Dr. Lorena Herrera was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and came to the USA in 1996 with her missionary parents and younger brother. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Texas at Arlington. Additionally, she then completed a post-baccalaureate certificate in Neuroscience at the University of Texas at Dallas. She received her dental education at Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry (former Baylor College of Dentistry) where she earned her Doctor of Dentistry degree.
Dr. Herrera is married to Joey Herrera and together they have a one-year-old little boy, Levi Jordan. He is a ray of sunshine and keeps them on their toes! In her spare time, she enjoys time with her family and three dogs. She loves to travel and try new and delicious food! She also loves going back home to Brazil to visit her extended family and have some fun, well-deserved beach time.
It is very special that Dr. Herrera was a dental assistant for 11 years prior to becoming a dentist. That experience helped her fall in love with the art of dentistry and her patients. She values the relationships she builds with each of her patients as she learns about them as unique and special people. Just as we always do at Fresh Dental, Dr. Herreras goal is to create a comfortable environment for the whole family while providing exceptional dental care.
