Dr. Richard B. Dunning was born and raised in Mobile, AL, and earned his BS degree in biology at The University of Alabama-Birmingham. He went on to earn his DDS degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, and was commissioned into the United States Navy after completing school. During his commission he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program.
Dr. Dunning has been practicing dentistry since 1995 and has been in practice in North Carolina since 1999. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, The North Carolina Dental Society, and Gaston County Dental Society. In the 2015 Edition of The Leading Physicians of the World, Dr. Dunning was featured as one of the top dentists. He was also recognized for his outstanding and dedicated service as president of the Gaston County Dental Society. Dr. Dunning continues to give back to the community yearly: he participates in the Colgate Dental Screening Bus, Give Kids a Smile, and NC Mission of Mercy, serving thousands of locals who have dental needs. He is dedicated to staying up to date with advances in dentistry through participation in frequent continuing-education courses.
In his spare time, Dr. Dunning enjoys mentoring youth, spending time with friends, shopping, and traveling. Dr. Dunning and his wife, Valerie, have been married for 21 years and have two amazing children, Rosemary and Richard.

Dr B is Amazing!! I worried myself silly before my appointment to have one of my back teeth extracted. It was an old root canal that had gone bad and recently broke half the tooth off ! Ughhh ! Needless to say I dreaded that thing coming out ! Dr B came in and was very sweet and had an upbeat conversation with me , told me it wasn't a big deal and not to worry. He gave me the shot , went to work and Voila' !! I was still holding my mouth open for him to finish, when he said "Guess what , your done " !!! Woooooo hooooooo !! Hes the man !

Squeezed me in next morning to get crown put back in. The staff was great in prepping me for the procedure. Dr. Ganglani was very good at explaining what to expect and each step he was taking in the process. In and out in less than 20 minutes.

Staff very friendly, knowledgeable a d accomodating. Dr. Gangland answered questions in detail.... he even assisted with carrying out some of our items to the front desk due to hands full! Dr. Ganglani is very knowledgeable, professional and readily shared treatment plan and requested pt/ family Input.
