Restorative dentistry is not just about improving the look of your teeth. Replacing or repairing teeth is vital for your dental health and for preserving your other teeth. When you have emptyspaces in your mouth, you can put stress on your natural teeth because there is not as much surface area for chewing.

MD causes significant pain, as the discs wear down and bone becomes exposed. Symptoms include soreness of the area around the joints, pain while chewingortalkin g,facial pain, a clicking of the joints andin severe casesdislocation of the jaw, which locks in an open mouth position. If you are suffering with these symptoms, you should see your dentist. The disorderneeds to be differentiated from other causes of facial pain.

We use a number of effective techniques to make your dental experience a calm and relaxing one, and conscious sedation is a preferred alternative for those who are nervous about dental care or those who want to have multiple dental procedures accomplished in one visit. You dont find this approach everywhere, because it requires special attention and equipment its one of the things that makes Smile Center unique.

You might need oral surgery for a lot of reasons. Most common is removal of your wisdom teeth, but oral surgery can also be a part of treating temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems, replacing missing teeth, and repairing a facial injury. We have an oral surgeon on staff at our facility, so we can take care of you right here in our office!

Pediatric dentistry focuses on the oral health and development of infants and children through their adolescent years. Your dentist will ensure that your childs teeth are developing properly and will evaluate the need for any orthodontics.

Endodontics is another word for root canal treatment. If you have an infected tooth, and the infection has spread to the surrounding pulp or into the nerve, you need a root canal. A root canal is a procedure in whichour dentist will remove the infected pulp, and the nerve if necessary. Our dentist will then seal the opening to prevent any future infection.

Invisalign is a great option for teenagers, young adults, and older adults who want straighter teeth but want to get them in a discrete way. Many people who are beginning to research Invisalign have the impression that Invisalign consists of simple trays that you slip in and out of your mouth. While this is true, there is also a lesser-known aspect of Invisalign that people should keep in mind. This is the Invisalign attachment, which are small buttons placed on oddly shaped, angled, or sized teeth to help with alignment correction.

There are a number of Invisalign attachment types. Attachments generally come as a triangular, square, or circular shape depending on the type and purpose of the attachment. These attachments are usually placed on the middle of the tooth and are tooth-colored to help keep them as invisible as possible. The type of attachment you receive will depend on if your goal is fixing a tooth extrusion, intrusion, or rotation.

Attachments are used as anchors for the Invisalign aligners so that your Invisalign fits better and works more effectively as you wear them. This will result in straighter teeth with a faster, smoother process.

Not every person will require attachments, as it varies per person and per plan, but attachments do allow more people access to Invisalign. This is because attachments allow more tooth movements that would be impossible without them.

To help prevent stains, anytime that one chooses to drink a darker beverage, using a straw should help prevent any stain. If the attachments become visibly stained, it is recommended to discuss this with your dentist to see if they have any solution to help whiten the stain. They are able to assist with this whitening.
