Dr. Fredrick A. Lurie grew up in University Heights, Ohio. He graduated from Miami University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology. His passion for dentistryled him to The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1983. Upon graduation, Dr. Lurie spent a year asa General Practice Resident at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. His residency wasspent under the tutelage of community professionals developing advanced skills in patient care in all aspects of dentistry.In addition to attending advanced dental conferences and oral pathology classes, as well as caring for patients in dental settings, monthly service assignments had him working with physicians, the surgical anesthesia department, and the emergency room. After completing his residency, Dr. Lurieserved as a Clinical Instructor for the General Practice Residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center for 17 years and more specifically worked with with residents treating handicapped adults in an operating room setting.
Dr. Lurie establishedFredrick A. Lurie DDS, Inc. in June 1983 as an independent dental practice. He has maintained a vigorous continuing education schedule throughout his career, andhas beenconsistently recognizedas one of the areas top dentists.
Dr. Lurie recently celebrated his 37th anniversary with his wife Lisa. They havetwo sons and a daughter and now a son and daughter in law. They are now the proud grandparents of two beautiful (and of course wonderful) grandchildren. He still resides in University Heights, Ohio (in the same house he grew up). In his free time, Dr. Lurie enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and cheering on theCleveland sports teams. A lifelong Ohio State Buckeye, he's been known to bleed Scarlet and Gray. He's an avidanglerandties his own fly fishing fliesas a hobby.
Oxana was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. She has an accounting degree from her homeland. Always fascinated with the American way of life, she moved to the U.S. Shortly after, Oxana entered the field of dentistry and in 2011 received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Cuyahoga Community College. She resides in Orange Village and enjoys gardening, fitness and travel.
Renee has been a member of Dr. Lurie's dental team for over 20 years. Her responsibilities include reception duties and tending to each patient's specific scheduling needs while attempting to make their dental visits pleasant and successful. She also assists patients in scheduling referrals to appropriate dental specialists when necessary.
Renee is a graduate of Ohio State University with her degree in Elementary Education. She has been happily married for over 40 years and has two children and five grandchildren. Her interests include reading, walking, and enjoying time with family and friends.
Larissa Shoykhet is a registered Dental Hygienist receiving her Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1987 from Cuyahoga Community College. She has also received formal training as an Extended Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) from Case Western Reserve University in 1982. A veteran in the field of dentistry, she has dedicated over 34 years of her career providing preventive oral care to her patients. Larissa has spent 25 continuous years of practice with Dr. Lurie's team, supporting his vision and drive for providing outstanding service for his patient's oral health.
Ginny Shunk graduated from Cuyahoga Community College with an Associate 's Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1972. She then furthered her education by becoming an Expanded Function Dental Assistant(EFDA) to expand her dental knowledge and duties. A practicing Licensed Dental Hygienist for over 40 years, she is proud to have 'settled in 'l with Dr. Lurie 's team in the last 7 years! Belonging to several Study Groups, she loves attending continuing education courses and is always amazed at the advances in dentistry!
She is also a member of Dr. Lurie's business team as Office Coordinator assisting with patient management and office affairs. She enjoys all of the technological changes and challenges in our state-of-the-art practice!
Associated with Dr. Lurie's practice for almost 30 years, Dara has been a business team member. She has been happily married for 46 years and has 3 children and 9 grandchildren. She has been an invaluable asset to the practice throughout the years, initially in Twinsburg and now at the Beachwood office. Dara has had full-time employment in a medical office while assisting us on a part-time basis.
