Baby teeth are important teeth, forming a foundation for good oral health and smile aesthetics that last a lifetime. The professionals at Frederick Cosmetic & Family Dentistry inFrederick, MD loveserving young patients through innovative and gentle pediatric dentistry. We carefully evaluateand treatteeth, gums and even developing bone structure for best functioning and best looking young smiles.

Parental involvement in kids' oral health helps prevent tooth decay--the number one chronic health problem in American children. The staff at Frederick Cosmetic & Family Dentistryteaches kids and parents that mom and dad must brush toddlers' teeth for them and supervise kids at least up to the age of 8. Twice daily brushing with a soft-bristled brush and a small amount of fluoride toothpaste is the rule, and parents must realize that young children do not have the dexterity to brush and floss by themselves.

Our staff also stresses nutritious, low-sugar diets and drinking plenty of water to wash tooth surfaces and promote theproduction of saliva. Saliva keeps teeth and gums clean--important in between meals and during the night.

Additionally, the pediatric dentist often recommends fluoride treatments and plastic sealants for young teeth--particularly molars that have intricately-grooved chewing surfaces. These simple 'painted-on' dental materials quickly and comfortably provide protection against decay, and for adults, fluoride reduces dental sensitivity.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry advises that any decay found in children's teeth be treated. The health and development of baby teeth impacthow their adult teeth look, function and erupt into the mouth. Furthermore, it's wise for children to receive a complete orthodontic evaluation by age 7. Early orthodontic treatment wards off problems from crooked teeth later on in life--decay, gum disease, and self-image issues specifically. Early intervention takes advantage of the developing jaw, making treatment easier and less complex than older teen or adult treatment.

Here at Love Family Dentistry, we truly care about all of our patients. In fact, we consider them family, and this feeling is evident in all we do. Whether your children need routine cleanings, fillings or emergency dental services, we always do our best to provide quality children's dentistry in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

Of course, being well taken care of isn't the reason you bring your children in for children's dentistry. More than anything, you want to know that they will receive quality care. Thankfully, that is just what you get when you visit Love Family Dentistry--quality dentistry in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Always a pleasant experience. Professional, relaxing music, and keeps the conversation going... even when you're unable to speak. Dr. Fohl has taken great care of my family's dental health needs over the years. Congrats to her on the new location on TJ Drive.

Very understanding. I brought my newborn to my appointment and they let her sit with my son in waiting room while I got my teeth cleaned. Great with my 8 yeat old son. The office wasn't very busy and a new receptionist was learning her job so it felt a little confusing. I had to complete the same paper documents 2 times and they appeared to be for a child. They asked my SSN 4 times. I think the registration and log in process could be streamlined a lot.

Today was my first visit with Dr Fohl after many years with Dr Piersall. It was a great visit, and having spent many hours in a Dentist's chair I came away with a great amount of relief and satisfaction (Dr Piersall moved out of state and the apprehension of a new Dentist is real.) I feel this is going to work out very well.

I've never been to a dentist where the dentist actually did the cleaning him/herself. Usually the dental hygienist does the whole dental cleaning, and then the dentist pops in at the end to look at your teeth for literally two minutes. Dr. Foell was working on my teeth for the duration of my appointment. Very friendly and personable. Also very knowledgeable and gives good recommendations.

I have found my forever dentist!! Dr. Fohl is absolutely amazing! She's so nice and talks to you throughout the entire visit, making you feel as comfortable as possible. She explained everything on my X-rays and answered all questions I had. My last dentist had me coming back monthly for cavities that were nonexistent and brought up new procedures (that I didn't need) every time I came in. Dr. Fohl is extremely honest with what needed to be done and you can tell it's not about the money with her... it's about you. Highly recommend her and her super pleasant staff to anyone in Frederick!!

I WOULD GIVE 0 STARTS BUT GOOGLE WOULDNT LET ME. I was pregnant going to see her. 1st time I went she gave me filings on 3 teeth but not the teeth that had the cavities on them. She gave me novacane and the place where she gave me novacane made the skin inside my mouth fall out. I went back for her to look to see what she did she told me I was fine. Then the 2nd time I went in she was drilling my tooth and drilled too much and half of my entire tooth broke off. (The tooth was perfectly healthy never had problems with it until she touched it) now I have pains in the tooth she broke all the time. It hurts so bad I get headaches every single day. NEVER GO TO HER UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR TEETH IN WORSE CONDITIONS THEN YOU WENT IN WITH!!!!!! Pictures attached are of my gum that came out from her using the novacane.
