At Fountainhead Dentistry, we strictly follow all safety and sterilization guidelines and recommendations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). In addition to our uniforms, we wear masks, gloves, and glasses during treatments. We use disposable, single-use items whenever possible. We clean and disinfect all surfaces in our treatment rooms after each patient has gone. Your safety is our priority.
If you feel anxious coming to our office, you are not alone. Many people suffer from some amount of dental anxiety. We designed our office to provide a relaxing atmosphere to help you remain calm and feel safe throughout your visit. You are welcome to try the stereo headsets and televisions in our treatment rooms to take your mind away from your stress. Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) is available if you need help to relax during treatment. Your comfort matters to us.
Dr. Allan Seidman has been serving the dental needs of the Tristate area for over 25 years. He received his Bachelors degree (Biology) in 1979 from the University of Maryland and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1983 also from the University of Maryland. Dr. Seidman completed a post-graduate Residency in General and Hospital Dentistry in 1984 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, and remained as a clinical faculty member for four years.
Since moving to Maryland in 1988, Dr. Seidman has concentrated his practice in the comprehensive treatment of adults He has attended numerous continuing education courses in such areas as endodontics, periodontics, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and oral pathology. Dr. Seidman is also a member of the Deans Faculty at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, instructing 3rd and 4th year dental students in clinical dentistry.
Dr. Lara Seidman was born in Hagerstown and graduated as Valedictorian from Smithsburg High School. She continued her education at University of Maryland, earning a bachelors degree, Summa Cum Laude, in Biology with a minor in Art History. Her father, Dr. Allan Seidman, has always been one of her greatest role models. She followed in his footsteps by pursuing a career in dentistry, graduating from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Summa Cum Laude. While in school, she published the following four articles in The Journal of General Dentistry about the intersection of dentistry and medicine:
Dr. Seidman is excited to join the practice after completing her post-graduate residency at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, at which she received advanced training in general dentistry, dental implants, pediatric dentistry, oral medicine, oral surgery, internal medicine, and dental oncology.
