Born and raised in the state of Washington, Dr. Gardner grew up in a small farming town where he was very active in the community. After high school, Dr. Gardner attended Gonzaga University with an academic scholarship and earned his Bachelor of Science degree while graduating with high honors and being awarded Summa Cum Laudestatus. Dr.Gardner continued his education at Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry where he recieved his DMD degree (Doctor of Dental Medicine) and was honored for his academic excellence through numerous awards and membership to the prestigious Omnicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. Dr. Gardner's training was completed at the Oregon Health Sciences University Orthodontic Specialty Program where he earned his certification in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics
Dr. Gardner is a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, Mount Baker Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontics, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics. Washington State Society of Orthodontist, American Board of Orthodontics, and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Gardner regularly attends continuing education seminars to keep current on the latest technologies and treatment techniques, and he participates in an orthodontic study club with colleagues
As a board certified orthodontic specialist, Dr. Gardner has the advanced training and special skills required to manage tooth movement and guide facial development. He is dedicated to providing excellent orthodontic treatment through quality service and technical expertise
Dr. Gardner puts a priority on our community, and he and his entire team are involved in many efforts to support various civic organizations,local schools, and youth activities in Skagit County and Island County. Dr. Gardner and his entire team participate in and support community events in Mount Vernon, Burlington, Sedro-Woolley, Anacortes, Stanwood, Oak Harbor, and Coupeville (and more). In addition, Dr. Gardner regularly attends events to help support Seattle's Children's Hospital

The staff is extremely kind and efficient (each and every one!), the office warm and welcoming and Dr. Gardner gives exceptional service while explaining what he is doing and works with you to create your perfect smile! From the moment I walked through the door as a prospective patient I knew I chose the best place to achieve my desired smile. 100/10 recommend!

Gardner Orthodontics has a caring and attentive staff. Since my orthodontist retired many years ago, I have been using Gardner Orthodontics to make my clear retainers that I wear nightly. Every time I come to the office, the staff greets me with a smile. I appreciate the time Dr. Gardner and his staff takes to attend to my orthodontic needs.

I would never support a business that employees someone with no integrity or morals. Someone who goes out of their way to destroy someone's life full aware of what they doing with no remorse for their actions. I do not recommend anyone to this business for this reason.

Had an amazing experience here at Gardner Orthodontics! During my 5 year stint with braces Dr Joel Gardner took over my care from the great Dr Hall. Dr Gardner treated me with respect, kindness.overall just a great place to come once a month (this coming from someone who hates being in a dentist chair). All the staff is friendly and kind and basically turns into your lifelong friend... They followed me though some major life events and always asked how things were and actually cared . If you or a loved one need braces, a consult or just need a second opinion this is the place for you! Thanks for the great care!

Dr. Gardner and his staff are amazing! The office is always warm and welcoming! I have three children and Dr. Gardner has done braces on two of them. (They look fantastic) Our third will be getting braces soon. I worked in the pediatric dental field for 25 yrs and I have always recommended Dr. Gardner to all the patients I have seen. If you want a great orthodontist and beautiful teeth GO to Dr. Gardner!

The entire experience at Dr Gardner's office was wonderful! My oldest daughter had her braces here in high school and my youngest daughter gets hers in December! The staff is warm and welcoming! Dr Gardner even took extra time to smooth my teeth where I had a small chip! I am more than pleased with my experience! Also...Jen is awesome

Gardner orthodontics is amazing to say the least! From my first appointment, to my last, the whole staff is so welcoming, helpful and informative every step of the way. I always looked forward to my next appointment & always left happy and excited to be a step closer to a great smile! Originally I was supposed to have my braces on for 1.5 years, but got them off 3 months early! :) YAY! Everyone is so kind, I cannot thank them enough!
