Dr. Richard B. Dunning was born and raised in Mobile, AL, and earned his BS degree in biology at The University of Alabama-Birmingham. He went on to earn his DDS degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, and was commissioned into the United States Navy after completing school. During his commission he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program.
Dr. Dunning has been practicing dentistry since 1995 and has been in practice in North Carolina since 1999. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, The North Carolina Dental Society, and Gaston County Dental Society. In the 2015 Edition of The Leading Physicians of the World, Dr. Dunning was featured as one of the top dentists. He was also recognized for his outstanding and dedicated service as president of the Gaston County Dental Society. Dr. Dunning continues to give back to the community yearly: he participates in the Colgate Dental Screening Bus, Give Kids a Smile, and NC Mission of Mercy, serving thousands of locals who have dental needs. He is dedicated to staying up to date with advances in dentistry through participation in frequent continuing-education courses.
In his spare time, Dr. Dunning enjoys mentoring youth, spending time with friends, shopping, and traveling. Dr. Dunning and his wife, Valerie, have been married for 21 years and have two amazing children, Rosemary and Richard.

New patient after being with the same dentist most of my life. Waiting area is nice and front desk assistant was very pleasant. A song came on while waiting that had inappropriate language. I listened closely before jumping to conclusions, but I heard correctly. I went to the young lady at the front desk and let her know. She immediately apologized and did not realize what was playing and switched the station. My hygienist Ricki was super nice, informative, and told me everything we did and what would take place. She was very thorough and kind. The dentist was very pleasant and detailed as well. In all I had a good experience. I do hope they will pay closer attention to music lyrics in the future, but everything else was great service.

As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a smile. Dawn is the greatest hygienist I've ever had She's very patient & always makes you feel comfortable. Everyone there is great. I always enjoy my visits with Dr. Patel. She goes over everything and while she's doing the procedures she is constantly making sure you are ok and not feeling any pain. Her assistant Raj was very nice and I enjoyed chatting with him. I could tell he was new but still done a very good job.

Today was the first day of a procedure to restore the health of my teeth from damages suspected from medication and grinding my teeth. I had worn my teeth down and caused my teeth to shorten, become mobile and other damage that had Changed my Appearance not only of my teeth but my jaw and facial features. Now the accolade.... Dr. Bouali and the office are Amazing!!!! Today alone looks as if I had facial and teeth lift. I look like me Again AND this is the temporary part. When the permanent procedure is complete I will show the before and after so You Can See the Amazing work Fresh Dental can do for you too. They spent Hours on me today to make it absolutely correct. BUT before today hours of explanation of what possible went wrong with my teeth and jaw was explained along with a procedure that I could afford. I even had a second opinion miles away in another town. This dentist also Totally Agreed spot on with Dr. Bouali and his team. Fancie will help you afford your plan of action if you can't do it all at once. Thank you Fancie for being there to support me with my way to healthy teeth with Dr. Bouali today. My nickname has been "SMILEY" and I can smile HUGE Again. Fresh Dental is Awesome. Try them and be as happy as I am today. Can't wait to get to the finish line. UPDATE: I have reached the finish line with beautiful results!!! Thank you so much Fresh Dental staff and Dr. Bouali. I am SO Happy with the finished results. I can not Recommend this dentist enough. Absolutely the Best!

Where do I start...From beginning to the end the staff was WONDERFUL ...My tech was AMAZING..He was very professional and knowledgeable about my concerns ( and he kept me smiling) When normally I'm nervous!!! Dr. Bouali is absolutely amazing, very efficient, professional, funny and kind. He really knows what he's doing and does it in a timely manner, he pulled my wisdom teeth and I felt no pain, it was quick and he eased my anxiety. Dr. Patel is also wonderful, she is very sweet and always checks in to make sure you're comfortable, she also is professional. Over all great experience! The front desk staff are polite and welcoming.
