While going to school for criminal justice and police reform, she soon realized dentistry was an added passion and enjoyed seeing others smile confidently. With experience in customer service and taking pride in helping others, Emmy's main priority is making sure our GDA family gets the time and attention needed to help everyone understand the financial aspects and making it just a bit easier to help meet your dental needs. The team at Garden Dental Arts believe in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the staff at Garden Dental Arts work to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. The majority of our patients are local and come from the greater Brooklyn area, we also see patients that are looking for gentle dental care.

Seniors, on the other hand, often struggle with gum disease and oral infections. As people age, their teeth can become weaker and infected more easily. Bone loss is incredibly common with seniors and by conducting regular dental exams, the team at Garden Dental Arts can help seniors to have strong teeth and reduce the risk of them falling out. Since over seventy percent of U.S. adults suffer from tooth loss, preventative care is important.

A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.

A. Have your family dentist evaluate the fluoride level of your child's primary source of drinking water. If your child is not getting enough fluoride internally through water (especially if the fluoride level is deficient or if your child drinks bottled water without fluoride), then we may prescribe fluoride supplements.

A. Soft plastic mouthguards can be used to protect teeth, lips, cheeks and gums from sport related injuries. A custom-fitted mouthguard will protect your teeth from injuries and even provide protection from severe injuries to the head.

A. There is very little risk in dental X-rays. Family dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which you and your family are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation. Digital x-rays provide an even greater level of protection by using up to 90 percent less radiation.

A family dentist might tell you to brush your teeth often to keep cavities away. The mouth has many microorganisms, which is why it is so important to use toothpaste regularly. These might feed on bits of food particles left in the mouth, leading to oral infections. You could have gum disease or tooth decay

Most experts recommend that people should visit the family dentist two times a year. The dentist performs an overall exam of the gums, teeth, and mouth to see if there are any signs of decay, gum disease, or other issues. It is important to have a dental professional check the gums because gum disease can

The family dentist is aware of the need for extra care with kids teeth. Dentists are also familiar with the tendency of kids to fidget in the chair. The dentist will talk the kids through what they are doing and why. The dentist will try to make the kids feel comfortable during the visit.Childhood visits

To keep kids safe and comfortable, it is important to be aware of the most common dental emergencies in children. Understanding pediatric dental emergencies helps parents get the care needed as soon as possible. Children experiencing a dental emergency should be given immediate treatment to reduce pain and prevent long-term issues. These are some common dental

A pleasant atmosphere and a wonderful attentive staff. The hygienists are patient and give a full briefing. Dr. Ifill is gentle, kind, adroit. And very helpful in charting out a full regimen of care in challenging circumstances. As wonderful an experience as going to the dentist can ever be, I reckon.

We have been patients of Garden Dental Arts for the past 8 years and our overall experience has been outstanding. Dr. Ifill and staff are professional, highly skilled, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Each phase of treatment is clearly explained so it is easy to understand. COVID protocols are in place allowing for a comfortable and safe environment in a clean office with relaxing background music. We travel from Queens to Brooklyn passing many dental practices along the way. However we choose Garden Dental Arts because we trust and are confident that they maintain a high level of care, quality and service. We highly recommend this practice!

The best dentist appointment I've ever had. I was late and the staff was accommodating and made me feel at ease. My dental hygienist Katherine was extremely patient and explained everything she was doing in real time. She sat with me and spoke in depth about my 3-D scans which were also amazing to see. The cleaning cleared up all my stains and when Dr. Daniel came in he was friendly, efficient, and professional. I bought an electric toothbrush and am debating going through with Invisalign all because I was treated so well here. Thank you!!!

Wait times can be long but well worth it when you have a team of people who are knowledgeable, friendly and hard working. Waited for my appointment for a cleaning for about 4 months and never had one like this before. Thank you to my hygienist, thank you staff! Keep pushing through
