Dr. Davis grew up in Vienna, VA and graduated from George C. Marshall High School in 1993. She attended the University of Virginia for her undergraduate studies, where she majored in English and minored in Biology. In 2002 she graduated magna cum laude from the school of dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Davis continued on in Richmond to complete her pediatric dentistry residency.
She and her husband, Marcus, have four children, twin boys, Benjamin and Joshua, and two girls Madison and Emory. When Dr. Davis is not taking her children to soccer, dance, swim, or school activities, she enjoys peace and quiet. Other hobbies include supporting the Washington Redskins, traveling, and quiet dinners with her husband.
Dr. Davis is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the Northern Virginia Dental Society (NVDS), Virginia Dental Association (VDA), and American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD).

Closed on Monday and Friday??? But your website says opened. I was calling in both days and automatic answer said the office is closed

We have been coming here for 10 years. My son is now 14 years old now. We have been very pleased with the service. Our last visit the dentist brought up x rays which we always decline. She said the first x-ray isn't that big of a deal if you get the cavity in between his teeth and it grows then they would just fill in the cavity. So we really didn't "need" to get that one. Then she proceeded to talk about the Panoramic X-Ray and that one she's concerned about. Because if my son had a head tumor they would be able to see it using that X-ray. I asked does that happen often. She said enough to cause her concern. I politely declined. My son is 14 years old and has ZERO CAVITIES . I don't feel the need to do an unnecessary medical procedure. About a week after our visit I received a letter in the mail stating that they no longer want us as a customer due to our conflicting philosophies. I was very taken aback we have been going there for 10 years never had an x-ray so this was kind of out of the blue. I thought dentist were supposed to clean teeth check for cavities and if you have a cavity they fill it. I did not know they were in the tumor detecting field. I'm very disappointed.. this is a form of medical discrimination and I will be contacting corporate. Pushing for unnecessary medical treatment and then pretty much firing us because we did not want it.

I've been taking my kiddos here for years. Everyone is always pleasant & knowledgeable. The dentists communicate with me well, & during the covid-19 pandemic I've felt they've taken excellent precautions. The decor is fun, the fish tank is amazing, & although we've moved further away, we still make the trip! (The appointment reminders they send are super helpful as well)

Can not say how pleased I am. Always explain what is going on and all options available. Always talking to patient telling what is happening, showing them, calming them down. Easy to work with and accommodating. Girls have no fear going to dentist

I am writing this review to share my experience at Gainesville Pediatric Dentistry, and especially with Melissa San Pietro. Oftentimes the dentist experience can cause anxiety and fear, but that was not the case for our visit. Melissa was very patient, calming and attentive and made our experience extremely comfortable. We are very pleased and plan to make Hero Pediatric Dentistry our 'home' for our family dental needs.

I've taken my son to Gainesville Pediatric Dentistry for many years now. They are truly wonderful in caring for his dental needs as well as comforting my anxiety that I have developed due to my own bad experiences with other dental facilities. I highly recommend G.P.D. to all children of various ages.

A beautiful and inviting office that is super cool for the kids from the littlest to the teens. Staff is kind and gentle making it a priority that my kids felt comfortable and even had a fun time! Dr. Shingler & Dr. Davis are very knowledgeable and sweet. They both have done a great job walking my kids through any procedures, which really made them super comfortable with the process. We have since moved out of the immediate area (45 minutes away) and I still bring both my kids to this practice because it has just been such a wonderful experience for my kids. Well worth the travel to have the peace of mind knowing they're in such great hands. I have referred so many of my friends to this practice and will continue to do so!

My daughter is 10 and has been going since about 1. She loves them so much that when we moved an hour away she begged me to keep this as her dentist. They are some welcoming and very patient with kids that are scared.

Gainesville Pediatric Dentisty has been our dentist for all three of my children for the last 15 years. We have never had a bad experience there, including routine visits and/or teeth pulling. The staff is professional, gentle, caring and so good with children. At one time or another all of my children have been fearful of the dentist and they could not be more caring and compassionate and ultimately put my children at ease. As an aside the office is beautifully decorated in a very clever nautical theme which is very soothing. One of the things I love is that one of their rooms is a big open room so they can often see all my children at once and I can be with all of them and talk to the doctor at one time. It is very convenient. They also have divided rooms for when my daughter got older. I can't forget about the eye pads that you can watch when you have a procedure done! Those have been a lifesaver! Truly do love this practice and I have recommended it to numerous friends who love it just as much!

I drive 40 miles to take my kids to this office, because they are the best. The front staff, the assistants and the doctors, are all great. Very knowledgeable and experienced doctors.

We have used this dentist for our kids for many years and love it! They make both kids and parents feel at ease. They are patient even with kids that are extremely nervous. It is a cute office and very clean with a fun atmosphere.
