Dr. Matthew J. Teramura is a second generation Japanese American born and raised herein the Bay Area. Dr. Teramura grew up in Union City, California. He graduatedfrom James Logan high school in 1992. He transferred from Chabot community college to the University ofCalifornia, Irvine in 1995. There heearned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Ecologyfrom the School of Social Ecology in 1998. He then attended the prestigious Boston University School of Dental Medicine were heearned his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree in 2003. After that he stayed an additional year toattendthe well known and respected post graduate residency program called Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Boston University. Here he fine tuned his skills and knowledge and upon completion of his residency in 2004he received his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in General Dentistry. During his residency Dr.Teramura passed the California Dental Boards and was able to move back home to the Bay Area were he has been practicing dentistry last 17 years.
Dr. Matthew Teramura is a member in good standing with the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), and the Southern Alameda County Dental Society (SACDS). He has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education to stay current and up to date with the latest technology and advances in dentistry today. Dr. Teramura practices general family dentistry anddoes very wellwith children. Areas of special interest and training include Oral Surgery: removal of impacted 3rd molars, Implant Dentistry, MolarEndodontics, Pediatrics, Estheticsand Cosmetic General Dentistry.

I wish that I can give 0 star if I could. My daughter has been going to this dentist for several years for regular checkups. The doctor is ok as we don't expect much from regular checkups though the equipment seems to be worse than the other dentistry we went to. We took our daughter there last week for a regular check up. The doctor told us that my daughter has a cavity. It was the first time that she was found to have a cavity. While I was telling my daughter that she can brush her teeth more thoroughly, the doctor got a needle and inserted into my daughter mouth. My daughter started crying painfully. I swear that I did not know what that is. I thought that was for deep cleaning. I would never expect that the doctor would inject anesthesia without our permission. He didn't even ask us if we were ok to fix her cavity right away. During his injection, my daughter was crying. I held her hands and told her to relax. This doctor yelled at her and pushed her to stop crying. My husband and I thought that my daughter was just panic because we think that he was just doing the cleaning! After he injected it, he immediately left the room without a word. My daughter then told me that she felt numb. Then I got very upset. I asked the front desk if we should stay or leave and where the doctor is, and why there is no any verbal communication through the whole process. Finally the doctor came and we started yelling at each other. I admitted that I should have been more calmful. The doctor blamed me to make big deal out of it. He did not inform us because that is his way to get the things done quickly without my daughter noticing. He said he was done with it and leaving the room. My husband stopped him and asked what exactly he did to our daughter. Then he told us he injected anesthesia. Until that moment, we finally know what had been done to her. As soon as we knew that, we decided to leave this dentistry and never come back. Honestly I'm still very upset for several reasons 1. Dr. Teramura never asked our permission to start this procedure. 2. He did not share a single word before and after the procedure. 3. He was very rude to my daughter by pushing her to stop crying. 4. He blamed us that we were supposed to know what happened. We were so stupid to think that was just a deep cleaning. Teramura is the worst doctor I have ever seen. If someone knows how I could file a complaint about this, please kindly let me know.

We've been going her for over four years, almost since th office was opened. Dr Teramura and his staff are always so gentle and kind. They do excellent work and out family and my young children feel very comfortable with him. Wonderful service and bedside manner makes this a great dentist to go to.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER i cant believe i wasted 1 year of my time with this dentist. 0 customer care. You don't get appointments at all. The minimum wait time is 1 month and timings you get is not at all suitable to your schedule. Recent experience - My daughter was under lot of pain so i took her here and they literally made me wait for 40 minutes. Even after requesting multiple times they did not pay attention and i took my daughter to other dentist. I will never recommend this dentist to anyone.

Absolutely among the best. The quality of service never goes down with the visit. Dr Teramura takes the required time for every patient; reception desk is good at providing reminders and helping to accommodate any specific needs. Staff is equally good.

I chose to go to this doctor to fix a difficult broken bridge way back in my mouth. He did a very great job. All i saw was he was a nice doc who would do only what is good for me period. He and his place is filled with people who are trustworthy. I am glad that I ended up with him finally though i had been around in the same location for a very long time now. Now me and my family go to him :)

I chose to go to this doctor to fix a difficult broken bridge way back in my mouth. He did a very great job. All i saw was he was a nice doc who would do only what is good for me period. He and his place is filled with people who are trustworthy. I am glad that I ended up with him finally though i had been around in the same location for a very long time now. Now me and my family go to him :)
