Dr. Fortner earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at The University of Texas Dental School in San Antonio which has consistently been ranked as one of the top dental schools in the nation. He did his undergraduate work at West Texas State University and Texas Tech University.
Dr. Fortner has been providing quality dental care to families in Lubbock and the surrounding communities for the past 17 years. Dr. Fortner has recently built a state-of-the-art facility to ensure you and your family have the best of dental care using the most up-to-date techniques and materials. We strive to provide a warm and comfortable environment. Dr. Fortner's commitment to his patients and never-ending drive for excellence and integrity have contributed to his success.
Dr. Fortner is a member of the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association. He has held the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and served on several committees for The South Plains District Dental Society.
Outside the office, Dr. Fortner enjoys spending time with his wife Amy and their three daughters. He also enjoys participating in church activities, playing sports and hunting with his family and friends.

OMG! These people are amazing!! Let's be honest, no one loves to go to the dentist. I get all the nerves thinking about scheduling an appt little alone going. So, it had been a while since I've gone (gasp, maybe years, shhhhhhh, this is a no judgment zone ). But, I didn't need to worry one bit with this team. They were so kind and gentle. They were proud of me for just coming over in. I truly loved my experience and have decided this is MY dentist now. Thank you all so much for a great experience!

First time visit for me and I have to say there were many smiling faces at Fortner Dentistry. I had a pleasant experience and was treated with respect. The young dental assistant, Kim was a great and welcome help. I will recommend to all my family.

We needed immeadiate service for some dental needs and called several places advertising immeadiate/emergency dental care. Upon calling Fortner denistry I could immeadiately discern a different attitude and concern for our situation. Indeed we did receive same day care. As you know emergency dental care on demand is a tough bill to fill on most occassions. So I rate this office 5 stars. Thank you so much for attending us!

Dr. Fortner is absolutely amazing and has been for many years. The staff he has and many whom have been with him for many years speaks for itself and for him. The entire office is welcoming, kind, full of wonderful personalities and makes u feel so welcome and so comfortable. Dr Fortner and his Staff are professional and courteous. My Husband and I have been patients of Dr Fortner for over 10 years. The Ladies at the front desk greet you upon arrival and make sure the waiting room is comfortable. The Hygienists perform their duties appropriately. Dr Fortner has a gentle touch, which I most appreciate because I get very nervous about sitting in a dentist's chair! He will discuss his findings, share your x-rays with you and carefully line out his plan for your treatment. I've always been able to ask Dr Fortner questions about my treatments, which he takes the time to answer completely for me.
