pretty bad , but I was scared of doing any kind of surgery ,even though it's just remove it,probably someone think it just a small surgery, that's why I waited until almost a year to remove it .This place is so clean and everything is really professional!From the doctor fist warm welcome to entire surgery is done,everything ,every step is so smooth ! I didn't even notice that doctor has done removed my tooth until he told me that my tooth was removed,cause the entire process was so professional,fast and smooth! I don't know how to say it, I feel like I am so lucky to meet doctor here.Also I believe that good doctor should been known by everybody ! Especially this kind of doctor who is kind ,nice ,friendly and professional! Entire process is so peaceful! Just like this place!If you ever have any problems of your tooth,this is the right place to go!

I had a quick wisdom teeth consultation here. This is a clean and sanitary place that follows CDC guidelines. Dr. Gary was friendly, professional and knowledgeable in the dental field. I would recommend this place for people who do not have Medicaid insurance and need a local dentist in Edgewater/Uptown neighborhood.

I've avoided dentists like the plague for the past 15 years. Gary was a true professional from start to finish. For the first time in my life I am not dreading the dentist. Perhaps my next appointment will be the first 6 month checkup I've ever actually gone to. It's worth noting Gary has done a great job minimizing contact and keeping everything COVID free! If I could give 10 stars I would.

My dentist of 25+ years retired and I was apprehensive about going to a new dentist. I delayed a while, and after reading many reviews about Balmoral Dentistry and Dr. Monson, I made an appointment. I'm truly happy about the decision! Dr. Monson is fabulous, gentle & very knowledgeable. Office is beautiful! I'll be referring my friends and real estate clients with total confidence.
