After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Fritz attended the University of Maryland Dental School for his dental degree. He then completed a Dental Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and earned his certificate in orthodontics from Albert Einstein Medical Center. Since 2000, Dr. Fritz has been delivering the highest standard of orthodontic care for patients in and around Rockville, Maryland.
He and his wife, Melissa, have resided in Rockville for over 30 years, and they are proud to be raising their two children in Rockville as well.Outside the office, Dr. Fritz enjoys competing in triathlons and marathons, and he shares his passion for fitness with young athletes through a personal training program he is proud to be a part of.
Dr. Fritz is an active member of the community, and he proudly supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation through charity races and fundraising efforts. Upon entering the office, patients quickly learn about another one of Dr. Fritzs hobbieshis saltwater aquariums, located throughout the office.
Often wearing a sports jersey during his beloved football season, Dr. Fritz always has a smile and easy-going personality that immediately puts kids and adults at ease, making their orthodontic experience positive and stress-free.

Along with the American Association of Orthodontists, we recommend that a child receive their first orthodontic screening by age 7. Screening and treating, if necessary, at an early age allows us to catch potential problems at their onset and correct them before they become more serious. This saves time and money!
During your childs initial evaluation, we will determine if there are any problems that need to be addressed and the appropriate time to begin treatment. We may not recommend immediate treatment, but an early evaluation allows us to create the most efficient and most effective treatment plan.
No problem is beyond repair and you are never too old for a better smile! We offer a full range of treatments specifically designed for adults in order to give you a dramatically improved smile, as well as a better bite that includes healthier teeth and gums.
We offer a variety of treatment options, including braces and clear aligners. We will discuss the options that are right for you or your child, as the case may be, and work together to create the treatment plan that will achieve the best possible results! For those patients who choose braces, we offer advanced bracket technology, including Clarity and SmartClip braces.
Clarity brackets are small, sturdy, and clear, and they offer more comfortable treatment that is also less noticeable. The SmartClip bracket system uses a specially designed clip to hold the archwire in place, making braces more comfortable by reducing friction. This technology often reduces both treatment time and the frequency of visits to our office.
In addition to braces, we proudly offer clear aligners for minor tooth movement. The system of clear aligners provides patients with more flexibility in their treatment allowing them to remove the aligners to brush, floss, and eat.
Regardless of the specific treatment plan, we employ the latest in digital impression technology by using the 3M True Definition Intraoral Scanner. This advanced technology replaces the traditional, messy physical impression process, and enables us to easily keep our patients scans on file! These digital impressions help us create appliances and diagnose orthodontic issues with more precision, and outfit patients with their braces even faster.
Incognito Lite is a system of Lingual Braces which are securely attached with brackets to the back-side of each tooth being treated. They remain hidden from view and protected from any damage when eating, drinking, or talking. Incognito Lite Braces are slim and custom-made to fit your mouth.
This individual custom fit provides increased comfort and minimal irritation giving the user peace of mind. In essence, they allow you to make minimal changes to your smile without dealing with many of the issues normally associated with traditional braces.
The Incognito Lite System offers an ideal treatment option for adult relapse cases or for patients who need only minor anterior tooth movement. Patient comfort is maximized with brackets placed only 3-3, or 4-4 (if anchorage is needed). Most patients acclimate faster than with a full arch treatment. The average treatment time is 9-12 months.

Both kids need invisiline after years of orthodontia. You would never know they even wore braces for years. What a waste of money

CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM ENOUGH!!!! From the minute we stepped into the office until the moment we left, our experience was SO positive. Dr. Fritz and his entire team are not only knowledgeable but you can tell they genuinely care. Dr. Fritz even said a couple of times that he would look at my daughters treatment plan just like he did w/ his own children and I love that he is conservative when thinking about treatment options. I called for a couple of follow up items and they were friendly, quick and just so courteous. As a busy parent, the office staffs promptness was just so helpful.

My daughter and I, both originally from Ottawa Canada, had an amazing experience yesterday...generally not the case when one visits a dentist or orthodontist. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the environment was great...amazing aquariums and good background music. We live in Reston, VA, but the drive was well worth it. Thanks again!!

There are other great orthodontists out there, and then there's Dr Fritz. He's in a category of his own. He has an outstanding team of professionals who help him work in a very fast and efficient manner. You have to witness it for yourself. The atmosphere there is charged with positive energy.
