A native of the Emerald Coast, Dr. Trae Pappas grew up in Fort Walton Beach. He attended Louisiana State University where he earned his Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Business Administration. He attended the prestigious Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, graduating at the top of his class.
Dr. Pappas has extensive advanced training in cosmetics (veneers), implant placement and restoration, digital dentistry, endodontics, IV sedation, clear aligner therapy (Invisalign), All-on-X/Teeth in a day procedures, periodontal surgery, laser dentistry, and full-mouth rehabilitation. He has been awarded his Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and has been a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, and the National Dental Practice-based Research Network. He has participated in the prestigious Pikos Institute, DentalXP hands-on courses, and Live Implant Training for advanced surgical training under some of the best surgeons in the world. He has also served as a regional mentor for newly graduated dentists in Northwest Florida and participated in dental missions to underserved populations, including Haiti.
Dr. Pappas has an absolute fervor and passion for dentistry, and prides himself on delivering world-class dentistry in a compassionate manner. His emphasis on quality care is matched only by his focus on patient comfort. He strives to make sure his patients are comfortable with their dental care both mentally, physically and financially.
When not in the office, Dr. Pappas is likely outdoors enjoying all that our wonderful area has to offer. He enjoys fishing, surfing, boating, kiteboarding, paddleboarding and skiing. He also enjoys relaxing, playing the piano every day. Health is a major focus with a dedication to fitness, whether its in the gym, running or live sports. He also enjoys cooking, and maintaining a healthy diet. Most of all he loves spending quality time with family and his beautiful Boykin Spaniel Ellie Mae!

Donna joined this dental team in 1996 as a dental assistant. She has over 31 years of dental experience. She has lived in this area all of her life. Family is her priority so she spends as much time as she can with her family, especially her kids, mom, grandkids and boyfriend. On her off time, she loves to spend time outdoors and hunt.
Leanne joined our team in 2007. She is a lifetime resident of Crestview with 14 years of experience in dental assisting. She is a wife and mother of two daughters. She loves collecting recipes, reading, and the Crestview Bulldogs!
Carly joined this fantastic dental team in November of 2015. She has 17 years of administrative dental experience. She moved from Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Crestview with her husband in 2011 with 7th Special Forces Group. Sheis very familiar with the challenges that come along with military life and deployments as her husband spent 21 years in the military before retiring in May of 2019. She is pursuing her Bachelors in Psychology and enjoys working out, cycling, paddle boarding, relaxing on the beach and spending as much time outdoors as she can with her husband and son.
Amanda joined our dental team in January 2019. She moved to Florida 8 years ago from Oklahoma, and enjoys the sunshine state. She has 18 years of dental experience. Dental has been her passion since she was 12 and knocked out her front tooth in a bike accident. She enjoys snorkeling, SCUBA, anything on the beach and spending time with her shih tzu, Baby.
Yvonne has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for a little over six years now. She loves what she does and making people smile. She has an identical twin who also works with her. Spending quality time with her family is very special to her. She is very active and likes to maintain a healthy lifestyle from cooking at home to taking her dog Zeb for his daily walks. Music is a huge part of her life from watching local bands play to performing in her family band. Yvonne has a very outgoing and adventurous personality that can turn anyones frown upside down!
Christine is a registered dental hygienist that has been practicing for 9 years now. She and her husband have two wonderful children and one on the way. Christine enjoys spending quality time with her family and her Boykin Spaniel. She aspires to always carry a positive attitude and her love and passion shines through her smile.
Christi is a Registered Dental Hygienist and received her degree from Gulf Coast Community College. She has 17 years dental hygiene experience. Christi is a native of Northwest Florida. She is married with two sons and two step daughters. She enjoys fishing, boating, and camping.

Absolutely loved Dr Pappas and his staff! Everyone from the front desk, to the hygienist and Dr Pappas himself was so friendly and caring. What I most loved as a new patient was when I was leaving the front desk girl thanked me for becoming part of their family. She said they strive to treat everyone like family and once you are part of their practice you are family. Highly recommend this practice!! I literally have never experienced such amazing customer service anywhere!!

I would highly recommend Freedom Dental! Dr. Pappas and his staff are very kind and very professional. I came in for the first time last week in pain and they got me in that afternoon. My next appointment was towards the end of the month,they are pretty booked but offered to call me if they had any cancellations and to my surprise they called! I was in and out in no time.Dr. Pappas had his work cut out for him on my 3 extracts! He and his team are the best! I'm happy I have a new dentist! Thank you all for your care of me! Jena' Johnson

Freedom Dental is amazing! The front desk is always extremely friendly and welcoming. I have a very intense fear of needles and felt comfortable during a filling that required Novocain. I STRONGLY recommend Freedom Dental if you have a fear of needles. The hygienist and Dr. Papas were very understanding. (The hygienist even held my hand while I was getting the shot.) If you are afraid of going to the dentist, or if you have a fear of needles, you have to try Freedom Dental.

Very frustrated about Freedom Dental. Went there to fix my lower retainer paying 135$ they didn't glue it right with enough glue did a super cheap/fast work made my teeth shift out of the place making me feeling sensitive to brush and pain in my teeth. Went there to fix it after 48 hours they just removed the glue out of the metal not even removed from my teeth correctly what made very uncomfortable every time, refunded the money back after the damage. Sent me as a referral to another orthodontist making me pay 2x more expensive to do the job that they could have fix the problem THEY caused in my mouth. Now I have to use clear retainer to fix my shift teeth and then glue the permanent retainer back making my smile straight again. It stressed me out if you don't want to stress out about your permanent retainer don't get it or don't fix it from Freedom Dental

Easily a 5. Walked in no appt as my crown cap came off. They were super polite and took me in right away as they had a free spot. Dentist was super nice and office is spotless and comfortable. Price was very fair as well

I had my first visit today everyone was very pleasant and made it a great experience. Very clean environment. Sarah my hygienist was wonderful. I met Dr Pappas and look forward to great dental care from this practice. Front desk were all great. It was a great first time visit.

I love the atmosphere in this dental clinic. Everyone seems so friendly and accommodating. They even have complimentary drinks like coffee and tea, that I enjoyed while waiting for my son's cleaning. Their work was also great and explained everything I needed to know very well. Overall, I am happy to found this place.

Crestview is lucky to have such a great dental practice. I've had numerous dentists in the local area over many years and Dr. Pappas and his staff are the best. Dr. Pappas is extremely skilled and professional. You can trust that under his care you will not get any unnecessary procedures and the work you get will be top notch. Any good practice is nothing without great staff and Dr. Pappas's assistants, hygienists, and office staff are great as well. They are always friendly and knowledgeable about their respective duties. I'm very particular about who I see for my dentist and I'm very thankful for Freedom Dental. I highly recommend Freedom Dental the whole staff really goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable . The are honest and definitely put the customer first. I'm reviewing here after my filling it was done smooth and was not painful also I didn't experience any kind of pain or sensitivity after the treatment, best experience I ever had. Dr Pappas is quite gifted and very dedicated to the patient he is absolutely the very best he is caring. I have never encountered a dentist with better skills. Dr Pappas is amazing he explains everything to you very patiently and works according to your comfort. The Hygienist is exceptional also. The front office staff is professional, courteous , knowledgeable and friendly the staff is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend Freedom Dental to anyone in need of a Dentist. I had bone loss that other, older Dentists had told me would require false teeth. They said I wasn't a candidate for implants, but I really wanted them. When Dr. Pappas first took over the practice, he told me that I needed to do something about the teeth that were giving me trouble due to bone loss and I told him my dislike of false teeth. He suggested a "Sinus Flap" procedure that would give me the necessary bone and allow him to do implants. I was very apprehensive and went home to read about it. I asked countless questions which he answered with patience and detail. The entire process took several months due to the time needed for bone to grow. I had to come in for several steps. The staff was friendly, cooperative and I rarely had to wait more than ten minutes. At each step, he was careful, almost painless and very thorough. Yesterday I finished my last procedure and I couldn't be happier. I now have implants where other dentists told me they couldn't provide them. I was able to eat with them last night with no discomfort. They fit perfectly and feel like my natural teeth. Thanks the Dr. Pappas and the entire staff of Freedom Dental.

Not impressed. I suffered unnecessarily. Pain was dismissed. Horrible experience. Did not explain anything during a procedure. Had complications after. Got a second opinion. Retained fragments, abscess & dental fistula. Second opinion even said "I would not have gone near that tooth".
