Dr. Michael Furumoto graduated from the University of Southern California in 1976 with a degree in biology. He earned his doctorate degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1979. After graduating, he came back to Southern California, specifically Diamond Bar, where he has been practicing for 38 years.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, Tri-County Dental Association, the Orange County Cosmetic Dental Association, the Academy of Sports Dentistry, and is a certified Invisalign provider. He has been on the advisory board for Citrus College dental assisting program. Dr. Furumoto has also supported many local sports programs from AYSO to high school sports.
When not practicing dentistry, he likes to spend time with his family, which includes his wife of over 42 years, a son, a daughter, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, two dogs, a cat, and a horse; playing golf and basketball; going to the movies; and trying new restaurants.
Dr. Brent Furumoto graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2003 with a bachelors degree in psychology. He received his doctorate degree in dental surgery in 2006 from the Arthur A. Dugoni Pacific School of Dentistry, graduating with honors.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, Tri-County Dental Association, the Orange County Dental Association, and the Orange County Cosmetic Dental Association. Dr. Brent is a certified provider in Invisalign and using Biolase lasers.

The dental assistant is a clinical extension of your Diamond Bar dentist, and our assistants take great pride in caring for our patients. Addy, Veronica, Cathie, and Lupie are Registered Dental Assistants who take responsibility in continually bettering themselves in all aspects of dentistry.
Permanent teeth will begin to grow around age 6, and except for wisdom teeth, are all present between ages 12 and 14. The next teeth to grow in are the 12-year molars and finally the wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth typically begin breaking through from age 17 and on. The total number of permanent teeth is 32, though few people have room for all 32 teeth. This is why wisdom teeth are usually removed.
Your front teeth are called incisors. The sharp fang-like teeth are canines. The next side teeth are referred to as pre-molars or bicuspids, and the back teeth are molars. Your permanent teeth are the ones you keep for life, so it is vital that they are brushed and flossed regularly and that periodic check-ups by a dentist are followed.

I have always hated the dentist! I am the biggest chicken and I would just wait until I had a toothache to go. I went to Dr. Brent and Dr. Mike for the first time to have a cavity filled based on a referral from another one of their patients. Dr. Brent and Dr. Mike and their staff were so kind and did everything they could to help me not be scared. My experience there was so great and I am no longer scared of the dentist. For the passed 5 years of going to Furumoto Dentistry, I have seen a major change in the the quality of my teeth, since I am no longer scared to schedule my regular teeth cleaning appointments. I am so happy that I have found a great dentist!

I love my dentist along with my entire family! My last dentist had told me I needed a bone graph a few years back. I was scared and never took took care of it. I made an appointment here and had xrays and they told me I didn't need it at all! I was so excited to find a dentist that wasn't out to rip me off! This office is very friendly and professional! I feel at ease because they care Thank you!

I've been going to Dr. Furumoto my entire life and there hasn't been a single time I've dreaded going to the dentist. The staff are as friendly and welcoming as anyone could be. When talking to both Dr. Mike and Dr. Brent they're always very good at explaining everything going on with your treatment and making you feel like more than just a patient. I've even made my girlfriend and her entire family come to see Drs. Mike and Brent I enjoy coming here so much! If you're looking for a dentist anywhere near Diamond Bar, look no further. Furumoto Dentistry is the practice you should choose.

Having been a patient of Dr. Furumoto since the late 1970's, it is obvious that I enjoy the experience and appreciate the professionalism and expertise I receive. The staff is always friendly and available, the office is comfortable and the dental service is second to none. I know you're not supposed to like going to the dentist, but I enjoy each visit since everyone is always so great there. Plus Dr. Michael Furumoto provided us with our first babysitter in 1981! I suppose he might be considered a full-service dentist for our family!

Before switching to Furumoto Dentistry, I was driving all the way to USC for my dental services. Even though USC's faculty dental group was top notch, I decided to find a dentist closer to home. But I refused to compromise on quality and integrity, so I ignored all of the glitzy dental ads and searched for a dentist whose success can be measured by an impressively long track-record of service. And now, after several years of going to Furumoto Dentistry, I'm very happy with my choice. I've never been made to feel like a "customer" -- constantly pumped for more money via up-sells. Everyone seems well-trained and devoted to running an effective dental operation based on sound, proven dental practices. It really feels like an organization that, over many years, has found the right formula for success. Caveat: The building's small parking lot is tightly packed with an inadequate number of tiny parking spaces; beware of spaces in the adjacent parking lots that are restricted to other businesses.
