Dr. Salvaggio graduated from L.S.U. School of Dentistry in 1989 and is a graduate of Tulane University where his primary subjects of interest were science and studio art. Since the practice of dentistry is to a certain degree an expression of both of these disciplines, the decision to enter the dental profession was an easy one for Dr. Salvaggio.
In addition to the completion of numerous hours of professional continuing education, Dr. Salvaggio has also refined his artistic skills by participating in various studio art classes, including ceramics and blown glass.
Dr. Joseph J. Collura has worked at the forefront of cosmetic dentistry for more than 30 years, providing top quality care and brighter smiles to patients all over the New Orleans region. He has been honored with a guest faculty position with the prestigious Scottsdale Center for Dentistry. The Center, led by world-renowned faculty, provides the latest in programs, seminars and hands on training.
A graduate of LSU School of Dentistry, Dr. Collura has helped hundreds of patients achieve their dreams of the ultimate smile. As a Cosmetic Dentist, his goal is to develop a winning relationship based on the individual needs of each patient offering the best in cosmetic and restorative procedures. In order to accomplish this Dr. Collura has participated in extensive continuing education programs for over 30 years. His course work includes: Cosmetic Dentistry, Advanced Restorative Dentistry, Implant Restorations, Root Canal Therapy, Non-Surgical Gum Care and Prevention, & Treatment of Bite Related Problems. Fantastic Dentist! Dr. Salvaggio is just what I've been looking for. Very compassionate. He explained everything he was doing in great detail. Very thorough and I was so pleased with what he did for me. I highly recommend him.

A few months ago, I asked Dr. Salvaggio for his recommendation on fixing a chipped front tooth. He recommended shaving the tooth as it was slightly longer than the neighboring tooth. He promised me it would not be noticeable whatsoever, so I agreed. While working on the tooth he said, "I know I know, what is this guy doing to my tooth." I was disgusted at his remark, but trusted his judgment nonetheless. I now have a front tooth noticeably shorter than the other. Friends & family have noticed the difference, and I'm pursuing a remedy with a different dentist. I would not recommend Dr. Salvaggio based on his remark or his work.

I had gone to the same dentist my entire life until I moved to New Orleans. Was very apprehensive about going to someone new, but the office staff here were friendly, accommodating and super sweet. Dr. was quick and communicated continually. Which is great if you experience dental anxiety. Highly recommend!!

I have been seeing Dr. Salvaggio for a number of years for everything from routine dental care to implants. Dr. Salvaggio takes the time to help patients explore various options and to make decisions designed to ensure long-lasting oral health. He is great in emergencies, as I discovered when I fell and broke two front implants. In short order, Dr. Salvaggio repaired the teeth and I left his office smiling. Five stars for Dr. Salvaggio and his staff.

Dr Salvaggio is amazing. He takes his time to explain everything and is very patient He is a definition of an incredible dentist and he literally gave me back my smile. His assistant Leslie is superb as well. She is passionate, communicative and make the process easy I highly recommend this entire team

Dr. Salvaggio and his staff have been taking care of my teeth for over twenty years. Leslie helps to create an office environment is warm and inviting and you feel so comfortable as soon as you walk in the door. There's soft music playing in the background, icy lemon water if you're thirsty, and paraffin wax hand treatments if you want the total spa experience. My usual visits are for cleanings and x-rays, and his hygienist, Angie, is a sweetheart. She's gentle but thorough and she talks you through everything she does. On my last visit, I also had to get a tooth bonded so Crystal was there working with Dr. Gary and they work so well together that you just feel at ease, which is great when shots are involved. The procedure was quick and painless. I was eating dinner within a few hours, and the result is beautiful. I wouldn't trust my smile to anyone else.

His staff is very professional, yet sincerely personable, and they consistently go out of their way to assure a pleasant and productive visit every time. He has provided extensive services for me, including large span bridge work, root canals, and professional consultation for oral and periodontal surgery, and I have never had an uncomfortable or painful experience under his care. It's hard to find good doctors, and once I find one, I stick with him/her, which is why I have been a patient for close to 20 years.
