I am an MCPS teacher. I was seeing Dr. Gakavian to catch up on dental work I needed. He was a family dentist for me. I know I needed some things done and was determined to get my mouth back on track. I was originally under the impression it would only be several visits to get back on track, according to him. However, after MANY visits, nothing seemed to get better and I started questioning his "plan". . After getting other teeth worked on, I still ended up needing two root canals on two teeth next to each other (#13 and #14 I believe). Dr. Gakavians plan was to do #13 (with no cap) and then I come back to do #14 and then I come back a third time, where he would cap both at the same time, so "it would be easier for him". I saw Dr. Gakavian to do #13 and before we started #14, my tooth (#13) chipped. When I went back in, he said the chip did not matter because "he was going to need to shave it down anyway for a cap" and proceeded to start working on (root canal) tooth #14. I put my trust in Dr. Gakavian. However, a few days after getting the second root canal ,#13 (chipped more) and #14 chipped as well, as both were exposed without a cap. When I went back to see Dr. Gakavian, he informed me that the chips were too big and I had to have both teeth extracted. The person he ended up referring to me to, was EXTREMELY unprofessional as well (another story for another time). Since this event, I have not gone back to see Dr. Gakavian. In all honesty, this was an EXTREMELY TRAUMATIC experience for me and it gave me the impression that all he was after was more money. I have since seen another dentist in the area and after comparing his practice to others, I would strongly advise going to another practice, one who does not give the impression of "lets see how it goes". I would not recommend Dr. Gakavian to anyone I care about.

They're always so accommodating with scheduling and they're so kind! I typically get anxious with dentist visits, but Dr. Gakavian is very patient and takes the time to explain what he's doing to help relieve my anxiety. Very relatable and personable gentleman and very kind!

I highly recommend Dr. Gakavian to anyone seeking a great dental practice. Dr. Ghakavian is extremely skilled, very warm, funny and friendly. His staff, especially Jenny, Lily and Esther, are really friendly, professional and super helpful. I am giving Dr. Gakavian 5 stars but would give him 14.5 out of 15 stars if possible! A true, unsolicited review from a current patient.

My wife and I have known Dr. Gakavian for years and he is the only Doctor we would trust our dental care to. His staff is excellent and we feel very comfortable and welcome every time we visit.

I went to Dr. Gakavian the whole 8 years I was in Maryland. What a good and congenial dentist. HE employed very good hygenists, and one who memorably went to war with a peice of popcorn in my gum. I recommend Doctor Gakavian!
