I enjoy my profession as a general dentist. After more than 30 years, I still find my work interesting and rewarding. How many people can say that about their work? Having the opportunity to give someone a smile they can use every day of their life, while enabling themto eat a healthy, nourishing, life-prolonging diet, is something for which I am truly thankful.

I began my practice in 1982 and have worked in Wayne ever since. I love dentistry as a profession because I enjoy working with people. I learn so much from their unique experiences: some are restaurant foodies so I get first hand reviews ofall the new restaurants on the Main Line, some are into bicycling, so I learn from them what new trails or bike gear is out there. I have a patient who owns two comic book stores, another owns a coin collecting store, and yet another- a garage door business. If they play golf, well we could stay on that topic forever!

What it comes down to is building trusting relationships with the people in my community. Its why ours is a referral-based practice. Our patients know theyll receive the best possible treatment from people who genuinely care about their health and well-being.

I grew up in Bucks County and graduated from Council Rock High School. I completed my undergraduate education at Penn State, graduating with Highest Distinction.Then, I went on to graduate from Temple University Dental School, and was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

One of the most interesting aspects of dentistry is keeping up on the latest tools and technology. As a child, I was always good at model building. I liked intricate, precision things like a watch or a well-made model train set. I have always appreciated cool gadgets, and dentistry certainly has lots of cool gadgets and fancy equipment! Over the years, I have attended all avenues of advanced dental education from local study club meetings to international multi-day conferences. Through interaction and collaboration with other dental practitioners around the country, our combined years of experience often lead to new innovations and products in dentistry.

I am a firm believer that you learn something new every day. Learning something new in dentistry not only excites me and makes my life better but it allows me to make my patients lives better as well.

My team at Strafford Dental is exceptional. They are all very intelligent and all have great personalities. Our front desk staff are great; they are warm and welcoming to our patients, but also firm and savvy when working with insurance companies to maximize coverage for our patients. Our hygienists and assistants are highly trained, skilled professionals who, at the same time, are very warm and compassionate individuals who put patients at ease with their calm, friendly demeanor.

I am passionate about family time. Any opportunity when we can all be together, whether it is a simple meal at home or a week long family vacation is a treasure to me. Since my children have grown theirlives havebecome more complicated and family time together seems more elusive and therefore even more precious.

When I am not working at the office or with my family, I like to play golf in the summer and ski in the winter. I have been president of the Philadelphia Dental Golfing Association for thepast ten years and am a member of the Alphorn Ski Club.

Being active in my community has always been a no-brainer for me. Not only is it simply more fun to live in a close, caring community, it is safer, healthier, and usually less expensive. I have been a member of the Wayne Presbyterian Church Ushers Association for more than 30 years, having also served as a deacon for a period of time. I value the opportunity to volunteer with and contribute to the following organizations: the American Red Cross, Philabundance, Habitat for Humanity, Willistown Conservation Trust, and the Foundation for Great Valley, as well as the other local community programs.

A smile is the most important thing you can wear. A smile can start a friendship, impress on a job interview, and brighten someones day as well as your own! That, to me, is the most exciting thing about my work! I look forward to welcoming you to our office and brightening your day, and your life, with a smile!

As a new dental professional, I wake up every day genuinely excited to go towork. Having devoted a good majority of my life to becoming a dentist, it is a dream come true to finally get to practice. In addition, I get to practice with my father at Strafford Dental Associates. This is the place where I basically grew up. I was often brought to the office as a child. In fact, we have patients who remember holding me when I was one week old. So one could say I was a dentist in training since I was born. After all these years I could not be more excited to contribute to this practice and this wonderful community as a General Dentist.

I grew up in Malvern and went to school at Great Valley School District. Since Middle School, I began dreaming of becoming a Dentist and joining the family practice. In addition to my studies, I enjoyed playing lacrosse. Upon graduation from Great Valley High School, I had the opportunity to continue both my academic and lacrosse careers at Villanova University. I graduated from Villanova making the Deans List every semester, being chosen to the Big East All-Academic Team every year, and being a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

After Villanova, I had the pleasure of attending the University of Pennsylvania of Dental Medicine and being a member of the oldest and most prestigious dental fraternity, Delta Sigma Delta. At the University of Pennsylvania, I felt as though I was constantly surrounded by some of the best minds and technology in the field. From the world-renowned faculty who were relentlessly working to enhance my knowledge, to the students who will carry the dental profession into the future, to the always-changing array of the most up-to-date dental equipment, I can truly say I got an education that is second to none.

In addition to the dental profession, my family and friends are the most important part of my life. I believe that relationships shape who you are as a person more than anything else, so surrounding yourself with genuine people is essential.

Aside from my friends and family, I love sports, but would rather be playing than watching. I jump at any opportunity to get outside and throw a football or lacrosse ball around, play a round of golf, or hit the slopes.

Two of my other favorite things are more or less universally loved, and they would be food and vacation. From cookouts to intricate recipes, and hole in the wall places to critically acclaimed restaurants, I love trying pretty much anything. The same thing goes for hotels and locations. So if you have tried a great recipe or restaurant lately, or visited an amazing destination, I would love to hear about it.

From an early age, the importance of helping out in the community was instilled in me and to be honest, I have always found it enjoyable. From helping out at the Paoli Presbyterian Church during the holiday season, to working closely with the athletes at the Villanova Special Olympics, to simply coaching youth lacrosse programs, being able to make other people happy or help them improve is a truly rewarding experience.

Being cross-trained allows me to be able to do everything from scheduling and filing insurance claims to assisting Dr. Gartner as well as our dental hygienists. I enjoy building relationships with our patients. Being in a general dentistry practice is unique in that we have generations of family members coming to our practice. It is such a pleasure to catch up with them and learn about the new events, interests, and milestoneshappening in their lives. Dr. Gartner is a fantastic dentist, and I love working with each and every member of our team.

In addition to providing hygiene cleanings and exams, I also monitor my patients periodontal health and give homecare instructions. Ive been with this office for over 25 years, joining the team nearly ten years after I graduated from Temple University School of Dental Hygiene. I really enjoy being able to get patients to understand the importance of and achieve oral health. At our office, we have a laid back yet professional atmosphere with a team that is always trying to do what is best for each patient. Each day is truly a pleasure!

I graduated from State University in May of 1973 and have worked in New York City, Long Island, and Pennsylvania. I joined this team in 1993. My job entails making sure my patients are well educated in the care of their teeth and having a clean and healthy mouth. I love people and I am grateful for having been able to provide a service that requires a great deal of patience and understanding to improve ones oral health. We are a team that works well together. Ours is a confident, caring, and highly skilled office that meets all the criteria to educate our patient on good oral health.

I have been married for 29 years and have two daughters who are both married. My oldest daughter blessed us with three grandchildren,Adalyn, Aiden, and Austin.I am active with Methacton Community Theater. I have occasionally been on stage, but prefer the behind the scenes activities. I sat on the Methacton Community Theater board for many years and was the Publicity Chairman for about 12 years. Most of all, I love producing shows and hope to continue will all aspects of community theater.

My job is to make sure everything in the office runs smoothly from day to day so Dr. Gartner and the rest of our staff can concentrate onwhats really important: our patients! I can usually be found at the front desk, but also help to maintain the office and assist Dr. Gartner and the team when needed. Since we see our patients every six months or so, I really enjoy catching up with all thats happened in their lives. Our patients are a great group of very interesting people!
