Dr. Allen S. Garai received his postdoctoral training inRochester, New York, where he completed a one-year residency in advanced education in general dentistry, and continued with a two-year specialty in orthodontics at Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester. This is recognized as one of the top orthodontic residency programs in the country.
While at Eastman, he dedicated time to study of facial growth in patients with craniofacial abnormalities under the supervision of Dr. J.D. Subtelny, who is one of the pioneers in the orthodontic treatment of patients with this condition.
Dr.Garai has been awarded the honorary title of Diplomate by the American Board of Orthodontics. This is the only orthodontic specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association. Dr. Garai has served as attending faculty and taught lingual invisible orthodontics in the postdoctoral orthodontic program of Childrens National Medical Center and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Garai has been practicing orthodontics for more than 15 years, and is privileged to have created thousands of individualized beautiful smiles. He has at least 15 years of experience in Invisalign and been recognized as an Elite Provider in 2014 and 2015.
Dr. Garai has been teaching orthodontics, in clinical and didactic studies, at Childrens and Washington Hospital Centers orthodontic departments. Thus, he is always up to date with the latest treatments.
Dr. Allen Garai has had a special, two-year formal residency training in lingual orthodontics under one of the pioneers of lingual hidden orthodontics. He has more than 15 years of experience in treating patients with lingual braces, and has been teaching lingual orthodontics at Childrens/Washington Hospital Center Department of Orthodontics since 1998.
Dr. Garai has been recognized as One of leaders in Lingual Orthodontics in the Washington area by Washingtonian magazine. He has presented lingual treatment cases at the National American Orthodontic Association meeting. Dr. AllenGarai has been featured on NBC 4, A New MeTVshow, and News Channel 8.

I've been with Dr. Garai since the age of 9-10 and I've always been satisfied with his work. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always attentive to your visit. As a college student, it is difficult to schedule my follow-up appointments, but their staff has always made an effort to fit me in whenever I come back home! Also, a big shout out to Amber! She is so sweet and makes you feel comfortable, which is wonderful for those who fear the sounds of drills or tools in your mouth.
