Vanessa has been a member of our Garden Home team since 2014. Her desire is to help each patient answer any questions or concerns they may have regarding their dental needs. Vanessa has a wide variety of clinical skills and is EFDA certified. She utilizes these skills in the back and front office. You will see her up front more as clinical manager, In her spare time she enjoys family time with her husband and her son. She loves to travel to new places and spend her summers here in the great Northwest.
Jody joined our team in 2020. Originally planned on following in her fathers footsteps of becoming a dentist herself but decided to pursue a career in dental assisting. She also assisted her brother in becoming the team dentist for the Los Angeles Rams and then began managing the practice. In her free time you will find her playing tennis, pickleball or snowboarding but her all time favorite thing is being with sons, Mason who serves in the US Navy and Ethan who attends OSU.
Tonya was born in the dairy community of Ferndale, California to the large animal vet and the towns RN. After graduating high school she received her B.S. from Cal Poly , San Luis Obispo in Horticulture. She accepted a job In Germany and remained there for 5 years and then spent 2 years in Japan. After returning to the states she earned her associates degree in dental hygiene and has been practicing for 27 years. In her free time Tonya enjoys anything botanical: gardening, mushroom hunting and canoeing. Other interests include reading, the arts, foreign films and many of the fun activities put on by the Garden Home Library.
Rachel has been a registered dental hygienist with Garden Home Dental since 2019. She graduated hygiene school in 2016 with honors and a passion for oral health. Her interest in dentistry started as a teen when a pediatric dentist who worked with special needs kids hired her as a sterilization technician. Her strong clinical background, thoroughness and gentleness make her an asset to our practice. She and her husband are native Oregonians and parents to three kids who are all active in sports. In her free time she enjoys hiking, camping, skiing and horseback riding.
The entire Garden Home Dental team enjoys working with dentists in the Portland community and building relationships with service organizations that help people who need dental care. We have been privileged to work with Compassion Clinic, serving in the Tigard and Beaverton area.
Dr. Aaron Pogue is a native Oregonian, growing up in Cannon Beach. He attended Trinity Western University in Vancouver Canada and completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Oregon Health Sciences University in 2012. Since then, Dr. Pogue has been practicing in the Portland area and has loved working and serving the Garden Home community. He believes in building strong relationships with patients while providing the highest quality of individualized care. He is committed to offering exceptional dentistry in a caring and comfortable environment.
Keeping very busy outside the office, Dr. Pogue has a growing family. His wife Emily is a fourth-grade teacher in Beaverton School District and they have three spirited kids Graham (7), Audrey (5) and Brooks (2) When not working with patients, Dr. Pogue loves spending time with his family and enjoys cycling, hiking and all sports!

Grace has been part of the Garden Home team full time since May 2020. She grew up in the Garden Home and still lives in the area. She has had an interest in the dental field since she was 15 years old; when she got her braces. Grace is currently in school taking prerequisites for Dental Hygiene school. When shes not working or going to school she enjoys kayaking and camping as well as visiting family on the east coast.
Sehoya has been a part of the Garden Home Dental team since June 2017. She found her passion in the dental field when her first job was at a local dental office at the age of 16. She then knew it was her dream job and wanted to pursue it as a career. She attended Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ to get her prerequisites done to apply for dental hygiene programs in Oregon. In her spare time she enjoys living an active lifestyle and spending time with friends and family.

I've only had positive experiences at Garden Home Dental. Dr. Pogue, Tonya, Grace, and the entire staff are excellent. They are responsive, professional, and patient. They take the time to listen to all your questions and explain your options. I would refer family and friends here without hesitation.

I have been going to Garden Home Dental for a few years now and all I can say is WOW! The staff are always so helpful and friendly. Tonya is the most wonderful hygienist and makes the process of getting your teeth cleaned super quick and easy. Dr. Pogue is an excellent dentist and is always so positive and upbeat. I love Garden Home Dental! The staff is great and the environment is peaceful and comfortable. Dr. Pogue is very personable and treats patients on an individual basis, doing what is best for their particular situation (which can't be said for all dentists). Great place for families or all ages!

Friendly and professional! The best combo ever! Dr. Pogue and team took care of me in a last minute, urgent situation. They called me back after they had a cancellation and fit me into their super busy schedule during Christmas break! Crazy, I know... Now Dr. Pogue will now be my family dentist in Portland!

My whole family has been going here for years and love the service and way we are treated. I moved to Vancouver a few years ago but make the drive back to continue going here because of Dr Pouge and his entire staff. I would recommend Garden Home Dental to anyone.

As I am from a small town, I was so nervous to go to a dentist in the city. I was afraid it wasn't going to be a welcoming or happy community experience. All my expectations were so WRONG, this place felt like the small town community and experience you crave in the city. They were so personable and the Dr. Pogue didn't act hurried and took the time to answer all my questions. I had an amazing conversation and experience with my cleaning and routine exam. Highly recommend this place!

Nothing is scarier for someone who has had a lifetime of bad dental experiences than to go to a dentist they don't really know anything about, in an emergency. Unfortunately my husband lost an old crown, and because we had wanted to find a new dentist closer to home and be vaccinated first, we didn't act immediately. He woke up in terrible pain and we knew it was now an emergency. I had seen Garden Home Dental for many years when I drove in the area so I looked at his website, just had a good feeling, and called them. Not only were we told they would fit my husband in that day, they asked him to just come in as soon as we could make it there and they would fit him in. We expected to be sitting in the waiting room for hours, but they took him back within *30* minutes - as a walk-in! Dr. Pogue even apologized to my husband for having to wait, which blew my mind. Within 90 minutes of arriving, we were headed home. Everyone we interacted with was extremely nice, and my husband "really liked" Dr. Pogue, which is very high praise coming from a man who dreads the dentist. We will now both be going back to see him regularly, as the new dentist we were looking for.

Our family has been going to Garden Home Dental for at least the past decade. They are always friendly and professional. Dr. Pogue, and Dr. Handick before him, are excellent dentists. One thing I particularly appreciate is the conservative approach to dentistry that seeks to preserve teeth and avoid overtreatment.

I recently visited Garden Home Dental for the first time for a check-up and cleaning. Everyone in the office was very friendly. Dr. Pogue took the time to talk to me and get to know me. He did not appear rushed in the least. I felt very comfortable and acknowledged. Rachel gave me a very thorough and efficient cleaning while maintaining a friendly rapport. They did not attempt to push any products or services on me. I would highly recommend this office to anyone in the area. I look forward to coming back in six months.
