Dr. Fred Schwendeman was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. He is a Board Certified Orthodontist who received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science at the University of Kentucky before completing dental school to attain his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) also at UK. He completed his orthodontic residency at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. He joined Dr. Ken Spain in practice in 1996, and they practiced together until 2001. Since that time Dr. Schwendeman has been in solo practice.
Dr. Schwendeman is a member of the 6th District Dental Society, which is a component of the Montana Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the Montana State Orthodontic Society. Dr. Schwendeman has been president of both the 6th District Dental Society and the Montana State Orthodontic Society.
Dr. Schwendeman is a dedicated husband and father of two. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Sarah, his son, Luke, and his daughter, Dakota. His hobbies include snow skiing, backpacking, camping, fishing and hunting.
