Gary Dudar DDS is a Escondido based family dentist practice that treats patients of all ages. We are committed to delivering the highest quality dental care and do so using advanced dental equipment. Dr. Gary Dudar was born in Southern California and spent his early years in Downey, CA. After graduating from San Gabriel Adventist Academy he attended first Pacific Union College near Napa. Afterwards, he transferred to Loma Linda University La Sierra campus in Riverside California for the next two years. Having completed the requirements for admission to dental school, Dr. Dudar applied a year early and was accepted at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He graduated in 1986 and received his bachelors degree in the same year. He moved to the North San Diego county town of Vista in 1987, where he started his first dental practice experience in a group practice. He later purchased dentistry in Escondido in 1988 where his practice is located today. In addition to his California Dental License, Dr. Dudar also holds a Certificate from the United States Dental Institute, a five year program for Orthodontics and Orthopedics. However, his main focus has remained general family practice.

Severe and sudden toothaches are another reason people in California end up needing an emergency dentist. We can examine teeth and determine what is causing the pain. One possibility is gum disease, which can cause the gums to recede, exposing the tooth and roots. Both can lead to intense pain and require emergency treatment. We do not want patients of Gary Dudar DDS to experience oral pain and will do our best to treat you right away so that you can remain comfortable.
If a tooth infection is left untreated for a long period of time, it can lead to a dental abscess. This is extremely painful. An abscess is a major tooth infection that can settle into your jawbone and the floor of your mouth. If it does, oral surgery may be necessary in order to remove the infection. We can let you know if we see an abscess during your dental exam with Dr. Dudar.
We can help patients to stay comfortable and live a life that is pain-free. If you visit Gary Dudar DDS experiencing pain, we will identify what is creating the issue and the treatment options available for dealing with it. Often, we will also prescribe medication to help with the pain. This can prevent you from feeling discomfort while your tooth is being treated and at home. You may also want to apply a cold compress or ice pack to the area in order to reduce or prevent swelling.
When a tooth is infectedAs an emergency dentist, we will assess the situation and inform you of where the infection is and the best way to quickly treat it. Our job is to keep you comfortable, healthy and pain-free. Patients trust us to remove infections and keep their teeth and gums in excellent oral health. Whether fixing a general cavity or treating a dental abscess, we make it possible for a tooth to be free from infection and pain. We can resolve the issue in a way that keeps patients comfortable during any necessary procedures.
A. Find the tooth and rinse it gently in cool water. (Do not scrub or clean it with soap use only water!) If possible, replace the tooth in the socket immediately and hold it there with clean gauze or a wash cloth. If you can't put the tooth back in the socket, place the tooth in a clean container with cold milk, saliva or water. Get to the Emergency Dentist immediately. The faster you act, the better your chances of saving the tooth.
A. Contact your Dentist immediately. Quick action can save the tooth, prevent infection and reduce the need for extensive dental treatment. Rinse the mouth with water and apply cold compresses to reduce swelling if the lip also was injured. If you can find the broken tooth fragment, place it in cold milk or water and bring it with you to the dental office.
A. Call our office immediately. Over-the-counter children's pain medication, dosed according to your child's weight and age, might ease the symptoms. You may apply a cold compress or ice wrapped in a cloth to the face in the area of the pain, but do not put heat or aspirin on the sore area.

I have had 3 visits now at Dr. Dudar's office and they have all been great! I put off the dentist for several years as I knew my teeth needed work beyond just a cleaning and to be honest, the fear of anesthetic shots before work gets done deterred me from going in. But, specifically, the other doctor in the office (Dr. Heather) knew of this fear and was extremely gentle with the whole procedure! Dr. Heather went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and she was even sweet enough to tell me a couple stories during the whole thing to distract me. Worked like a charm. Minimal to no pain! She did so awesome with my deep cleaning. Furthermore, Grace at the front desk was very helpful and the assistants that worked with me (didn't catch their names) were also very awesome. So grateful to find this practice. 5 stars!!!

Dr Dudar and his entire staff are absolutely top notch! Best dental office from comfort to quality work. I recommend Dr Dudar to everyone I know. The dental hygienist is amazing. She somehow removes all my coffe and tea stains every time. I appreciate all the staff and their hard work. They are kind and funny. The whole office is super personable. Can't say enough good things. It's a great dental experience!

Dr. Gary Dudar is an excellent Dentist. He is personable, knowledgable, professional and very caring. His office staff is exceptional! Shout out to Grace and Sheila for always making me feel so welcome and taken care of. Heather, Dr. Dudar's Hygienist is probably one of the best I have ever encountered. She is all about making you feel comfortable and creating a safe and pain free environment. Seriously...pain free! Probably one of the gentlest Hygienist have ever had. I have such faith in Dr. Dudar and his staff that I have referred my entire family who are all now patients. So if you are on the fence about making an appointment, jump down and make the call.
