Everyone at Friendly Smiles Dental Office was really friendly. From the first interaction with the male receptionist at the front door, that assisted with paperwork & COVID screening, to the front office staff that reviewed my insurance card, to the X-ray technician, & dentist--they were all friendly. However...there is ONE dental hygienist that needs to make a PROFOUND attitude adjustment! Her name is Denise; she currently works at the Santa Maria office. Her attitude is atrocious. She was rude, unfriendly, & completely unprofessional in her interaction with me. I hope for her sake she changes her attitude--as no patient needs to encounter someone like her. It's evident that she has a chip on her shoulder about her choice of employment. If she doesn't like where she is employed, maybe be should seek employment elsewhere.

This office is a joke. I have been trying to get a hold of them for 5 days. I have sent three emails. They never answer the phone and I am shocked they have patients. They are AWFUL

I took my eldest daughter for an exam and cleaning and wasn't very comfortable to be here. It seemed very unorganized as we waited in the waiting room, it took much longer than anticipated. Then they tried to make me wait in the waiting room while my daughter had her xrays done, but I am not comfortable sending my child completely alone ,so I followed anyway and stood in the hall, which they weren't thrilled about. We felt unwelcomed. Thankfully she didn't have any cavities, and we ended up finding a new dentist in town.

I was told I have 9 cavaties. I was given a very sloppy dental cleaning and was left with some kind of sticky substance on my lips that didn't completely dissipate until 2 weeks later ( felt like pine sap it was so odd !) I decided to go to a Private dentist and pay full cash ...at which time I was informed and shown I had only 1 cavaty. Do not trust this dental facility. They are flat out liars crooks and completely dishonorable regarding the dental profession and care nothing for their patients. Their loyalty is with money.period.

The people her are absolutely awful. They were so mean to me when I was freaking out over the fact that they were trying to give me a root canal without any nose gas. They called me a baby for crying. And when I retorted at that them they basically yelled at me and told me that they were done with me. I would give this place negative 5 stars if I could. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. EVER!!!

IN THE PAST, I HAVE ALWAYS HATED GOING TO THE DENTIST TO GET A FILLING OR ANY DENTAL WORK DONE THAT I NEEDED....BUT EVER SINCE I EXPERIENCED THE FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL CARE FROM ALL THE STAFF AND ESPECIALLY THE OUTSTANDING WORK PREFORMED BY "ROGELIO BARRERA D.D.S." I ENJOY MAKING ALL NECESSARY APPOINTMENTS AND I AM % IN WITH ALL RESULTS!!!! IF ANYONE NEEDS ANY DENTAl WORK DONE, I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND GOING HERE!!! THANK YOU All AT "FRIENDLY SMILES DENRAL GROUP" AND ESPECIALLY I GIVE GREAT THANKS TO ROGELIO BARRERA D.D.S. Ok so I had a bad experience after a few visits and now I regret posting how great they are!!!! MY FACE WAS BLACK AND BLUE AND DO SWOLLEN for 3 weeks AND MY STITCHES FELL OUT WITHIN 30 minutes. They were so ruff and chipped one of my good teeth while working on a different one. I WILL NEVER GO TO FRIENDLY SMILES DENTAL OFFICE AGAIN

Absolutely the worst doctors, worst staff and worst customer service! Cannot express anything further about this place. Waste of my time! Just went for a regular scheduled cleaning and have been giving this place the benefit of a doubt for years and today was the last time. I've been there so many times over hearing personal conversations by doctors and staff. I wasted 1 hr of my busy morning leaving work. Skipping out on conference calls to be seated in a chair and take additional Xrays for nothing. After almost 1 hr of waiting for no one I pulled the stuff off myself and left. I approached the front desk and both ladies worthless to see that I'm walking out based off the service, I asked to please have someone call me back with my Xray results so I can use that for the next dentistry I'll be looking for, I highly doubt someone will call back. Considering having private insurance and still going to this place is my fault for continuing to go to Friendly Smiles. Highly do not recommend, they don't care about you as a patient. Same talk to each patient, don't waste your time here.

I don't like this Dentist because they are lying to you about your teeth so I went to another Dentist and they are cleaning my teeth better I don't recommend going there.

Very disorganized, over 2 hours waiting for a exam and cleaning. Don't recommend this place :(. I am sorry for my self for going to that place

I took my daughter in with a bad infection from a root canal done 5 years ago and she was already in so much pain from that and the doctor she had Dr Karapeshian was very rude and not calming or kind or gentle. She said she had told him she could feel everything and was crying the entire time but yet he continued with trying to extract the tooth. Thankfully my daughter spoke up and yelled at him and told him to get out. They had another doctor come in and she said she was much kinder and treated her with compassion. I thank this doctor for coming in when my daughter was crying in pain. When my daughter came out to me she was crying so hard she could barely breathe. As a mother this was heart breaking. The dentist can be a scary place for a lot of people and you should be treated with kindness and compassion and if you are missing that YOU SHOULD NOT BE A DENTIST!!!!!

The dentist office is good and bad, some know what they are doing and explain what they are doing and help you feel comfortable, others try to get you to pay for something you don't need done.

Great dentist and staff i was super scared and they were sensitive to my feelings and did a perfect amazing job from some one who fears dentist i reccomend them highly and i will be going back! Dentist name is alex he is the man.

I don't usually write reviews but I felt I needed to because I wouldn't want someone to go through what I did. I was told I had a cavity on my wisdom tooth. It never gave me a problem or pain whatsoever. The dentist had a wild look in his eye as he drilled most of my tooth away. This tooth looked healthy before. No spots or discoloration. When the numbing wore off, I was in an extreme amount of pain. I knew something was wrong. I waited for a month to see if it might get better. It hasn't. Now, it hurts constantly. Instant pain with hot, cold, or if I bite on that tooth. I went back to find out that the dentist drilled too close to my root and filling is either touching my root or close which is causing the reaction. Now, they want to pull it!!! I'm losing a healthy tooth that never caused any problem before. That's what led me to look at the reviews. I think I might go somewhere else. I got the notion that they didn't care about my pain or concerns that I'm losing a tooth because one of their dentists went drill happy on my tooth! I've been suffering for a month. Just to suffer the extreme pain of a wisdom tooth extraction. He'll send me home with cotton pads and a couple ibuprofens. I regret having my tooth worked on at all. If it ain't broke. Don't fix it.

This is the worst dentist I have ever been too. If I could give 0 starts I would. I went in for a simple extraction of one of my top wisdom teeth. Mind you it is completely grown out. Dr. Z was very rough, would not wait when I asked him to and gave me attitude because he hurt me, and left me with blood all over my face when I left his office. Needless to say I will never be going back there again. My jaw has never hurt this bad before
