Fort Family Dental is a locally owned and operated dental practice that has been providing outstanding dental services to residents of Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Whitewater, Cambridge and other surrounding communities since 1979. This Fort Atkinson dental clinic was originally opened by Dr. David Luisier, and later purchased by Dr. Sara Podoll. We are conveniently located at 715 Sherman Ave E, Fort Atkinson, WI 53538; right next to the Fort Atkinson Hospital.
Dr. Podoll received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Marquette University School of Dentistry. After graduation she was offered the opportunity to complete a highly sought after dental residency program at the Veterans Hospital in Portland, OR. She was honored to have the opportunity to work with those who had served our country, while advancing her dental education, skills, and techniques beyond that of what is taught in dental school.
After her residency at the Veterans Hospital, Dr. Podoll relocated back to Wisconsin and began working as a Family Dentist in the Chippewa Valley. It was here that she met her loving husband, Curt, and the two of them had their first child. Eventually they decided to move back to her husbands home town of Fort Atkinson, to raise their children around family they love.
Hi my name is Renee. My career in the dental field began many years ago as a dental assistant. I started working for Fort Family Dental in 2014 as a front desk receptionist. The best part of my job for me is being the first contact for the patients when they come in and the last when they leave; a friendly hello and a warm goodbye.
My husband and I live in Janesville. We are blessed to have two grown children, a daughter and a son, and three grandchildren whom I refer to as my little nuggets. My greatest joy in life is to spend time with all of them.
Hello, my name is Jill and I have been a Dental Hygienist with Fort Family Dental for 25 years. I have been blessed to work in the same city I was born and raised in. I love getting to know my patients, and enjoy helping them achieve the dental health they desire. In addition, I highly value the family-like personal relationships Ive established through the years. In my free time I enjoy camping and traveling with my husband and 2 sons.
Hi my name is Kim Ley. I am a mother of two children, Kirsten and Logan. My husband Lyle and I raised our children on a farm just outside of Fort Atkinson. We have enjoyed raising horses, Labradors and sharing our knowledge for horses, dogs, hunting and the outdoors with our children, and many others. Trail riding and showing horses are my favorite past times.
I have been in the dental industry for 30+ years. I started as a dental assistant, while I was continuing my education as a Dental Hygienist. I have been a part of the Fort Family Dental team for over 20 years. My passion in the industry has grown as I take continuing education courses, allowing me to give the best care to my patients.
Hello, my name is Katie. In May of 2019, I graduated from Madison College with a degree in Dental Hygiene and certification to administer local anesthetic. After graduation, I joined the Fort Family Dental Team. Having been a patient here my whole life, this opportunity was particularly exciting for me. Working alongside the staff and meeting all of our wonderful patients has been a rewarding experience to say the least. As a dental hygienist, my focus is to provide high quality care and a positive dental experience, while educating patients to maintain healthy hygiene habits. I look forward to meeting you and helping you implement habits that will help you get the smile you have always wanted!
When Im not practicing dental hygiene, you can find me spending time with my family and friends, which includes my fur babies- a horse named Trixter, and a dog named Stella, hiking, sightseeing, or doing anything outdoors.
I was born, raised and currently reside in Janesville, WI. I was stationed at Yuma Az while serving in the United States Marine Corps. After coming home from the service, I attended UW Rock County earning my Associates of Arts and Science in 2011. I graduated from MATC Dental Assisting program in 2015. I spent a few years serving Jefferson County residents and leading the Jefferson County Seal a Smile program at the Community Clinic before finding my home at Fort Family Dental.
My son was born in 2010 and is the light of my life. We enjoy swimming, road trips, concerts, outdoor activities and spending time with each other. We have two cats we snuggle at home, and love to meet any and all animals we can! When I am not enjoying everything life has to offer with my son, I enjoy spending my time painting and working for a heavy metal band from Southern Wisco.

I have been a patient here since I moved to Fort Atkinson 30 years ago. The experience is always good. All four of my kids have had great experiences here as well. The personal service is excellent from cleaning teeth to braces and retainer checks to setting up appointments! Thank you!

Fort Family dental is a great dental office, the staff is very friendly and the office itself is very clean. I have always been treated fairly and with respect. I have always had good experiences. Overall I am very pleased with their services and would recommend them to anyone.

I'm very pleased with my visits at Fort Family Dental. Scheduling is easy and very accommodating. My hygienist, Jill, is top notch. She does a very thorough job, answers my questions and offers suggestions and advice for my concerns. Dr. Podoll is very professional as well. She closely monitors how my teeth are doing and also offers suggestions for improving my oral health.

I wish I could give a 5 star rating like everyone else. Katy was very pleasant and professional. My problem is with their misleading comments to me. I specifically asked if they took my dental insurance for complete coverage and payment which they said they did. They did not say they canceled their "in network" contract in Jan.'22 so are now an " out of network" provider leaving me paying 43% of bill out of pocket. My follow up work was to cost about $3k. With my 42% share being about $1,260. A fact they were not forthcoming with. My insurance carrier directed me to a real in network provider who does great work and at the covered rates with no out of pocket expense.

I've been going to this clinic for over 20 years. Dr. Podoll took over for Dr. Luisier and I have been pleased with her dental care. The staff is friendly and professional, the clinic is clean and I always feel well informed. I got a filling today, Dr. Podoll and her hygienist were on time and made me as comfortable as possible.

I have been a patient at Fort Family Dental since I was a toddler and Kim has been my hygienist for as long as I can remember! When it was time for me to get my own insurance I had the option of going to a new dentist, but I chose to stay with Kim and Fort Family Dental because they have always been so good to me. Kim answers all of my questions without judgement and makes me feel very comfortable. The appointments never feel rushed and Kim does a very thorough cleaning. I love how my mouth feels after leaving here!

I've been a patient at Fort Family Dental for over 10 years. Kim has always done my cleanings and does great work. I love getting updates on her and her family when I come in, as well as how her horses are doing. I almost forget I'm even at a dentist office. Dr. Podoll is great as well. She is very knowledgeable and it is easy to see that she loves what she does.
