Dr. Matt Forster received his undergraduate education from Union College, earning a degree in biology with honors distinction. He then entered dental school at the University of Pennsylvania with a full scholarship from the United States Navy. He graduated at the top of his class for which he received many rewards, including the Matthew Cryer Award, Best Clinical Dentist Award and election by the faculty into the National OKU Dental Honor Society.
He then was selected for an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program in the Navy and served two years forward deployed onboard USS Ponce (LPD-15) as Chief Dental Officer and department head.
Following active duty, Dr. Forster returned to the University of Pennsylvania for a residency program in orthodontics. During his residency, he was awarded the clinical research award and publication in the international European Journal of Orthodontics.
Dr. Forster specializes in orthodontic treatment for children, teens and adults. His patients benefit from receiving the latest orthodontic technology on the market.He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the American Dental Association, American Cleft Lip and Palate Association, Rhode Island Dental Association, Rhode Island Association of Orthodontists and past president of the Newport County Dental Society.
Dr. Forster lives in Aquidneck Island with his wife, Meredith, and their three beautiful daughters. They all enjoy outdoor activities, especially the beach, boating and cycling, and spending time giving back to the community!

Dr. Forsters treatment plan is customized to each patients need and through constant, gentle forces and carefully controlled directions, braces slowly move teeth to their correct position.
Orthodontic treatment isnt what it used to be! You choose between several options of types of brackets and colors of your appliances. The latest materials are designed to move teeth faster and with more comfort.
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on age, treatment method, and the complexity of your case. Believe it or not you are a big factor in a successful treatment! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also ensure a quicker treatment time.

We love this office! The staff and Dr. Forster are absolutely great. They are kind, caring and patient. They are also so responsive to any questions or calls. I would highly recommend them for all orthodontic care.

This practice is amazing! They are very easy to make an appointment with, send timely reminders, and are seen at the moment of your appointment time. The staff are polite, courteous and very professional. There's no pressure to move forward with having any orthodontic work, I cannot say enough good things!

Courteous and professional staff. Super clean office. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone needing orthodontic care. UPDATE: It has been about four months now with Doctor Forster. The doctor along with his staff continue to be some of the nicest people I have ever met. I held off for many years due to expense and time. Looking back I wish I hadn't. His payment plan and schedule is accommodating to almost everyone's needs. I continue to recommend Forster Orthopedics.

Carolyn and DrF were fantastic! They spent quality time with me and explained everthey were doing, everything they were seeing and gave me all the options at the monent. They answered my questions and put me at ease. A very thorough treatment. The receptionists were friendly and the appt was on time!

This is our second ortho office as a family and it is like night and day going to this office in comparison to our last. Staff always pleasant, punctual and thorough. I also love how much they respect and interact with the kids, making sure they understand and feel comfortable.

We are fairly new to this office (military) but have loved our visits here. My son is very comfortable every time he has an appointment and the staff is very nice and accommodating. Dr Forster is very thorough and easy to talk to as well. So glad that we found this practice!

Staff are so polite and always helpful. Kids never moan about going to the ortho! We have had many conversations with the team over the years with our three children going through various stages of braces etc, I have never felt pressured into unnecessary work, the staff are honest and supportive of our needs and finances. Would highly recommend Dr Forster and his team.
