Continuing education is a huge priority at our practice. Dr. Frank completes approximately 100 hours a year of continuing education training, vastly exceeding the 20 hours a year recommended by state guidelines. He has earned his fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry and is currently in the process of receiving a fellowship at the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), the premier neuromuscular and cosmetic dentistry training institution in the country. Dr. Frank is also a clinical instructor for DNA Orthodontics, where he teaches other dentists how to use this revolutionary orthodontic technology.
Everyone at our office, including hygienists and assistants, receives extensive training on a yearly basis. The entire practice collectively spends more than 200 hours a year on continuing education training. This is a major part of our commitment to excellence, and it ensures that your treatments will be performed according to the latest and most advanced techniques in the field.
Our state-of-the-art Hoboken dental office provides excellent care in a comfortable environment. We use electric hand pieces which provide quieter, vibration-free treatment. We also employ a computerized delivery of anesthetic with a special wand, eliminating the use of needles in order to provide a more comfortable experience. While you are receiving your treatment, you can listen to your iPod or watch TV to make the time pass more enjoyably. Blankets and pillows will be provided for your comfort, and OraVerse is used to eliminate any unwanted lingering numbness affects following your procedure.
An artist and architect at heart, Dr. Frank DePaola knew that he possessed the innate talent to design and develop smiles that were not only beautiful, but also improved his patients overall oral health. Throughout his career, Dr. DePaola has developed a reputation for delivering exceptional quality dental restorations with an aesthetic sensibility.
Dr. Frank is a graduate of NYU College of Dentistry and completed a General Practice Residency through Mt. Sinai Hospital. He came to Hoboken as an associate in an area practice immediately following the completion of his dental education, and opened his own private office in March 2000. In 2010, Dr. Frank opened his new 4200 sq. ft facility, The Practice at Maxwell Place, which is also home to his pediatric practice, Childrens Dentistry of Hoboken.
A FELLOW of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Dr. Frank has completed numerous course work at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. This neuromuscular dentist has received state-of-the-art cosmetic, smile design,TMJ disorder, and Sleep Medicinetraining since 2003.
He is also a PREMIER-preferred Invisalign provider. He has extensive training and education in this field and is proud to also offer PROPEL Ortho which can accelerate treatment times for his invisalign case treatments. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Orthodontics (AACO).
He is also a proud member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). Additional cosmetic and neuromuscular affiliations include the IACA and ICCMO. He has extensive experience in the treatment of sleep apnea and is a member of the AASM, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the,AADSM, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. DePaola has taken numerous courses at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), the premier neuromuscular and cosmetic dentistry training institution in the country. His ongoing studies at LVI will ultimately culminate in the achievement of his LVIM mastership. This training enables Dr. DePaola to deliver the best dental healthcare for his patients.
Dr. DePaola received the Academy of General Dentistrys 2012 Fellowship Award during the AGD 2012 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. The Fellowship Award is presented to dentists who seek to provide the highest quality of dental care by remaining current in their profession. To accomplish this goal, Dr. DePaola completed over 500 hours of continuing dental education, passed a comprehensive examination, and has maintained membership in the AGD since 1999. Only 11% of all dentists have achieved this prestigious award.

Been there a couple times, great place. Very clean, friendly staff. Shay was amazing one of the best dental hygienist I've dealt with. Location is second to none, you have a beautiful view of Manhattan. Highly recommend .

Wow!!! Absolutely amazing dentist. The dental hygienist Shay (spelling?) was absolutely amazing. She was empathetic, sweet, explained everything, and really helped me put my best foot forward into taking ownership of my dental health. I would recommend this place to everyone and if I could give more than 5 stars I would :)

I love this dentist office. My hygienist is amazing and the Drs are great. I worked in the dental industry for 18 years so I'm always a bit skeptical, but every time I come here it exceeds my expectations. Good appointment times. Super friendly staff. They really do keep up to date on their technology and the projects they use (I know the brands well and they use all the good stuff!). I've been for two cleanings and one filling. Absolutely no issues with any of it at all, so glad I found them!!!

Dr. Alex, my hygienist, and other every person I interacted with at this practice was beyond excellent. Felt extremely taken care of when they crafted a personal care plan for my teeth without me even needing to ask. They do what needs to be done for you to be your healthiest. Go to them for any of your dental needs!

No comparison. I used to dread the dentist. Now, I actually enjoy going to this dentist office. All of the dentists are excellent. As an added bonus, it's just a gorgeous looking office and they play good music.

I could not be happier. Dr Frank was incredibly kind, sensitive to my specific needs and addressed everything in a timely manner. I seriously feared going to the dentist before I saw him, but now, I'd be happy to stop by anytime. Thanks man, you rock. You have positively changed my outlook on the whole profession.

Million thanks to Dr.Shahinian and his team.. I arrived at their Hoboken office with agonizing toothache. Fortunately, there was a cancellation and they accommodated to fit me in their tight schedule. Dr. Shahinian is the greatest dentist, I have ever interacted in my 40 years of life in USA. He takes all the time to explain what the problem is, what are various options to resolve, and will engage the Billing team to provide immediate estimates of each alternate procedure.. Best of all, to my utter surprise, I got a call that evening from their office, to check how I am doing after the dental procedure.. You should consider yourself lucky, if you get an appointment at their beautiful Hoboken office, especially when you're in intense pain :)
