Dr. Chris Frederick first fell in love with Boulder in 1994 when he attended the University of Colorado where he studied Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Upon graduating in 1998 Dr. Frederick spent several years in various occupations ranging from stock brokerage to raft guiding and eventually was introduced to the field of dentistry as a dental assistant. It didn't take long to realize that a career in dentistry provided the perfect fit of artistry, science, and service that he had been looking for. Dr. Frederick attended Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia and after graduating in 2008 moved back to Boulder to begin practicing dentistry. Dr. Frederick is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and participates in local study groups for advanced dental training.
In the summer of 2015, Dr. Frederick had the opportunity to acquire the practice of Dr. Steven Buffer who had been practicing in Boulder for over 30 years. Dr. Frederick is honored to continue Dr. Buffer's legacy of excellent care and is excited to update the practice with new digital technology.
Though passionate about the field of dentistry, Dr. Frederick maintains balance in life by taking advantage of all Colorado has to offer. He is an avid snowboarder, whitewater kayaker, mountain biker, amateur shutterbug, and lover of music.

A last minute appointment to clear me a surgery did not result in the outcome I expected. While that is always frustrating, the great staff and Dr Frederick took the time a great care to explain what they had found and what course I needed to pursue was extremely helpful. In general, the office is top notch, and the staff was very professional and knowledgeable. I enjoyed and appreciated a routine cleaning and check up!!

Frederick dental is a great choice for all your dental needs. As someone who's always been fearful of the dentists office this place is great! Dr Frederick does great work and all the hygienists I've had have been amazing. Shout out to John for the cleaning and conversation today!

I would highly recommend visiting this place for all your dental needs! The doctor is phenomenal to work with and he listens to your requests/concerns. Dr. Frederick does not push his patients to do unnecessary treatments, rather he strains the importance to do certain treatments in order to prevent detrimental dental issues from occurring in the first place. The doctor fabricates in-house crowns and also has a 3-D printer for night guards/retainers. Even alignment therapy is offered, which is so cool in my opinion! Lastly, the staff is great to work with. The front desk welcomes you with a smile and makes sure to handle all of your paperwork accordingly. And the dental assistant there is super friendly and makes sure that you're comfortable during the whole visit!

I came here last minute for some tooth pain and the whole team did a great job making me feel comfortable and like I was in good hands! Never once did I feel like they were pushing me to do unnecessary work- they got the job done and I really appreciated that! Plus the massage feature on the chair was really nice. Thank you!

Referred to Dr. Frederick by Oral Surgeon Dr. Clayton Harper of Boulder Creek Implant & Oral Surgery. Dr. Frederick and his staff took very good care of me; and the cleaning was a breeze. Such friendly staff!! I would highly recommend Dr. Frederick if you want a Dentist who is personable; with a great playlist while your in the chair!

You know...there is not a lot of dentists in the world that you actually look forward to going to, but Dr. Frederick's office is one of those rare exceptions. His whole team is relaxed, super competent, really you can almost fall asleep in the chair knowing that you're in good hands. One thing that I didn't realize is that they also do "alignment therapy" for mild/moderate orthodontic cases (with a series of 3d printed invisible retainers at 1/2 the price of a traditional orthodontic run) and cooler still....Dr. Frederick uses a specialized milling machine to computer generate and cnc crowns on premise in a half an hour ...so no temporaries, no two or three visits. Anyway, super grateful that we have such a consumate, good spirited professional in our midst! Be Boulder!

We see Dr Frederick even though he is out of network. We lost our home in the Marshall Fire and he immediately stepped in to help support us. I can't recommend him and his staff enough!

I've been coming to Frederick Dental for around 4 years now. I've always had a great experience. Everyone is friendly and communicative and helpful. They seem to got all their ducks in a row. I also really enjoy their decorations and Dr. Frederick's vibe, but they would get 5 stars regardless.
