We consider ourselves different from other dental offices because we love working with entire families, from little ones to grandparents. Another difference lies in the fact that we believe communication in the office is key.
We are Dr. ML Shayne and Dr. Howard Shayne (known around the office as Dr. ML and Dr. H). We opened Fox Grape Family Dentistry more than 25 years ago with the goal of creating a practice that catered to whole families from children to grandparents in a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
We think one of the greatest joys of being a dentist is turning a fearful dental patient into a confident one that actively seeks out dental care. We find happiness in watching young patients grow before our eyes, and building relationships with all patients has been an important part of our practice.
After graduating from Baylor College of Dentistry, we taught together at a dental school while working at separate private practices. Originally, we wanted to stay in education, but during a vacation to Springfield to visit a cousin, we fell in love with the area and soon found a great location to open a practice of our own.
Because of our love for learning, we always take it upon ourselves to go above and beyond professional requirements when furthering our education in the dental field. We are constantly looking to gain new knowledge in dentistry and use new technologies to make dental services easier for our patients.

Dr. ML was recommended to me because of her holistic dentistry. I really appreciate that, but also appreciate her thoroughness and the time she takes to answer questions and really get to the root of the problem. Kelly is also a wonderful hygienist, very attentive, thoughtful and kind. I have enjoyed my office visits.

Dr H and his staff replaced a crown that had failed. Manufactured the new crown while in chair. Very fast process. The new tooth looks better than the original.

I have had bad experiences with dental providers in the past so much so that i swore i would never go again. But my recent experience with Fox Grape was so refreshing, they were polite, explained everything, made me feel comfortable, and returned my confidence in dental care. I have always said that when you find a provider that you can trust, stay with them. I believe you can put your trust in Fox Grape.

Excellent dentist in the true self! Dr. ML Shayne is thorough in her comprehensive exam. She informs you of immediate concerns and what can be done. She works around your budget and makes you feel like you finally found a dentist that will help your teeth last a lifetime. They continue to educate and stay up to date with current technologies. The staff is friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. I have had several procedures done in the last two years and am very pleased with the results. My dog broke my front tooth last night ( jumped up and banged me in the mouth) I called the emergency number. And they responded right away. Fit me in first thing this morning..which was wonderful, as my grand daughter was graduating this afternoon!! They did a great job...and even called me back later in the evening to check and see if I was doing ok. Highly recommend these awesome folks!! 4/22 Been back to see Dr. M at fox grape several times since then. She's taken great care of me every time!! 6/22 Dr. M took out an old metal filling and put in a new ceramic one....very careful and I felt like they took every precaution. Great Doc!! 8/31/22 Marci cleaned my teeth and was very thorough and gentle!! Great dentist office!!
