Dr. Gallagher received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering at Arizona State University. He attended the University of California at San Francisco where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Sciences and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1994. He completed his Master of Science degree and specialty certification in Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific in 1999. In 2004, Dr. Gallagher culminated his educational experience upon earning his Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Dr. Gallaghers varied background has provided a strong foundation on which to build his career in orthodontics. Following service in the United States Marine Corps, Dr. Gallagher carried over their motto, Semper Fi meaning always faithful, to his orthodontic practice. His attention to detail is clearly evident in the renovations he completed himself in both his Gilroy and Hollister offices. As a civil engineer, Dr. Gallagher worked on projects such as the Gilroy Premium Outlets and the Eagle Ridge development in the South Valley Area.
Dr. Gallagher resides in Gilroy with his wife, Mari-Anne, and their two children, Rachael and Brian. Dr. Gallagher is a collector of Disney memorabilia and has much of his collection displayed in both our Gilroy and Hollister offices. In fact, the Gallagher family dog, Eve, an adorable Shih Tzu, is named after a character in the Walt Disney Pictures film, WALL-E. During the summer (or any time of year), Dr. Gallagher loves to take his family to Fentons Creamery in Oakland, which was featured in the Disney/Pixar film, Up. He is a well-rounded trivia buff and is often providing patients and parents with interesting facts about sports, movies, music, history, and more!
Born in New York and a native of New Hampshire, Kristen and her husband of 32 years moved to Gilroy in 2010 with their two daughters to be closer to her parents who moved west in search of warmer weather. Their son is a 1st Sergeant / Medic with the Massachusetts Army National Guard and lives in Dunstable, Massachusetts with his wife and their two young children. Kristen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and has worked in the music education, special education, and marketing industries. Kristen enjoyed playing her flute with the 39th Army Band in New Hampshire and served on the Board of Directors at her daughters school prior to moving to California. Kristen enjoys going to the seacoast, baking, reading, Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, and playing frisbee with their black Labrador.
Born and raised in Hollister, California, Desiree has been a licensed RDA since 2014. She and her husband, Steve, have two wonderful kids, David and Kobe. Desiree has experience in both general dentistry and orthodontics. She enjoys spending time with her family, vacations, and going to the beach! Desiree is also a HUGE Harry Potter fan!
Born in Durango, Mexico, Silvia moved to Watsonville, California in 1973 at the age of four. She currently lives in Hollister with her husband of 34 years, Jose. Silvia has three sons, two daughters, and seven grandchildren! She has worked in both the medical and dental fields and is certified in both medical and dental billing. In her spare time, Silvia likes to spend time with her family going camping and on road trips and barbequing!
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Destiny moved to Hollister, California in 2001 at the age of eight. She has been a certified Dental Assistant since 2013. Destiny started her career in general dentistry and transitioned to the field of orthodontics in 2017. She currently works in our orthodontic lab fabricating appliances and retainers in addition to assisting chair side. She and her husband have one son, Aiden. In her free time, Destiny enjoys spending time with her family outdoors.
Born and raised in Gilroy, California, Brooke moved to Los Banos in 2009. Brooke has two young daughters, Aubree and Ashlynn. She received her Dental Assistant certification from ROP in 2013 and has worked in general dentistry, implant dentistry, and orthodontics since 2014. She also has front office experience with scheduling and billing. Brooke enjoys relaxing and adventuring on the weekends with her girls!
The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that your child get an orthodontic check up no later than age 7 in order to diagnose problems with jaw growth, harmful oral habits, and future crowding of erupting permanent teeth.
Not everyone is born with a beautiful, healthy smile. Most orthodontic problems such as crowding, spacing, protrusion, extra or missing teeth, and some jaw growth problems are inherited and cannot be prevented.
