A prosthodontist is a highly trained specialist in oral care. While most dentists receive their education and training in four years, prosthodontists like Dr. Garine and Dr. Boza go above and beyond the basic requirements, pursuing an additional three years of study. This enables them to deliver specialized care to their patients. In many cases, dentists must refer their patients to a prosthodontist to complete intricate and intensive procedures. Here at Garine Prosthodontics, we conduct most treatments right in our office, maintaining close relationships with our patients.
In general, prosthodontists handle everything from cosmetic procedures to restorative treatments. This could include dental implants and fixed bridges supported by implants as well as a full mouth restoration. If you have gaps in your smile that affect the quality of your life as well as your self-confidence, chances are that you could benefit from the services of a prosthodontist. We can address damaged teeth that impact your chewing while lifting your smile to the next level.
When it comes to the whole care and health of everything in your mouth, a prosthodontist is an expert. At Garine Prosthodontics, we specialize in assessing and diagnosing issues with gums, jaw structure, missing teeth, and much more. A healthy smile is deeper than what you may see on the surface. We have the tools, technology, and training necessary to support your total oral health.
Dr. Garine took care of me after I sustained a broken jaw from a fall. He did a complete restoration of all of my upper teeth and a partial restoration of my lower teeth. He took a long time explaining my situation and preparing me for the extensive work that was involved. He is kind and very competent.
Dr. Garine and Dr. Boza are the new wave of old school healthcare professionals- they are incredibly friendly with amazing bedside manner, and are highly skilled and dedicated to their patients. They both continue to go over and beyond when addressing my dental health. They researched a specific medical condition that causes challenges to my dental care and comfort during procedures.
As always the experience was the very best. Your entire staff gives one a genuine feeling of ease with the utmost professionalism. Dr. Boza is so skilled in every aspect. The easiest time I ever had when being given anesthesia. That is truly a great skill that allows the least amount of discomfort. I would even recommend your service to the President of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
Graduating first in his class, Dr. Garine received the Dr. Gerald Z. Wright Award for excellence. He then joined the Eastman Dental Center at University of Rochester, in NY where he spent three years specializing in the area of Prosthodontics.
Dr. Garine is the Director of the Seaside Study Club (local chapter of the Seattle Study Club in Jupiter, FL), a clinical assistant professor at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY and an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Boza joins us from the land of the Pura Vida or Pure Life, Costa Rica. Here he got his DDS certificate in 2004, and practiced for five years in both government and private practice. He dedicated most of his time in private practice to Dental Tourism, making full mouth rehabilitations including implant reconstructions. He then decided to specialize in prosthodontics and went on to Rochester, New York where he did three years of specialty training and a one year fellowship in implant dentistry, including placement and rehabilitation of implants, at Eastman Institute for Oral Health. After this, he was recruited to teach prosthetics and cosmetics at the University of Iowa Dental School in Iowa City, Iowa. There he was a dedicated professor of future dentists focused on the science of making dentures and crowns, clinically and in a laboratory.
He also has an MBA specialized in Medical Business Administration from Universidad de Santa Paula, Costa Rica. While still in Costa Rica, he created a non-profit association, Project Talamanca, alongside other local dentists. This organization was dedicated to providing free dental services to the indigenous community of Talamanca.
In his leisure time he likes to play sports, even though he admits he is not great in any particular one. He especially enjoys soccer, street and mountain biking, volleyball, and tennis. Reading Sci-fi novels is a relatively new pastime of his, but he enjoys letting his imagination wander. He considers himself to be an amateur chef and definitely a foodie.
