Dr. Shattuck is a native of The Region also known as northwest Indiana, but she spent much of her childhood in Heidelberg, Germany, and loves the culture, history and the amazing food there. She returned to Indiana and completed her undergraduate studies at DePauw University and received her B.A. degree in Biology in 1999. Knowing from the age of 5 that she wanted to be a dentist, she continued straight on to Indiana University School of Dentistry and graduated with her DDS degree in 2003. Upon graduation, she entered into a dental residency program at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin to further train and work in a hospital setting as a dentist. While she loved living and working in beautiful Madison, she decided to head south to the warmer climate of central Indiana.
After practicing in Indianapolis for 7 years, Dr. Shattuck joined Franklin Family Dentistry in 2011 as an owner and partner. She enjoys providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages, with a focus on preventive and restorative care. She will spend the time necessary to educate you and provide all of your treatment options. She has tremendous pride in creating beautiful smiles that patients are proud to show, and will provide care with the utmost attention to detail and a gentle touch.
Dr. Shattuck is married, and she and her husband Jared have two children, Carson and Sydney, and two Great Danes, Biggie Smalls and Gunner. In her free time, she enjoys watching her kids play soccer, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Hippenmeyer was born and raised in Greenwood, Indiana. She is a graduate of IU Bloomington where she majored in Biology as well as minored in Chemistry and Spanish. Following IU, Dr. Hippenmeyer completed a Masters in Biology at IUPUI. She then attended Indiana University School of Dentistry, where she received several awards for academics as well as clinical achievements. Dr. Hippenmeyer has been fortunate enough to treat patients both in the United States as well as abroad in Haiti.
Dr. Hippenmeyer first realized she wanted to be a dentistwhile on a mission trip in Nicaragua, where she was able to see the positive impact dentistry could have on people and how it could change lives. Dr. Hippenmeyer is committed to quality care for her patients and meeting all of their expectations. She prides herself in creating an environment that makes the patient feel comfortable and at ease in the dental chair. Dr. Hippenmeyer specializes in esthetic restorations and has a particular interest in dental implants.
She is happily married to her husband Jon. She has a son named Leo, and a furchild named Blue that she adores. Dr. Hippenmeyer is a huge Greenbay Packers fan and will eat pizza any time of the day, hot or cold. She loves traveling, meeting new people, and camping in the summers. She is looking forward to joining an awesome team here at Franklin Family Dental and is excited to meet our amazing patients!
Why dentistry? Dr. Young is called to care for others through the field of dentistry. After experiencing trauma to her mouth with the loss of several teeth during a high school field hockey accident, she went through seven years of dental visits and procedures. She feels blessed to have been provided with incredible dental care by compassionate and talented dentists. This care, her personal experience as a patient, and her passion for serving others drives her to be a dedicated compassionate dentist. Advanced Education To provide exceptional care to her patients, Dr. Young has dedicated years of additional training in advanced digital dentistry, same-day-crown technology, as well as implant placement and restoration.
Commitment to Lifelong Service While in dental school, Dr. Young committed time outside of studying to serve at a student-run free dental clinic Near Eastside of Indianapolis. Dr. Young continues the commitment to serve others and contribute to the future of dentistry as a part-time faculty member of the dental residency program at the VA Hospital. Additional Life Passions Outside of dentistry, Dr. Young enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, family, and friends. Their favorite activities are camping, hiking, and cycling.
