Dr. Richard B. Dunning was born and raised in Mobile, AL, and earned his BS degree in biology at The University of Alabama-Birmingham. He went on to earn his DDS degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, and was commissioned into the United States Navy after completing school. During his commission he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program.
Dr. Dunning has been practicing dentistry since 1995 and has been in practice in North Carolina since 1999. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, The North Carolina Dental Society, and Gaston County Dental Society. In the 2015 Edition of The Leading Physicians of the World, Dr. Dunning was featured as one of the top dentists. He was also recognized for his outstanding and dedicated service as president of the Gaston County Dental Society. Dr. Dunning continues to give back to the community yearly: he participates in the Colgate Dental Screening Bus, Give Kids a Smile, and NC Mission of Mercy, serving thousands of locals who have dental needs. He is dedicated to staying up to date with advances in dentistry through participation in frequent continuing-education courses.
In his spare time, Dr. Dunning enjoys mentoring youth, spending time with friends, shopping, and traveling. Dr. Dunning and his wife, Valerie, have been married for 21 years and have two amazing children, Rosemary and Richard.

I hate going to the dentist, however this has to be the most compassionate, thorough, and honest dental office I've ever been to. I was extremely impressed with every single staff member I encountered, from the dentist, Dr Hardiman, to all the staff behind the scenes. I'll be returning solely based on the experience and service I've received. Thank you so much for making me smile. (Gucci glasses was a nice touch)

Angelica and fresh dental worked with me and helped me reduce the cost of the 2 implants I needed. The dentists and hygienists are gentle and explain everything.

Yesterday was My first time going fresh dental they are so nice and helpful I came in knowing I didn't have insurance and needed a tooth removed they help me out with my financial situation and got me in and out in no time I definitely would recommend and go back again

Its like all the other reviews. My intital exam was the most comprehensive i ever had, then to put all the xrays images on a big screen tv to discuss a treatment plan. I will be going back for my dental needs. The staff was very friendly and cared about my well-being.

Dr. Boual and the team have really impressed me with their up to date high tech procedures as well as their warm welcome and professionalism. The office manager I think her name is Anjelica was supper considered and made my doctor visit experience an enjoyable one.

My mom was treated so kindly by staff and dentist. She needed a tooth pulled and was in pain. They cared for her immediately. The lady at the front desk (Angela), I believe is her name, helped her with her insurance and made sure she was so comfortable. Thank you for a good experience!

I, a 27 year old male, HATE the dentist office. But THIS dentist completely changed that for me. This office is an experience. They start ON TIME, they are super transparent and clean. The billing team is very transparent they walk you through EVERYTHING and do not act like car dealerships. The staff was extremely welcoming. I have never left the dentist wanting to come back. I am truly impressed on this experience. I can not wait for this to be my "family" dentist.

For this first consultation visit it was very good. The front desk, dental assistant and dentist were all very nice and easy to talk to, the exam was very through, current digital x-ray and office technology are used. I look forward to future visits and great results. Update: Erica my hygienist did and excellent job and made me feel very comfortable during my deep cleaning. Jamie displayed great chairside manner as she numb me for the deep cleaning especially needed because I'm an old baby when it comes to needles. The doctors are very concerned about giving good recommendations for your care and it was appreciated. I recommend Fresh Dental as a provider. Thank you Fresh Dental

From the receptionist, to Dental Assistant Ms. Jessica to the doctor, they were all great. I will be back for my follow up. Also the financial representative she was awesome and understood my issues. Ms. Jessica is a doll love her. I wish the business great success. I would recommend this place in a heart beat. I thank everyone for seeing me same day and giving me wonderful service.

I am so glad that I chose Fresh Dental. The staff is Awesome !! Great Dentist!! Very friendly and very gentle. She is very knowledgeable and skilled in her profession. Please ask for Dentist Hardiman. You will love her !! My hygienist was Awesome!! She explains each process to you as she works and makes you feel very comfortable and is very gentle. The entire staff is Great!! So if you are afraid of going to the Dentist. Then this is the place to go. They will take good care of you and make sure you are comfortable in your process to Great Dental Health!

Great and friendly staff! I went in for my initial exam and I must say I've never had such a detailed, informative exam like that. The dental hygienist Jamie ( I think that's her name) was amazing! She explained all the processes and answered any questions I had. The doctor was pleasant. I had a great first experience with them.
