Dr. Rachel Brown-McDonald graduated from The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2012, completed a one year general residency in southern Colorado, then settled in Grand Island shortly thereafter. She has enjoyed making Grand Island her home, becoming involved in the community, and providing quality general dentistry to her patients at Cottonwood Dental. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Nebraska Dental Association, and Hall County Dental Association. Dr. Brown is now a member of the American Laser Study club.
Dr. Brown-McDonald enjoys spending time with her husband, Austin, and their two children, Mara and Aiden. They enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, watching documentaries, and spending time outdoors.
Cathy grew up in Gibbon, Nebraska and graduated from Gibbon High School in 1982. In 1985 she graduated from Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska from the Dental Assisting program . In 1999, she earned her Associate's of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Since then, she has been working part-time at Cottonwood while subbing at other practices in the Grand Island area. She enjoys building a rapport with her patients and seeing their oral health and hygiene improve. Her and her husband Mike have three sons and 2 daughter-in-laws. They have been blessed with three grandchildren. When she is not working she enjoys traveling with friends to different countries and also around the US. She also likes to golf, garden, and spend weekends on the boat at the lake.
