Dr. Fredal was raised in Shelby Township, Michigan and graduated from Eisenhower High School. He attended the University of Michigan where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1982. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1986.
Dr. Fredal partakes in continuing education classes annually to remain up to date with the latest advances in dentistry. His main areas of interest include laser dentistry and CBCT guided placement of implants.
Dr. Fredal has attended the Misch International Implant Institute where hes obtained implant training. He is qualified to provide a wide array of implant options, including placement, bone grafting, and implant restorations.
Laser dentistry is one of the most advanced dental treatments today, and Dr. Fredal is a WaterLase Preferred Provider. WaterLase dentistry uses laser energy and a gentle spray of water to perform a wide range of dental procedures painlessly, often without the need for anesthesia.
My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Fredal for nearly thirty years and would never consider going to any other dentist. He and his staff have always treated us with friendliness and consideration.

My name is Jim Barriault. I grew up in Utica and have been going to the Fredal dentists since I was a child. Dr. Fredal is great! Never any issues, always friendly and prompt. The staff is wonderful! I am now retired and living in the UP, however I still drive down to see Dr. Fredal & staff.

Hadn't been to the dentist in more than a decade and they made feel comfortable and not embarrassed for neglecting my dental care for so long. They also took the time to call me when they had an appointment more than a week before my scheduled date, was nice get started sooner, thanks.

Dr. Fredal is hands down the best dentist I've ever been to. He actually makes going to the dentist enjoyable. He is kind, patient, and exercises lots of care in all that he does. For the past few years, I've been driving an hour from home to Fredal Dentistry and it is well worth the drive.

My son was in for a couple fillings. He is scared to death of needles/shots and the dentist was very aware of this. They tried to relax my son but when he started to have an anxiety attack the dentist grabbed his head under his arm and tried to force his mouth open and give him a shot. Squeezing and pulling on my sons head as my son started to scream in pain till I jumped up and pulled the dentist off my son and we left Immediately

Today was my first interaction at Dr Fredal's office in Utica, Michigan. As an oral healthcare provider, I can without reservation state this was a very thorough and friendly visit addressing all of my concerns. Dr Fredal and his staff's knowledge base was impressive. Specifically, prior to my appointment, I had a concern regarding an upper molar root canal that potentially needed to be retreated. Through his expertise and the use of the I-CAT 3 dimensional radiography technique he was able to explain that the lesion at the apex of root was not affecting the sinus at this time. At the same time he was able to discuss the process of a selecting the proper implant and bone modification if I should require such treatment in the future when and if needed. I highly recommend this team and congratulate them on their move to their new office in Shelby Township in the near future. Literally one of the best dentist I have ever had! He not only does great work but is extremely friendly and gentle unlike other dentist. He advises the best things possible instead of just doing whatever just to get the money. His staff is also just as great. From the front staff to assistants, all in all this office is the best I have ever been too and I would recommend anyone to definitely look into a consult. He's the best of the best!

Dr. Tom Fredal is a warm and friendly dentist who has created a team of professionals and all of them have become my friends. When I go, I look forward to a relaxing time especially with Renee as my hygienist. It is similar to a spa treatment...really. In the 1950's my parents took me to Tom's dad. I still have the fillings intact from Joe. Joe, Tom's dad, was a good dentist. Tom is a great dentist.
