I love coming to work and have enjoyed every single day for the last 25 years. There is nothing I know, or can imagine, that satisfies me more than interacting with my little patients and helping to take care of their dental health.

It is inspiring to make a connection with a child who is fearful of dentistry, creating trust and helping them feel safe and secure. It is fulfilling to care for children who are underserved, providing them with the highest-quality of care and helping establish oral health. And it is rewarding to be surrounded by happy, healthy, growing smiles and to know my team and I have played a role in developing them!

I grew up in Madras, India, and attended Madras Dental College, where I completed my dental degree in 1989. I then served as Clinical Assistant in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Leeds Dental School in Leeds, England. This was followed with service as Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry at the Charles Clifford Dental School in Sheffield, England.

Moving to the United States, I completed a two-year Advanced General Dentistry Residency at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Remaining at the school, I then completed a two-year Pediatric Dental Residency, while also attending graduate school: I was awarded a Masters Degree in Dental Science by the Graduate School of the University of Connecticut.

For more than 15 years I have been on the Deans Faculty with the University of Maryland, Department of Pediatric Dentistry. I have also worked, for over ten years, with the Maryland State Dental Association and Frederick County Dental Associationas an Executive Committee Member, and for eight years as an Executive Committee Member with the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Oral healthcare, and especially the pediatric dentistry specialty, is constantly changing. In addition to my teaching activities, I regularly participate in continuing education to keep up-to-date on the latest treatment modalities. Learning new techniques ensures that my clinical treatmentmeetsand exceedsthe standards.

My wife, Dr. Savithri Sivakumar, was a classmate in dental school. She works with the Frederick County Health Department and at our office. Our daughter completed her undergraduate studies at the Johns Hopkins University with a double major in Spanish and Molecular and Cellular Biology; she is now at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School and has a keen interest in Pediatric Dentistry.

My favorite times, if Im not caring for growing smiles, are spent with family and friends. I enjoy traveling and make it a point tovisitIndia at least once a year. Closer to home, I like chilling in the Bethany Beach area, playing badminton, and watching cricket.

I enjoy providing care to patients and getting to know them from infancy to young adulthood, striving to instill an appreciation for the importance of oral health. The impact a pediatric dentist can make in the wellbeing of a child goes further than just clean teeth: we teach them to trust their own ability to cope with things they might fear and learn that with the right outlook, they can achieve anything!

After practicing pediatric dentistry for 25 years, I can say I love my profession now more than ever. It is an honor to have the opportunity to teach a child to have a positive dental attitude at an early age knowinghow much of a lasting impact it will have on their future health.

Dr. Savi earned her dental degree in Madras, Indeai, graduating from Madras Dental College in 1987. She then worked in private practice in India before moving to the U.K. to continueas an honorary Senior House Officer in oral surgery at the Rotherham General Hospital in Yorkshire, UK.

After moving to the United States, Dr. Savi completed a pediatric dental residency the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicinein 1994, and A Masters in Dental Science IN 1997. She then taught for six years as a clinical faculty member atthe Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Connecticut. From 2003, she became a faculty member atthe University of Maryland School of Dental Surgery, and taught pediatric dentistry to both post-graduates and undergraduates until 2009.

Committed to providing patients with proven, advanced care, Dr. Savi actively seeks out continuing educational opportunities. This keeps her current on the latest techniques, materials, and evidence-based knowledge. Her patients benefit from receiving the best care that can be provided.

Dr. Savi is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. These organizations offer numerous continuing education opportunities, including conferences, seminars, online courses, and journals.

Dr. Savi and her husband, Dr. Sivi, have been a part of the Frederick community for 18 years, having resided in Frederick county since 2003. Their daughter currently attends dental school at the University of Pennsylvania. In her free time, Dr. Savi treasures time with friends and enjoys cooking, yoga, and gardening.

I love working with children and am committed to bettering each childs oral health through positive dental experience. I believe that fun and worry-free dental visits as a child, with a focus on prevention of dental disease through education, are important to achieve lifelong oral health.

Dr. Little then attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where she was awarded her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Her Pediatric Dental Residency was completed at Childrens National Medical Center in Washington, DC. During her residency, Dr. Little focused on comprehensive treatment of the pediatric patient. This included treatment of patients with special healthcare needs, emergency dental management, and dental rehabilitation under conscious sedation and general anesthesia.

Dr. Little believes it is important to keep up with current topics in pediatric dentistry in order to treat patients with the best available information. A lifelong learner, she participates in numerous continuing educational opportunities throughout the year.

Dr. Little is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Through these organizations she has access to research and training in the latest advancements in technologies, materials, and treatment modalities.

Dr. Banks is a board certified pediatric dentist. He is a graduate of Salisbury University in Maryland, where he received his Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. Dr. Banks continued his education at Howard University College of Dentistry, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

During both school and residency, Dr. Banks felt it was important to give back; he has been mentoring for the past 6 years. From working in Summer Medical and Dental Education Programs and being the Chair of the Oral Cancer Walk in D.C., to teaching and mentoring kids of all ages, Dr. Banks understands the importance of education, community, and giving back.

This was my daughter's first visit and Dr. Patel was very nice and helpful and we didn't have to wait long to be seen. The office was very busy so the waiting room was very full and the office is huge so it is somewhat overwhelming but overall nice experience and we will be returning!

I wanted to schedule an appointment for my kids since they have good reviews but no one answers their phone. I've already called 4 times and it goes to the voicemail after hearing the automated message for a few minutes..

The office is great, from check in, thru check out. We've had a chance to interact with 3 different doctors, each one had a very special and friendly approach toward my daughter, made her feel at ease and left the place with a a smile on her face. Would very much recommend!

Dr Sivi and Dr Banks are PHENOMENAL. Our family has been going here over ten years and still as great as the first visit. Fast gentle and all u could hope for, when developing good relationships for life long dental habits for ur children. If i had a dentist like this growing up my chances of retaining good oral hygiene would have increased ten fold! Give them a try... u wont regret it!!

They performed procedures that weren't requested and tried to place blame for their mistakes on the parents. I'm not sure how this place was given such decent ratings when their customer service is remarkably terrible. Go here at your own risk!

Our first time at the office. Dr. Nicki (sorry if I miss spelled it) and her staff was very welcoming from the moment my daughter and I walked through the door. Thank you for being patient and singing to her while she cried. Looking forward to our next visit.
