Dr. Matt Forster received his undergraduate education from Union College, earning a degree in biology with honors distinction. He then entered dental school at the University of Pennsylvania with a full scholarship from the United States Navy. He graduated at the top of his class for which he received many rewards, including the Matthew Cryer Award, Best Clinical Dentist Award and election by the faculty into the National OKU Dental Honor Society.
He then was selected for an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program in the Navy and served two years forward deployed onboard USS Ponce (LPD-15) as Chief Dental Officer and department head.
Following active duty, Dr. Forster returned to the University of Pennsylvania for a residency program in orthodontics. During his residency, he was awarded the clinical research award and publication in the international European Journal of Orthodontics.
Dr. Forster specializes in orthodontic treatment for children, teens and adults. His patients benefit from receiving the latest orthodontic technology on the market.He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the American Dental Association, American Cleft Lip and Palate Association, Rhode Island Dental Association, Rhode Island Association of Orthodontists and past president of the Newport County Dental Society.
Dr. Forster lives in Aquidneck Island with his wife, Meredith, and their three beautiful daughters. They all enjoy outdoor activities, especially the beach, boating and cycling, and spending time giving back to the community!

Dr. Forsters treatment plan is customized to each patients need and through constant, gentle forces and carefully controlled directions, braces slowly move teeth to their correct position.
Orthodontic treatment isnt what it used to be! You choose between several options of types of brackets and colors of your appliances. The latest materials are designed to move teeth faster and with more comfort.
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on age, treatment method, and the complexity of your case. Believe it or not you are a big factor in a successful treatment! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also ensure a quicker treatment time.

It was very quick and painless. I think it was very helpful for Dean to have every step explained to him before it happened. He seemed fine during the whole experience.

Organized and professional, but even better ,warm and so so welcoming. Smiles and kindness seem to be the hallmarks here. If you can look forward to having braces, this is the place that might make that happen. Kudos. Worth traveling to get to.

Dr Forster and his staff are all wonderful. They are all nice, courteous, and attentive to their patients. The office is always clean and inviting and I have never had to wait for more than 10-15 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time.

Dr. Forster is absolutely the best and his staff as well! Both of my kids had an unusually long orthodontic journey, and throughout everyone has been kind, compassionate and accommodating. Dr. Forster has shown extraordinary kindness and patience while treating my special needs son. I can't really express how much that has been appreciated. Through community service I have much contact with young local families and I always refer to Dr. Forster!
