Dr. Kivus returned to Auburn after graduating from the College of the Holy Cross in 1975 and receiving his DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1979. He started his family general practice treating patients of all ages for 25 years. He transitioned his office to South Portland in 2004 where still continues to offer his patients restorative, reconstructive and esthetic dental treatment. In addition to running Gannett Drive Dental, in 2016 he joined the teaching staff at the University of New England College of Dental Medicine as an Assistant Clinical Professor.
Dr. Kivus and his wife, Linda, live in Scarborough and are the parents of two children, John (a law partner in Raleigh, NC where he lives with his wife, Elyssa) and Elizabeth ( a periodontist and owner of Steel City Implants and Periodontics in Vestavia Hills, AL, where she lives with her husband Brett, and two children, Ellen and Reed).
Dr. Fillebrown has been providing exceptional dental care at Gannett Drive Dental and has also served as Assistant Clinical Professor at the dental school since graduating in 2017. He has resided in the Greater Portland area since 2013 and lives in Westbrook with his wife Samantha, their son, Callan, Golden Retriever Maya and 2 cats, Mo and Lido. Dr. Fillebrown loves to golf and participates in Casco Bay Sports leagues throughout the year.
Dr. Fillebrown loves helping his patients reach their oral health goals and getting to know them on a personal level. Dr. Fillebrown is motivated every day to make connections with my patients and show that he truly cares about them beyond just their oral health goals.
Kathy enjoys getting to know our patients and hearing about their families and hobbies. She also enjoys working with the rest of the team and feels they are more like family and close friends than just co-workers. She contributes to the success of the dental office by listening to our patients about their dental needs and accommodating them with information that addresses their concerns. Kathy enjoys summertime camping in Central Maine and having family and friends visit. She most enjoys spending time with her 3 year old grandson, Kieran at his home in New York and visiting the places that are of interest to him!
Michelle truly loves connecting with patients, treating them more like friends. She contributes to our success by caring for and educating our patients, and by striving to give them the tools for their best possible oral health. Michelle has two sons, Daniel and James and a sweet Rottweiler, Molly. She loves traveling up to her camp in central Maine on weekends in the summer.
Stephanie loves working with patients and really enjoy improving their oral health and their smiles. She loves continuing education as she has completed extensive cosmetic and orthodontic courses and utilizes this experience and knowledge to help educate our patients. Stephanie is married to her Husband Mike. She has 3 Children, Becca, Hailey and Copper, with 3 bonus children, Alicia, Kourtnee and Haylee, and one bonus grandson, Finley. She really enjoys spending time with her family and friends and her little dogs, Bruno, Toby and Ollie. In her free time, shes an avid exerciser and gardener.
I enjoy working closely with each individual patient as I know each person has different needs and I tailor what I do and my plan for them and their home care based on those needs. I love spending time outdoors with my family and exploring our beautiful state.
She loves to educate our patients on the importance of oral health and the impact it has on their overall health. She also loves to chat with patients and learn what we can do to help them achieve their goals. She grew up in Gorham, Me and she loves spending time with her fianc Ethan and her Siberian husky, Tonka. Anything involving the outdoors is where she is happiest! Skylher enjoys skiing, snowmobiling, fishing and hiking.

I'm here in Maine on vacation visiting family for the holidays and what do you know? My crown cracks!!! UGH!!! So I have a full week left of vacation and desperately need a temporary to get me through until I can get back home to have my dentist get a new crown for me. My family here in Maine has been going to Gannett Drive Dental for many years. My mom called them and they fit me in that morning. Dr. Fillebrown and Skylar assisted me and they were both amazing! They took care of me, super friendly and professional. I got my temporary crown and now I can enjoy rest of my vacation without having to worry about my tooth or any pain. The staff are always very friendly, and more importantly, extremely competent as well. I've been a patient of Gannett Drive Dental for at least 10 years. I've had regular bi-yearly cleanings and also dental work completed, most recently, an old filling removed on a cracked tooth which was then capped. Dr. Fillebrown completed the procedure quickly and painlessly with perfect results; it's what you get with these folks.

My mother and I have been loyal patients of Gannett Drive Dental ever since I had teeth to clean - so, for over thirty years now. Drs. Kivus and Fillebrown are both incredibly competent, and as kind as they are professional. The team of assistants are also extremely professional and responsive to patients. Over the years, I've gone so far as to choose my insurance plans based on whether or not they list this practice as in-network. And whenever I get to have kids, you can bet I'll be bringing them here.

Great experience all around with Gannet drive dental, from my cleaning to dental work. The hygienists are great and skilled. Dr. Fillebrown made the process of a filling as smooth as possible and made me feel relaxed. The staff is friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout, I would certainly recommend them to anyone!

I've been going here since roughly 2006. I've always been treated well; always given consideration from a fine staff. John Kivus has done great work on my teeth, which I'll admit is a challenge due to overcrowding, and always with a great conversation and a laugh. Recently I've been having work done with "the new guy," Jake Fillebrown, and he has already proven to be highly skilled as well as really personable. I can say the same about my hygienist. I'm very happy with this practice.

Ok, so I had not been to the dentist in years.. well like 20+ years and my experience today with Dr. Fillebrown and the team was fantastic. Not only did I feel comfortable and relaxed in the chair, I genuinely enjoyed my time with the staff. Right from walking to reception, to the drill and fillings, to an expert and gentle (desperately needed) cleaning, to the goodbyes, my experience today was top notch. Not only were my teeth taken care of but I got a bit of an education as the team were more than happy to show me pictures and explain things to me! I highly recommend this practice to anyone searching. Great team, and amazing people!

Awesome Dental Clinic! I have been seeing Dr. Kivus since I was kid and have been seeing Dr. Fillebrown for the last couple of years. They do an awesome job from my cleanings to other dental work including cavity fillings (which was painless). The hygienists really care about their work. I have had nothing but a good experience at this dentist office. Everyone is friendly and they really care about providing a superior patient experience. Highly recommended!!!

Went in with a dental emergency this fall and have spent a lot of time in the chair since then. I'm really happy with all the dental care I've received- when I was in crisis mode and now that I'm going for preventative routines. The atmosphere is super chill, and they don't make me feel bad about all the candy I eat. Gina is an awesome hygienist, and Dr Jake is laid-back and explains everything well. Would def recommend.

Dr. Fillebrown is both a great dentist, as well as, a great person. Like many people, I get anxiety when its time to go to the dentist which is why for most my life I waited too long. Dr. Fillebrown has been more than understanding & accommodating. Thanks to the type of person he is, I actually smile in photos now, something I have avoided out of embarrassment for many years. The rest of the staff are great and make you feel welcome. I would recommend them to everyone.
