Dr. Travis Garnto grew up in Wrightsville, Georgia. He received both a bachelor of science and a master of science in biology from Georgia College and State University. Before attending dental school, Dr. Garnto worked as an Environmental Consultant. He then completed his doctorate at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. During his education at the Dental College of Georgia, Dr. Garnto earned coveted awards for distinction in research, ethics, and for his artistic achievements in cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Garnto has a passion for dentistry and loves giving his patients a beautiful smile. He enjoys listening to and collaborating with his patients of all ages to provide the best care, and always having the patients best interest at heart.
Dr. Garnto is currently a member of the Georgia Dental Association, American Dental Association, Eastern District Dental Society, Clarke County Dental Society, Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy for Sports Dentistry, and the American Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Garnto believes that learning is a lifelong commitment and routinely attends advanced continuing education courses.
Dr. Garnto resides in Oconee County with his wife, Susan, and their daughter, Laney. He acquired the practice of J. David Brown, D.M.D. in May of 2019. This practice has been serving the Watkinsville-Oconee community since 1976. Dr. Garnto loves being a part of this great community, and continuing Dr. Browns traditions of providing the highest level of service and quality care to his patients. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and being with his family.
He received his Associate of Arts degree from Oxford College, his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia, and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. He completed a comprehensive post-graduate program at the Pankey Institute and a two-level cosmetic dentistry continuum at Louisiana State University.
Dr. Brown maintains memberships with numerous prestigious organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Georgia Academy of Dental Practice, and the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Brown served as president of the Georgia Eastern District Dental Society from 1988 to 1989. He also served as president of the Clarke County Dental Society. The Georgia Dental Association named him an Honorable Fellow in 1990, and he currently serves as a member of its House of Delegates.

Wonderful experience going to this practice for a cleaning. I was provided an appointment the same week I called! The staff was both kind and professional. Was even given a referral because I am moving. My teeth have not been this clean in years. Highly recommended.

We had a family dentist that we loved for 20 years. Our 6 year old needed a filling and our previous dentist had a hard time connecting with him and making him feel safe. We went in the spring for a cleaning and felt right at home. Last week, my son got his fillings and my 4 year old got hers done too. They allowed me to be in the room with my children and hold their hand the whole time. Dr. Garnto and the entire staff were so friendly and patient that we didn't have any anxious episodes with either one of them. We are so grateful to have found Garnto Family Dental and have already recommended them to many friends!

Dr. Garnto and his entire staff are absolutely amazing. I'd recommend his office to anyone with dentition needs. Whether you're new to town, unhappy with your current provider or are simply in need of establishing dental care for the first time, this is such a welcoming office with a wonderful dentist. Also, services are affordable but you're getting the best of care which is always what I myself am looking for when it comes to any medical need.
