Our doctors are highly trained and our facility is equipped with operating microscopes. Magnification and fiber optic illumination are invaluable tools that assist us in performing the highly technical aspects of endodontic treatment.
Our treatment areas are equipped with sophisticated ultrasonic units that are used to remove posts and metal instruments, as well as aid in the search for calcified canals. These units are also used to prepare the fine structure of the root-end for a retrograde filling when microsurgical intervention is indicated. The diamond coated microscopic tips vibrate up to 30,000 cycles per second to ensure precise and efficient preparation.
The cleaning and shaping of the root canal is aided by the use of metal instruments made of a unique alloy of nickel-titanium. We use both hand and rotary instruments along with liquid antimicrobial agents to help remove bacteria and tissue and to achieve the highest level of disinfection.
Bacterial infections are best treated with antibiotics that are specific for the germs that cause the infection.Bacterial samples are taken to identify with clarity the nature of the patient's infection and to ensure the proper use of therapeutic antibiotics.
A hydrophilic ceramic material that is a relatively new advancement in endodontic treatment. Our doctors use MTA for pulp capping, resorption repairs, perforation repairs, root-end filling during surgical treatment, and apical plug during apexification. Current literature supports its use as a biocompatible material with excellent resistance to leakage.
Our office is equipped with highly sophisticated digital x-ray imaging in each treatment area.These units provide an immediate image of the tooth during treatment while dramatically reducing the amount of patient exposure to radiation. The digital radiograph will allow doctors to store the image and/or send it electronically to your dentist or your insurance company.
Our doctors have been specially trained and licensed to provide treatment for the control of anxiety for those patients requiring this assistance.Our facility is equipped for the appropriate and safe use of these agents. We are also affiliated with fellow professionals to administer deeper levels of sedation as necessary.

Little did I know that one of my teeth would be so difficult to diagnose. It's not that a dying nerve or need for a root canal wasn't suspected from the get go. But when you go to Dr. Sun at FBES you can be assured that the diagnosis you receive will be made with the utmost care. I had no idea that Dr. Sun's office had a 360 degree CT Scanner that produces the detail and imaging the Doctor needed in less than a few minutes. Once my diagnosis was confirmed Dr. Sun briefed me with a chair side consultation. I had an older crown on a tooth that over time was at a bit of an angle. (So? And? I thought to myself, "that's why I came to see you.'). I thought of making the analogy to horizontal drilling in the oil and gas field, but that might be overstating it a little. Lucky for me, my Dentist had been there before, and with an experienced hand and an assistant that anticipated and followed Dr. Sun's precision work in detail, I left the office a very happy patient! (I know, who says that!). If your family dentist hasn't already told you to see Dr. Sun, I suggest that you will be given excellent care in this office. Bob McD

The whole office staff and Dr Kevin Izu were all very friendly. They were clear about everything and answered my questions. I had a 2 hour procedure. They made sure I was comfortable the whole time I was there.

Most professional medical office I"ve been too ever! Front desk is efficient and fast! Dr Kevin Izu is an amazing Endodontist. I was in the most capable, experienced, knowledgeable hands as Dr. Izu worked to save a tooth of mine for a year. We succeeded and no implant is necessary at this time. His chair assistant is amazing and professional! Highly recommend Dr. Izu.

Even though I had a painful procedure....I didn't feel anything because Dr.Izu and his dental assistant had the BEST attitudes ever! I'd go back and have dental surgery AGAIN!!! The ladies at the front desk took care of me as well and they even checked up on me. I definitely recommend this office for your next dental appointment. They are all Specialist in Customer Service!

I was apprehensive of even the thought of a root canal, but after searching high and low and reading everything I could, I decided to go with Fort Bend Endodontic Specialists with Dr. Craig M Curd. I am thrilled with how I am feeling. I had the surgery this last Monday and from the moment I walked in, I was put at ease from Leslie at the front desk, Chris who prepped me and then with Dr. Curd. I asked him so many questions and I know he sensed my anxiety. He was over the top helpful in answering all my questions. Once the procedure started, he walked me through it as he was progressing in the process. I felt at ease and it was over in less than one hour. I have already recommended him to someone at our church. I highly recommend Dr. Curd and his staff.
