I highly recommend this dental practice. I haven't lived in Florida long. I was a patient at another unaffiliated practice and was disappointed with the care I received. Dr. Duke and the staff at Thurston listened to my concerns, set up and executed a thorough and satisfying treatment plan. They corrected the things that were ignored or misdiagnosed. I don't have dental insurance so I signed up for their discount plan and found it to be beneficial. Their were no hidden fees or costs. The office is modern with a pleasant comfortable environment. The staff friendly and knowledgeable. I never liked going to the dentist so I am happy to say they made the experience comfortable, caring and painless.

After long search for dental repair following radiation and chemo treatment for head and neck cancer and covid ,was referred by lifetime friend of family was referred to Dr T who immediately responded to infection and started plan for repairing damage after clearing infection other ( Specialists ) had not been able to treat or willing to tackle . THANK YOU , DR T and Staff for your Help and Support thru this Life changing Experience ! Will always refer anyone needing dental care to these Specialists at Thurston Comprehensive Care . Thanks !

Dental and cleaning were very professional. Prices are high. Said it would cost $50,000 for implants and $12,000 for dentures. I switched dentists.

Tricky wisdom tooth + bleeding gums! I am new to this area, found this office and highly pleased with the thorough, honest and friendly office. The office is welcoming and helped me in my time of need! Story: I struggled with left cheek/tooth pain for 2 days, so found this office here on google, called to make my appt, which they took me in the next day! The office is clean and straight to the point. I waited about 10 mins and was taken to the back chair. I explained that I could not pin point the tooth, but my check and face was hurting for 2 days. They took many pictures at many angles with a canon camera which was different, then a CT scan around my head, then X-rays. The comforting and experienced nature of the staff definitely eased my anxiety around all I was going through. Dr Duke came shortly after, professional, friendly, thorough in his questions and a great listener. My mystery pain, was hard to pin point, in the 1st visit, because it turned out he found a sinus infection revealed in the CT scan. Dr Duke suggested it was best to go home with antibiotics, clear up the sinus infection, and come for a 2nd appt a few days later to see if we could pin point which tooth was causing the pain more accurately. It seemed to be between 3 different teeth, so he didn't just guess and remove teeth without being absolutely sure! The 2nd appt came, and I told him the pain was worse despite antibiotics, so he did some poking and feeling, and finally he figured out it was the wisdom tooth, however the pain was referring to the two teeth in front of it! Crazy because I could've sworn it was the one by it at first! After the poking he did to figure this out, my pain came back, and he numbed me right away to ease it. Since I had been experiencing general bleeding in my gums for about 2 weeks, his plan for me was to get a cleaning while I was numb, and then extract the wisdom tooth after. Beryl, the hygienist, cleaned my soul! Lol. She is no joke, seriously, hands down the best hygienist I've ever had, huge difference from others right away. She's so intense, and I could tell she was a perfectionist is cleaning my teeth bc she took her time, and was comforting during the process, making sure I was okay during the cleaning which can sometimes feel intense. I had a lot of tarter and she would use numbing cream if I felt tender in certain areas. I had general bleeding, so Beryl was an essential part of this process! They gave me an electric toothbrush and she showed me how to use it accurately and an anti microbial mouth rinse to use until it's done. So all in all, excellent cleaning, and mystery pain solved and resolved! The extraction happened immediately after some more numbing, and it was super quick and felt pressure but no pain! I've never had a wisdom pulled, so the numbing was exceptional because it did not hurt at all. I was a little sore when I was at home after it wore off a bit but they gave me some advil and that was enough. The instructions for home care were clear and accurate. Dr Duke even texted me that evening to see how I was doing. I wore the gauze the rest of the day, switched it out twice, and the next day I didn't need gauze anymore. The bleeding stopped. I was eating and feeling like normal even though I'm still healing. The bleeding only lasted for about 12 hours. Dr Duke thabk you for becoming my new dentist and all of you angels! Sorry so long, but seriously thank you

While on vacation from England I needed an emergency extraction of one of my molars. Before going ahead Dr Thurston and his team made sure there was no other option than to extract. Once we had confirmed the course of treatment we went ahead. They kept me informed and comfortable throughout my entire appointment and the extraction was quick and painless! I cannot rate them highly enough. If you're looking for a local dentist or just need emergency treatment while in town I assure you, you cannot go wrong with this Dental Centre. Thank you Dr Thurston and all of the staff at Thurston Comprehensive Dental Centre!

Words can't explain how much I appreciate Dr. Duke & his staff. I got sick back in May & had a handful of issues, chronic head pressure, bronchitis, jaw pain, & ear fluttering (ttts). I went to see 4 different doctors & none of them could help me. I went to Dr. Duke & told him I had been dealing with all this for 6+ months & that it was starting to weigh on my mental health. That same day he fixed ALL the issues. I could cry writing this post, that is how much it meant to me that he took the time to listen and help me.. I will forever be grateful for him & the staff. The thing that makes him different from some other doctors is he really cares, truly cares about you as a person.

My name is Lydia and I recently relocated to Florida from CT. Dental care is a very traumatic experience for me. I was referred to Thurston Comprehensive Dental Center from someone in my community. The moment I met the receptionist (Mary) I felt comfortable. She assured me that my dental experience would be a good one and she was correct. From the dental assistant to Dr. Duke the communication and ongoing procedure has been excellent. I highly recommend Thurston Comprehensive Dental to anyone in need of dental work.

Finally! The dental clinic of my dreams! This is by FAR the most professional, caring and efficient clinic I have ever in my 7 decades been to. I have an unusual allergy to all the numbing methods standardly used so something else had to be found for me. All these years I have had to withstand tremendous pain when having a filling, etc. but Dr. Duke researched extensively and found the answer. I just had a procedure done today and it was totally painless! So professional and above and beyond what any dentist has ever done for me. His assistant, Chevelle, is also so very competent, professional and caring. The whole staff is the same- just so caring and professional. The clinic itself is lovely and so modern and up-to-date. Very comfortable with state-of-the-art equipment. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Professional and caring throughout the implant and in-house work. Professional from reception, Doctors and staff to follow up. A 5 star + Rating.

I have had several implants in the past. After relocating to Florida, i needed to find a dentist. I found Thurston Comprehensive Dental Center in Auburndale. From the very first visit I have been impressed and very pleased with all services. Dr Thurston just completed a very difficult implant "redo" today and the entire procedure which took 3 months was amazing! No pain and no problems. This center is truly 5 stars!

Just had the first adjustment on my new upper and lower full denture implants. It was a minor adjustment because my new teeth far exceeded my expectations!! Dr Thurston, your awesome, and you staffed the office full of professional,polite caring individuals that I had the pleasure of sitting with. From financing to designing my new teeth,to creating Pearl's of white, each one,and you know who you are,took the time to make ME feel like the most important person,in the office that day! Full upper and lower dentures are an investment in me plan. Having "removable" dentures that feel as "secure" as my original teeth,because of implants was a complete surprise.!!! Is it worth the cost? Absolutely!! If your over the glue,the wiggle if ill fitting dentures,the pain while eating, than Denture Implants can eliminate all that. Thurston Dental did that for me, and I want to take the time to thank everyone for that!! To all the staff at Thurston Dental, My Sincerest Appreciation !!!

Dr. Parker Duke is the best dentist my wife and I have ever been to. We are seniors, moved to Haines City last year and discovered Thurston Dental at our community health fair. Dr. Duke and his assistant Chevelle have completely restored my wife's upper and lower teeth giving her confidence and a beautiful smile, she is over the moon! She had been suffering with a bad smile for years and we were afraid she'd need dentures, but were relieved that he could save her natural teeth. This is a one stop shop, no running around to specialists for extractions, root canals, and implants; they even have their own dental lab with a perfectionist technician creating beautiful crowns and bridges fitting like natural teeth. Dr. Duke really cares, taking his time, making sure everything is perfect; and even texting us in the evening after procedures. The office is immaculate and entire staff at Thurston Dental (I wish I could name them all) are amazing, friendly, and competent. They have a great discount plan which includes panoramic x-rays, exam, 2 cleanings per year and an emergency visit. It is so nice to have a caring dentist we can rely on. We tried those big dental chains in the past and didn't like having a different rookie dentist every time we went, with no continuity of care and lots of upselling. I know I sound like a commercial for them, but I have high regards for Dr. Duke and the staff.

GO HERE!! Having worked in the dental industry for 25+ years, I take finding a dentist seriously. Dr. Duke was referred by a previous coworker Chevelle (also my friend), as she knows I don't let just anyone do my dental work. From the time I walked in the office, they we're friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and wearing the proper PPE(personal protective equipment), which for me is so important, especially now being in active chemo treatment! They used up to date and new dental equipment that enables extra safety precautions for both myself and the staff, for my cleaning and the other dental work I needed. They were able to do all my work in one day due to a cancellation in their schedule, which I was very thankful for. Dr. Duke is friendly, thorough and honestly concerned about his patients' oral health. He is someone that truly loves what he does, and he also cares and respects the team around him. If you're looking for a dentist you absolutely should go here; you wont be disappointed!!

I absolutely LOVE this office and the staff. Dr. Duke pulled off a miracle yesterday and we are extremely grateful for him, his talent, and his care for the patients. There assistants are just as amazing. My 13 year old was at school when a kid and my son collided while at PE. My son's front bottom permanent tooth ended up getting knocked out and hanging on by a thread. I called the the office and they had us come in right away. When I got there the staff was waiting and ready for us. After a few x-rays and a review with me on the treatment plan/course of action Dr. Duke was able to remove the tooth that broke in half 3mm below the gum line, remove the nerve, and replace the tooth back into the spot with bonding the tooth to the other front teeth until we can get into the Orthodontist. My sons mouth was bleeding and tons of saliva. Dr Duke was unsure if he could save it and make it work. But him and his team worked really hard and we're unwilling to give up. They pulled off a miracle. 2 1/2 hours later we left with a tooth in place. The bonus of all this was this incident happened in the late afternoon and the doctor and the staff stayed late to ensure my son was taken care of. THEY CARE ABOUT PEOPLE!!!! I cannot thank them enough or brag on how amazing they are. We've been coming to Thurston Comprehensive for over 16 years and I will not go anywhere else. Every time we step in this office we are well taken care of. Highly recommend.

Dr. Thurston has been my dentist for a while now and I can confidently say that he and his team are the best of the best! I recently had a root canal done and Dr. Thurston made sure the procedure was comfortable and painless. Between the knowledge and friendliness of the staff, and the cleanliness and professionalism of the office, They are always my first and only choice for any dental work that I need!
