Dr. Gardner has been on faculty in the orthodontic program at VCU for 20 years. Hes also one of two international Invisalign faculty from the state of Virginia and he lectures on the treatment across the globe. Both Dr. Tang and Dr. La Rochelle have received awards for their work!

Dr. Gardner later studied at Wake Forest, MCV, and NYU, where he worked closely with the cleft palate team on several complex cases. Since then, hes been consistently voted Best Orthodontist in Richmond Magazine, Style Weekly, and Virginia Living and is known for his outstanding working relationships with both his patients and his peers.
When Dr. Gardner isnt perfecting smiles at his Richmond orthodontic practice, he also serves as faculty at VCU Orthodontics, lectures nationally and internationally for Invisalign, is very active in multiple interdisciplinary study clubs throughout each year, and has served as Chair of the Ethics Committee for the Virginia Dental Association, as well as President of the Virginia Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Gardner also teaches for the Invisalign Masters Program and performs Mission work at St. Judes Hospital in St. Lucia.
Dr. Gardner was born on an American Army base in West Berlin, Germany and grew up in Martinsville, VA. He is happily married with three children. In his spare time, Dr. Gardner enjoys kiteboarding, white water kayaking, rock climbing, snow skiing, juggling fire, and anything else that involves the great outdoors, his family, and his friends! He has also been known to rappel off the SunTrust building dressed as Batman.
Board certified orthodontist Dr. Dana Tang loves working with children and teens, as well as adults. She chose the field of orthodontics after having treatment herself and realizing the impact of a smile. She wanted to help others experience the joy and confidence that a beautiful smile can give.
After graduating with a bachelors degree in biology with a minor in chemistry, Dr. Tang received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. She also completed her orthodontic residency and received her Master of Science degree in orthodontics from UNC.
In her free time, Dr. Tang loves to spend time with her family and friends, to be active in the church and community, travel, garden, cook and practice photography. Her husband is in the United States Army and they have two daughters and a dog.
Dr. La Rochelle received her Bachelor of Arts in molecular and cell biology from the University of California at Berkeley. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of California at San Francisco, where she served as student body president and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
Following dental school, Dr. La Rochelle earned her Master of Science in dentistry and specialty certificate in orthodontics from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a recipient of the Southern Association of Orthodontists Graduate Research Grant, the Delta Dental Student Leadership Award and the Pierre Fauchard Foundation Dental Scholarship.
Dr. La Rochelle swam competitively in college for the UC Berkeley Womens Swimming team, where she won an NCAA National Championship, earned PAC-10 Conference All-Academic honors and competed at the USA Swimming Olympic Trials in 2004 and 2008. She is excited to be in Richmond, VA and surrounded by patients who are fellow competitive swimmers. She enjoys encouraging them and hearing about the individual goals they set for themselves, as well as their latest competitions!
Now, as an orthodontic specialist at Gardner & La Rochelle Orthodontics, Dr. La Rochelle relies on her knowledge and expertise to help our patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles. Her areas of interest in the field include Invisalign, accelerated orthodontics and biomechanics.
Dr. La Rochelle grew up in a large family in Napa, California. She is one of six daughters. Her family is scattered throughout the United States, including California, Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. In her spare time, she loves baking, golfing, traveling, camping in the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge Mountains and of course swimming!

Good visit overall. Disappointed that I had to pay for a 2nd set of retainers. Was not told that my extra original set was probably on the models (which they were) but it was too late as I had already tried on the new set.

Love, Love, Love this practice! My son and I are both doing Invisalign at the same time. GLO always schedules us together making it super easy. The staff is friendly, fun and excellent at what they do. Nine out of ten times I leave their office in a better mood than how I arrived. I'm ALMOST sad my treatment plan is coming to an end.

I moved my two daughters from another orthodontist to Gardner Orthodontics and we couldn't be happier. Dr. Gardner and his staff are always professional, polite, and accommodating with appointments. Max and Hailey are especially friendly and helpful, whenever I have an issue I send a text (which works best for me) and they're always quick to respond to help solve my problem. Gardner Orthodontics provides a very high level of service. Highly recommended.

Maxwell at Gardner Orthodontics is our hero today!!! My daughter and I are home sick with COVID and she mentioned that her expander felt loose. Not 20 minutes later it popped out, and she was terrified and crying. I immediately called the office and Maxwell put us at ease right away. He helped to calm Kenley down and told us he'd discuss it with the clinical team and call us back. Less than 2 minutes later he called back. He was incredibly kind and spoke to my daughter to make her feel better and reassure her that these things happen. His kindness and superior customer service was above and beyond. He is our "hero of the day" for making a crying girl, battling COVID smile! Thanks Maxwell! You turned a negative situation into a positive one!

The spirit of an organization is represented by their welcome and front desk. Max is awesome! So welcoming, so helpful, so thoughtful (can I get you a coffee for the road, after appt) and generally perfect in every way. I am so delighted to leave this review for GLO Orthodontics! I have never had a bad experience with this practice. In fact, every experience leaves me beaming! From initial consultation to now, 4.5 months in braces, I have been treated with respect, listened to, and given 5 star treatment. My orthodontist is Dr. LaRochelle and she's amazing! When I had a not-so-great experience with extractions at a different practice, Dr. LaRochelle called me several times to check-in and even sent me a heartwarming (and tummy warming) gift basket of chicken noodle soup and other goodies. I felt like she and the entire office truly cared for me. Not only is she amazing, but the orthodontic assistants are so fun to work with, are always gentle, and take their time to explain as they go during my adjustments. To put the icing on the cake, the admin team is top-notch, Mimi (the financial coordinator) is so accommodating and helpful - Victoria (social media coordinator) is sweet, kind, and always willing to lend advice on my smile journey, and finally... Maxwell (scheduling coordinator) is ridiculously wonderful to speak to over the phone. I HATE calling doctor's offices, making appointments, etc. but I look forward to hearing him on the other line. He's the VOICE of Glo Orthodontics! I know this sounds like a paid review, but I swear it's not! I am just so pleased that I chose GLO Orthodontics and trusted them with my new smile. If you want the absolute best care, you'll choose them too!
