Experienced and committed to the comfort of our patients, Dr. Dan Gustavson, takes the time to educate patients about their treatment options in order to help them choose the best dental care solution.
Dr. Gustavson, called either Dan or Dr. Dan by his patients, earned his BA in Biological Sciences from UC Davis, and his DDS and BS in Dental Science from UC San Francisco School of Dentistry. After completing his residency program at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington, DC, he set up practice in the Glen Park area of San Francisco. In the Fall of 2009, the Glen Park practice was sold and Dr. Dan and Dr. Mai-Ly moved to lovely Placer County, bringing their talents and skills with them!

Dr. Dan (most patients call him Dan or Dr. Dan) has many hobbies, including skiing, writing, tennis, backpacking, travel, and organizing the annual Glen Park Festival. Dr. Dan also owns several corporations dedicated to acquiring, remodeling and managing real estate.

Dr. Ramirez attended Arizona State University (ASU) for her undergraduate studies. She received her Bachelor of Science degree and Doctorate Degree in Dental Surgery from the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry. Dr. Ramirez completed post-graduate training in Advanced Cosmetics, Occlusion and Full Mouth Rehabilitation at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, the Kois Center in Seattle and the Spear Center in Scottsdale. Dr. Ramirez is also a premier provider for Invisalign and has been treating Invisalign Patients for 15 years.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with our new dentist Dr.Dan Gustafson and his crew at Fountains Dental Excellence. I don't think I've ever had such a thorough dental exam. Dr. Dan is excellent in explaining your dental issues and a plan to correct them. His dental hygienist Megan is a pleasure and very gentle when cleaning our teeth. All of his staff are very professional and competent. We are so happy to have found them.

The Fountains Dental Excellence is by far the best dental practice I've ever had work done on my teeth. Dr. Dan and the staff go above standard when it comes to friendliness and professionalism. I would recommend their practice to anyone looking for any kind of dental procedure.

Dr.Dan and his team are great! I used to be so scared to go to the dentist my anxiety would raise through the roof . The hygienist team always made me comfortable and offered me a warm weighted blanket and it helped so much! I have been going to the Fountains Dental Excellence for 4 years and now no longer need that warm blanket. Theresa and Jen Mandy and all the staff have all made me feel comfortable and truly showed they care and took their time to listen and make me comfortable. I love how happy they are when you walk into the office and welcome you. I highly recommend The Fountains Dental Excellence!

Front desk is super nice! However, the dentist there isn't good. There were so many issues I was back there multiple times for same issue to be fixed. Dentist was fixing 3 cavities and "ran out of time" to finish so he walks out and has his assistant finish the fillings. She was horrible! She busted my lip while trying to buff my front tooth smooth. After I repeatedly warned her that it kept skipping off my tooth and onto my lip. Then it hit my lip bad and she just said "oops" and kept going. On top of that, that tooth has been an issue ever since. I kept cutting my tongue on it. My tongue kept getting pinched and it was sharp like the edges between my teeth were a knife. Went in there 3 times, each time was an hour one way for me, and they made it worse each time. They just told me "just keep your tongue away from it and you should be fine" im sorry but do they think your tongue is something that doesn't belong in your mouth? I will always have this issue they caused and I'm furious! They were supposed to be a specialist for TMJ and that was the only reason I went to them. the dentist should have never walked out and had an assistant finish my filling. Very unprofessional! Now I will have to live with what they did to my tooth. I can feel it's thinner than my other tooth like she filed it too much after doing the filling

Fountains Dental Excellence truly puts the needs of its patients first - especially those who experience anxiety. Dr. Dan, Jen, Sterling, and the rest of the staff were amazing. Friendly and professional, taking the time in answering questions and learning to understand each patient's unique needs. I'm so grateful that they were recommended to us and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dental office with state of the art equipment along with the knowledge of how to treat people with dental issues that need extra care.

This office is hands down the best in Roseville! If I could give 10 stars I would. I've had bad experiences with dentists in the past and especially more so with my high anxiety and a horrible gag reflex. Everybody from Jen, (and the other young woman that I can't remember her name, I'm sorry if you're reading this! XD) at the front desk. To Dr. K, Deedee, Dr. Sterling and everybody in between has been nothing but welcoming and amazing to me. From day one they listened to every word I had to say, every bad experience I told them, and assured me that they will not repeat those bad memories. I'm beyond relieved that I finally found a dentist that truly cares for all of their patients. I will gladly recommend anyone to this office.

I'll begin my review by saying that my anxiety increases along with my blood pressure with ANY dental experience. This was my very first visit with Dr. Gustavson and his incredible staff since seeing my previous dentist before COVID-19 pandemic. Thanx to Jennifer Tidwell, she presented Fountains Dental Excellence and Dr. Gustavson to me over several years as an option to my current dentist. I finally listened to her and agreed to come. After today, I cannot imagine why I didn't go there sooner. From the ease of booking the initial consult to filling out required documents online prior to the visit, this typically stressful, anxiety filled experience was stress free. Mandi was amazing as she took about 18 x-rays, took some impressions and photos of my teeth, face and jaw. Clearly, she loves what she does and took great care of me. Thank you Mandi. Dr. Gustavson spent15 to 20 minutes with me answering my questions and taking the time to get to know me (the patient/customer). Imagine that? I have 20+ years in Healthcare delivery working with almost every specialty on the planet as a Medical Informaticist and as a patient. This was unique. This experience was World Class!Theresa handled my insurance questions, got essentially pre-approval for future treatments and quickly booked my next appointments with ease. My first visit was stress free, efficient, friendly and overall, amazing. Thank you!! See you all soon.
