If you are looking into orthodontics options for your teen, it is important to consider Invisalign vs. traditional braces for teens. You should also know what both solutions look like on a daily basis. Essentially, any orthodontic solution will move teeth by applying pressure. This pressure has to be placed on the right teeth at the right time so that gradually, they move into position. Both solutions do an excellent job. At the end of the day it really comes down to lifestyle, convenience, and what your teen will feel confident wearing.

When it comes to appearance, nothing beats Invisalign. Keep this in mind when comparing Invisalign vs. traditional braces for teens. The aligners are clear, so hardly anyone will notice that they are wearing them. The biggest aesthetic benefit is that as their teeth begin to move, their smile will look better. Being able to see an improvement quickly will help your teen to feel encouraged to keep up with the process, knowing that their smile will only get more and more attractive.

In our Lancaster dental office, one of the biggest concerns we hear from teens (especially the hungry ones) is that wearing orthodontics will impact their daily diet. We know that most of our younger patients are fairly particular in what they eat and at the very least, have multiple favorite foods. If things like pizza, hamburgers, sandwiches and popcorn are on their 'must have' list, than Invisalign is a far better option than braces. When wearing traditional metal braces, teens have to eat carefully. You cannot simply bite into a burger or sandwich and if you do, you will have a ton of food stuck in between your teeth. For teens, and adults, this can be completely embarrassing. Many teens change what they eat while wearing braces while others simply don 't eat in public. Both can be inconvenient and silly when Invisalign provides a better way. Since the Invisalign aligners are designed to come out while eating, your teen can eat whatever they want without worrying about how they look or their orthodontics becoming damaged. This means that life can continue on like normal, without the annoying adjustments that teens don 't enjoy.

Another factor to compare when evaluating Invisalign vs. traditional braces for teens is oral hygiene. This is a big deal because, as a dentist, we do not want any of our patients to suffer from decay and as a parent, you do not want your child to end up with a bunch of cavities. At G.J. Palmieri, DDS & Associates, LLC, our solution is to provide teens with Invisalign instead of braces. When wearing braces, the risk for decay naturally goes up because it is harder to keep teeth clean. With Invisalign, the aligners come out while brushing so their oral hygiene routine can remain virtually the same. The only slight difference is that the aligners need to be brushed with warm water and a soft toothbrush before being put back in. We can also recommend a special cleaning solution but otherwise, the process is the same as always and completely easy. If your teen gets braces instead, they will need to use a special flossing tool and a brush that looks like a tree to get the food particles and plaque off of the area around the brackets. This has to be repeated for every tooth so you can imagine how much longer it will take.

Don't forget school activities when comparing Invisalign vs. traditional braces for teens. At G.J. Palmieri, DDS & Associates, LLC, we have found that the majority of our patients do more than simply go to school. They are in the band, choir, play sports, act in the school play, etc. In other words they are busy. Braces can interfere with this because they can be uncomfortable and make it difficult to play an instrument. They can also create a hazard when playing high-impact sports. Fortunately, Invisalign does not. The aligners can be removed during any of these activities so that your teen does not have to sacrifice anything to straighten their teeth. They will be far happier with the process as a result. If you are unsure about a specific activity and how Invisalign could impact it, visit our Lancaster, PA dental office to speak with Dr. Gilbert Palmieri.

Once your teen is done wearing Invisalign or traditional braces they will need to wear a retainer. It is normal and few, if any, can escape this reality. The reason is simple. Teeth can revert back to their old position, if only slightly. Wearing a retainer at night, can help to keep teeth in the correct and improved position. The good news is that your teen will be so used to wearing their aligners, a retainer will not seem like a big deal. In our Lancaster dental office, we can explain the various options for retainers but typically recommend a clear, full retainer that closely resembles the aligners they are accustomed to.

Call our Lancaster, Pennsylvania dental office at 717-708-9010 to discuss this solution in further detail. At G.J. Palmieri, DDS & Associates, LLC, we can answer your questions and help your teen to make an informed decision regarding their orthodontics treatment. We are located in the Lancaster area and look forward to meeting you to discuss Invisalign Teen.

Tooth pain is common in individuals of all ages, which makes it a top priority for family dentists to address. Every type of tooth pain is different, however, in general, it is an indicator that something else is wrong. When experiencing tooth pain, it can be helpful to become familiar with what it may mean.Tooth

Wondering why a dental fillings is also known as a direct dental restoration? There are both direct and indirect restoration options available, with each option addressing a particular dental problem. Examples of indirect options include dental crowns, dental bridges, dental veneers and dental implants, as these types of restorations are constructed outside of the mouth.

At G.J. Palmieri, DDS & Associates, LLC, we provide clear braces throughout the Lancaster area. Straight teeth are important for your overall oral health. When teeth are crooked, they can become stained and infected more easily. By straightening teeth, we can improve your appearance and decrease the risk of getting cavities at the same time. We can also address issues that you may have with your jaw by aligning your bite. Clear braces are truly a comprehensive way and discreet way to address oral health concerns.

We understand that while many people want to have straighter teeth, many teens and adults are uncomfortable with the traditional metal braces on their teeth for more than one year. While they are not as discreet as people wish, metal braces are an effective tool for straightening teeth. The procedure works by placing a metal bracket onto the surface of each tooth and running a wire through those brackets. It is impossible not to notice when someone is wearing traditional metal braces. While the treatment works, it can also negatively impact a persons' appearance while doing so. This has led many people to seek out a better option, one that we provide.

At G.J. Palmieri, DDS & Associates, LLC, we offer clear alternatives for adults and teens the greater Lancaster area. We can straighten teeth and move them into the perfect position so the patient has a beautiful and radiant straight smile. If you have crooked teeth, unsightly gaps between your teeth or a misaligned bite, then we can help to correct these issues and more. Clear braces work just as effectively as metal braces but with some major improvements. Clear braces are much more difficult to notice, making them ideal for busy professionals, teens and those that do not want to negatively impact their current appearance during the process.

There are several types of clear and barely visible options to choose. One operates similarly to traditional metal braces where we place a bracket onto each tooth and thread a wire between the brackets. The difference is that instead of being made out of metal, the brackets for clear braces consists of a tooth-colored resin that blends in with the natural tooth. The wire is also tooth-colored so that the braces themselves are almost invisible and difficult to see. We find that this solution works well for teens and adults that are able to practice proper dental hygiene with the clear braces. Otherwise, food can stain the brackets. This solution is an excellent alternative to traditional braces and is just as effective at addressing all oral health concerns.

Clear braces also come in the form of aligners. Clear aligners look like a full retainer that surrounds the teeth and are worn on the upper and lower teeth. Aligners are more convenient to wear than metal braces since patients can remove them when necessary. One of the major concerns that people have with wearing braces is that they do not come off until the treatment is complete. If, for example, you get braces then decide to get married, you will either have braces in your wedding pictures or need to pay to remove them and reinstall them after. Simultaneously, if you have a big presentation at work and want to impress a client, your braces cannot come off for the meeting. This leaves many adults apprehensive about committing to a two-year treatment plan. We understand that appearance is important for more than vanity. It impacts your ability to create a professional image and retain your own self-image. As a Lancaster provider of clear braces and aligners, we make it so that you do not have to compromise your appearance or lifestyle while straightening teeth; aligners are a key component of that.

We treat both teens and adults and understand that both can benefit from similar treatment options. While children may not be able to wear clear braces, teens can wear clear braces if they take proper care of them. The main difference between clear braces for teens and adult braces, is that teens may need to use their aligners for a longer period of time. With such a busy schedule, we expect teens to remove their aligners more frequently to do things like play sports.

An Invisalign dentist helps people who have teeth alignment issues. Many of these folks are turned off by the idea of having conspicuous metal braces in their mouth, and that prevents them from getting the treatment they need. Many would rather live with poorly aligned teeth than endure the attention braces draw to a person's

I was crying and couldn't find any dentist to take me for an emergency root canal. I didn't want to just pull my tooth. I was in within an hour even though they were short staffed. I'm so glad I found them. He was quick and got me out of pain really fast. During the root canal, I felt really comfortable. If they took my insurance, I'd continue to go to him! His fees for the root canal seemed reasonable too. Great people and dentist work here.

This is what $17,000 gets you at this office. 3 months after he did my entire upper teeth they fell off and he would not warrant his work.

I'm not a regular patient of Palmieri but i was seen there twice in the last week. I reached out to them while doing research on Zoom Whitening after my local dentist suggested it before some extensive dental work. The person who answered the phone was very pleasant, answered all my questions and did not rush me off of the phone. I decided to come in and have my teeth cleaned before the whitening and I'll be honest i have a extensive dental history that includes some defective restoration that needs to be fixed. The hygienist was not the most gentle but in my case that was okay because i really needed a good cleaning. Ive had regular cleanings for the last 20 years and this hygienist got my teeth super clean. Dr Palmieri stopped in and went over my history with me and was very kind and patient with me. He answered all my questions and then some. It was quite a change of pace from what i am used to which is 5 seconds with a dentist then assistant and them I'm out. Dr. Palmieri even came out to talk to me before i left after my cleaning. I decided to come back and get my teeth whitening done here as well even though there were cheaper places. It took about 2 hours and was worth every penny. They said I lightened about 4 or 5 shades but i personally think it was more than that. I finally am back to my regular shade and i am so happy. They were willing to turn down the light if i needed them too, and they took the time to pack my teeth before whitening. One thing is, i had a consult at another dentist and they turned me down saying they didn't want to hurt me and they thought i would be too sensitive for the treatment. I'd like to say i had no sensitivity or pain here and I definitely will be back to do other treatments.

Very rude employee told me I couldn't come there because they don't take my insurance. I said I could pay out of pocket and she told me if I did that I would LOSE my state insurance... called the insurance company and they said this is a COMPLETE LIE. So I guess they just don't like poor people!!!

I should have done a review long ago. This started back in June. Something happened to my tooth causing my face to swell and immense pain. My dentist who I had seen no longer viewed me as a patient because it had been too long. Cue waiting at a a supposed er dentist and being told I need to see a specialist and no help. I called so many places. Sobbing trying to find an emergency appt ANYWHERE. Cue me calling here. The receptionist, Mrs Palmieri, was so nice and understanding. She said I'll ask to move one of the other patients. They won't mind and we can get you in and seen. I came in fully not knowing if I was going to still be in pain or I'd be able to get some relief. They took x-rays fixed, told me I had an small abcess. I was not surprised considering my face was HUGE. They then started a root canal. Instant relief. I was never so thankful in my life. Dr. Palmieri is a life saver( as is his wife who got me in) and not only saved my tooth but has started working on the rest of my teeth. I've had several appts since then. My husband will be going to once he has more availability. Thank you so much !

I contacted this office 3 time to make an appointment for a tooth infection. I left a detailed explanation of what I desperately needed. I never received a call or email from the office explaining that they could not schedule me or they will get back to me. I'm so disappointed.

I have been coming here to see Dr. Palmieri for the past 5 plus years. Dr. Palmieri and his staff make you feel very comfortable and ensure throughout any procedure your getting that you are feeling ok. I have had multiple procedures and all were completed exceeding my expectations each time. I have had two major procedures done by Dr. Palmieri at two different times throughout my 5 years experience. He took the time to call me after both of those appointments to check in and see how I was doing. A simple thing as a phone call shows genuine care. I highly recommend Dr. Palmieri.

If I could give them a zero I would. This office is absolutely horrible. As an employee they constantly lied and were just plain awful. Dr Palmieri degrades his employees in front of patients and degrades patients in front of his employees. His prices are outrageous and he acts more like a used car salesman than a dentist. He doesn't have anyone's best interest in mind but himself. He is constantly late ( 30 minutes or more) in the morning and makes his patients sit in rooms while he sits in his office on his cell phone. His work is not consistent and is often sloppy. I've even witnessed him rushing through a patient and effecting their quality of care for his own benefit. If your looking for a new office or you've been a customer for a while reconsider. There are much better options.
