Through a variety of endodontic services, Dr. Steffan Scherer helps patients preserve and protect their natural teeth. Dr. Scherer is an expert endodontist with over 25 years of experience in his field and brings a high level of skill, compassion, and knowledge to his patients. He understands the nervousness some patients feel when undergoing dental treatment and helps them overcome anxiety to ensure a comfortable experience.
Dr. Scherer is from St. Paul, Minnesota, and was drawn to endodontics because it was the most challenging field of dentistry to him. The interesting part of endodontics is that most of his job is beyond what can be seen, even with a microscope, and he enjoys the challenge of finding and fixing dental problems below the surface.
He started his own dental practice in Bismarck, North Dakota, in 1994 and worked by himself for 18 years before moving to Texas in 2012. He worked in Lubbock until spring of 2021, when he created Full Smile Endodontics with the help of Dr. William Graves.
In developing this new practice, Dr. Scherer wanted to establish a place filled with positive energy and a sense of love and compassion for others. Being an endodontist is rewarding because he can relieve someone of their pain and lead them to better health by keeping their natural teeth. Dr. Scherer understands anxiety that can sometimes accompany dental treatment. When working with a nervous patient, he explains the procedure and offers a range of sedation options to ensure patients feel no pain.

The entire team was amazing, they got me in quickly and the procedure was quick and easy. The office mood is very laid back and friendly !! I would highly recommend !!

I had the most delightful experience with Dr.scherer and his staff! I was treated with phenomenal care I mean wow! Dr.scherer is very thoughtful and thorough, any questions I had he answered clearly and made sure I was very well informed of my treatment plan/ options available to me. Very respectful towards me as a patient which I was very thankful for! His team went above and beyond to make this experience the best for me. I recommend them highly.

Dr.Scherer was great at the initial evaluation, but was absolutely unprofessional and rude to my son on the day of his root canal. The sedation was having an adverse reaction on my son and instead of showing patience and compassion, he kept threatening to not do the procedure and belittling my son. His staff is great, but I would never recommend Dr Scherer to anyone, especially kids/teens. A formal complaint will be made.

Prompt, efficient visits. I was seen at my appointed time, staff was very courteous and worked with my schedule to make it all happen. They made my unplanned problem an easy fix, and that makes me a happy customer

Dr. Scherer and all of the dental assistants that helped with my daughter's root canal were amazing! She was very nervous, but they helped her relax and got her through the procedure. Friendly people and great care.

I have been terrified of the dentist. I have seen Dr. Scherer a couple of times now, recently. I went from being terrified to wanting to take a nap while having work done lol. Dr. Scherer and his whole staff is absolutely amazing. He made a tremendous difference for me and I won't go see anyone else other than him.

I can not say enough about this place!! Every single staff member was beyond nice and so professional. Dr. Scherer is absolutely fantastic. They took THE best care of me during my root canal and didn't feel any pain at all. Honestly the best experience I've ever had with my teeth. This place is is so wonderful and they take absolutely amazing care of you!!

From the moment I called in with my daughters emergency from the first call back everyone showed concern and our visit couldn't of gone better. The staff is so caring and kind. Dr. Stephen is amazing and he saved my daughters tooth. We are so grateful to him.

Dr. Scherer thoroughly explains all of the procedure process, he has advanced equipment and very helpful staff on the phones and in person! Excellent communication with the general providers and the staff coordinates the appointments! Highly recommend!
