The story of G & G Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics began across the globe, miles, and miles from Naperville in a town named Downers Grove on the campus of Midwestern University. These two dental nerds (Dr. Cory and Dr. Nicole) were dental school classmates, and actually interviewed on the same day prior to starting dental school! Dr. Nicole claims she doesnt remember Dr. Cory at her interview, Dr. Cory knows that is definitely NOT the truth.
With persistence and multiple requests for study sessions with Dr. Nicole, they hit it off without a glitch. Dr. Nicole was not a fan of the human anatomy lab in dental school, and Dr. Cory helped her get past the awful smell of formaldehyde and a weak stomach. The rest is history.
Things were getting serious for these lovebirds and they decided to apply to their specialty residencies together. They decided that Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio was their top choice for training after traveling all over the country for multiple interviews. Fun fact: Dr. Nicole found out she matched at Case Western almost two months before Dr. Cory, who was left to sweat it out day after day until the pediatric dental match was announced. They matched at the same program (an incredibly rare feat for specialist couples)!
While they loved their time in Cleveland, they decided to move back to the Chicago suburbs where they got married and planted their roots. They are more than excited to share their knowledge and training with the community. More importantly, they are excited to meet all their patients in the surrounding area and cant wait for them to become a part of the G&G Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics family!
Dr. Cory Grathwol grew up in Sandusky, Ohio: home of Cedar Point and yes, he had season passes every year. He comes from a large Irish and German family who predominantly all live in Ohio, but he and Dr. Nicole make a point of seeing them often.
He attended the Ohio State University before moving to Illinois where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. Unlike many dentists, he never dreamed of becoming a dentist. Growing up, Dr. Cory told his parents he wanted to be a vet. During dental school, Dr. Cory was finding himself spending the majority of his free time in the pediatric dental clinic. He decided pediatric dentistry was his passion and the rest is history. He went on to obtain his specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry from Case Western Reserve University/Rainbow Babies & Childrens Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Nicole Gange Grathwol grew up in Itasca, Illinois where she spent the majority of her childhood in the same home. She went to Driscoll Catholic High School in Addison (touchy subject, her school closed one year after she graduated and she still hasnt mentally recovered). She decided leaving the state just wasnt for her so she stuck around and did her undergraduate training at DePaul University and called Lincoln Park her home for four years. Still not quite ready to spread her wings, she decided to attended Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois for dental school. This is where she claims to have spent a majority of her time playing hard to get from Dr. Cory (he sees things very differently).
In a decision nearly more shocking than Lebron James leaving Cleveland for Miami, Dr. Nicole moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she completed her Masters of Science in Orthodontics. She fell in love with Lake Erie with a little help from Dr. Cory. They spent their free time at Cleveland Indians games and eating their way through Little Italy and every ice cream parlor Northeast Ohio has to offer.

This was the third dentist office I've taken my kids to and I'm so glad I won't have to ever bring them to another! Love that you get that old school personal relationship with the docs (who own and take ownership for their practice) as well as hygienists who truly love and care for your kids. Even my 2 year old who doesn't let me brush his teeth did amazing in their care. Their bedside manner and professionalism was great. So glad we've found our forever dental care home.

The staff at G and G was absolutely amazing! Everyone was so nice and so welcoming to my son for his first visit! I would recommend them 1000%. Dr. Cory was the nicest guy ever and made my son feel comfortable and he actually enjoyed his visit. Dr. Cory explained everything he was doing and is amazing with kids! If you are looking for an amazing dentist DO NOT look any further and make an appointment today!

We're here for almost 3 years. Dr. Cory and his team are truly awesome! My two sons (one of has FXS syndrome) like to come, they smile before and after too. Dr. Cory always take care of them carefully. We honestly recommend them!

What a wonderful group! Front office staff- AMAZING! Answered any questions we had. Dr. Cory and assistants....... They are the answers to our prayers. Gentle, kind, and informative. My husband and I as young kids were traumatized by the dentist and we feared this for our boy! But the the rescue G&G dentistry!!!! My sweet boy has been blessed with the best team to fix his dental issues! Thank you all so much!

The staff at G&G are absolutely amazing! I brought my 2 kids there and they made us feel welcome and comfortable during our visits. My son has Autism and I was very nervous about his visit. The staff and Dr. Cory didn't bat an eye! They welcomed him with open arms and I could tell they were prepared and experienced with children with special needs. They treated him with so much patience and kindness. Even taking him for a walk around the office to explore while I spoke with Dr. Cory. I appreciate all they did for my kids and I am so happy that my friend recommended I switch to G&G. They treat you like family and my kids walked out with huge smiles!! Thank you to every single person in that office from the bottom of my heart!!

We live in Minnesota and were told by our son's original dentist that he would need to be put completely under to fill his numerous cavities. Like major surgery with major anesthesia. This is our first kid so we have no experience with dental work and thought this was our only option?! Luckily Dr. Grathwol and Dr. Gange are close friends of ours so immediately sent our file and x-rays to them for a second opinion. 3 months later we were on a plane to Chicago feeling so much better about the situation! Dr. Grathwol was able to fill all our son's cavities with a little laughing gas, lots of love and laughs! Dare I say he actually had fun during this longer appointment and even said he wouldn't mind going back for more fillings!! Dr. Grathwol said to just make sure we brush twice a day for now ;) As newer parents we so appreciate a Dr. who explored all options with us, especially the safest less invasive option. Dr. Grathwol kept us updated and educated throughout this whole process. But most important he kept things kid centered and safe for our son. The greatest gift a parent could ask for! The whole staff and team at GG were lovely to meet and work with. Online paperwork was quick and straightforward. Office was clean and inviting. My son loved the prize bucket! :) We will now be making a trip to GG at least once a year for all our dental needs! Nobody would trust more with our kiddos. Look forward to working with Dr. Gange next!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Cory and the team at G&G. Incredibly professional, funny, and treated my 7 year old with patience and respect. Dr. Cory is without a doubt the best pediatric dentist. My children love him so much, they feel very comfortable visiting him for their dental needs. As a mother I feel great seeing my children being so comfortable visiting dentist. Highly recommend this dentist.

Both Dr Cory and Dr Nicole are so sweet. Everyone in the office help to keep things light and fun for the kiddos. The staff are so cheerful. They are so accommodating to allow parents back with nervous kids.

Doctor Cory and the whole team did such a great job with our 6 year old, who was extremely anxious about going to the dentist. As soon as we left from the initial checkup, our son said he couldn't wait to go back! We just left after our second visit where he had 2 cavities filled. Again, Doctor Cory and the team did an exceptional job at making our son feel relaxed, explaining everything along the way. Can't recommend G&G enough!

From the second we walked in we felt welcomed! My 3 and 6 year old were all smiles the entire time! They were prompt and thorough! Working in the dental field I must admit I'm particular and was never happy with my children's prior dental exams. I am so happy we found G&G from the hygienist, to Dr. Cory, to the receptionist. I also love the ease of their software to complete dental history before hand!

First things first, I appreciate all the staff in this practice for making my kids first visit so at ease and treating them like family. I'm a Dental assistant and I hardly see that in a dental office. Dr. Cory was firm and down to earth when he explained every detail to me, for me that's hard to find a dentist that cares. best assure you that I feel comfortable that Dr. Cory will be my kids new dentist and my kids don't want to see anyone else but him from now on. We have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Corey. My daughter was very nervous but he not only put her at ease, he also put us as parents at ease as well. He's got a very positive and reassuring attitude that is so great to see. We can't see ourselves going anywhere else! Great location in downtown Naperville.
