Elias Tobon, DMD, is an experienced dentist with the team at Gables Family Dental, with locations in Coral Gables and Miami, Florida. He combines the most up-to-date dental knowledge and cutting-edge technology to yield high-quality dental treatment for his patients.
Dr. Tobon is a native Colombian and he received his doctorate in dentistry at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. After graduating, he pursued advanced training in general dentistry at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts.
After his training, Dr. Tobon relocated to Miami and assumed a position as an Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University in Broward County, Florida. While there, he specialized in cosmetic dentistry treatments including fixed and removable prosthodontics.
Oscar Sanchez, DDS, is an experienced dentist with the team at Gables Family Dental, located in Miami and Coral Gables, Florida. He is dedicated to offering excellent professional dental service relating to each patient and their individual needs.
Dr. Sanchez was born in Cuba and moved with his family to the Bologna/Parna area of Italy when he was 12 years old. The following year, they moved to San Antonio, Texas. At the age of 18, Oscar joined the military, where he was an infantry and paratrooper soldier. Upon completion of his military service, Oscar moved to Miami, where he fell in love with the city and has remained here ever since. He received his bachelor's degree in biology from FIU and his dental degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Sanchez is passionate about functional dental aesthetics as well as helping patients improve their oral health to achieve a beautiful smile. He is dedicated to continuing his education through advanced training in cosmetic dentistry.

My daughter was traumatized during her past 3 visits. The first visit involved a painful cleaning when I had scheduled her appointment specifically for a cavity filling. The second visit was supposedly to take care of one of her cavities, which was causing her great pain, yet the dentist sent her home without dealing with her cavity. I was told that the dentist "tried to anesthetize her gums, but it didn't work." Foolishly, I took her to a third visit yesterday, which I had to book a month in advance and was assured that my daughter would get her main cavity resolved during this visit. I was then informed that she needed a root canal for that tooth, so OK, fine. Could the dentist take care of another cavity during this visit? Apparently, no. Instead, the dentist refused care unless I returned to the office to "discuss the situation." The worst part about this experience yesterday was that I had spoken to a staff member en route to my daughter's appt and asked if I needed to stay at the office during the appt and was clearly told "no," and I informed the staff member that I had to return to work. When the dentist demanded that I return to the office literally 15 minutes after I had left, I politely explained that I was on a work call and asked if he could fill one of her cavities as planned. This service was denied, and then the staff would not allow my daughter to walk outside to my car after I drove back to the office (still on my work call), so that I could take her home. I will never return to that horrific place with my traumatized daughter.

Excellent service but lately they overbook making people wait (I've waited an hour). I had an appointment at 11:30am and arrived on time. Im sitting here at 12:30pm typing this review upset seeing people coming after me straight to the dentist chair. (Seriously, how? I have an appointment). They blast your phone with reminders via text and email: wks before, a wk before, a few days before, a day before, on the same day... Whats the point?
