Dr. Mark Forrest —- Periodontist/Implant Surgeon - Periodontist in Pembroke Pines, FL

We are very proud of the relationships that have been established with our patients. The dentists and staff at Mark Forrest, D.M.D. are focused on maintaining your trust and confidence. We are especially honored that our patients have referred so many of their friends and relatives to our practice. We look forward to making lasting relationships with every patient we treat.

A periodontist is a dentist who has become a specialist in diagnosing and treating diseases of the gum and bone that support the teeth. A periodontist also specializes in the placement of dental implants. After completing four years of dental school, there is an additional three years of specialty training. Dr. Forrest continues to update his knowledge each year by taking additional courses at dental universities and professional meetings.

It is our mission to help our patients enjoy beautiful smiles that are both natural-looking and long-lasting. Through a customized combination of preventative, restorative and cosmetic procedures that use the latest state-of-the-art technologies, our patients are able to smile and laugh with confidence. We know that cutting-edge equipment and advanced training isn't the only indication of true dental care, and we are proud to offer each of our patients personal attention in a warm, comfortable and confidential atmosphere.

We hold ourselves to a high standard of excellence. This includes every aspect of our practice, from the dental care we provide to the equipment we use to the health and safety protocols we follow to the incidental services we offer, such as being available to our patients during dental emergencies. Above all, our aim is to provide each of our patients with healthy teeth and gums and beautiful smiles throughout their lives.

Dr. Forrest has completed extensive education and clinical training in comprehensive dental care as well as specialized training in his area of expertise. He holds memberships and fellowships in many professional dental organizations. Driven to constantly improve his knowledge and the services he provides, he frequently attends conferences and society meetings to learn about the latest advancements in the field so that he can offer these new techniques and technologies to his patients. In all of these ways and more, we are able to provide our patients with the highest quality dental care.

Dr. Forrest is the primary part of our periodontal team, but our hygienists, assistants and front office play significant roles. Coordinating these team members schedules can be a challenge, but you are guaranteed an excellent outcome.

Preventive care is an essential part of ensuring good oral health. With that in mind, we make sure to include an array of routine preventive services in our comprehensive patient exams. These include:

We also take in-depth medical histories from each of our patients when they come to our office. This helps us to better understand our patients' current health, predict what problems might develop in the future, and keep track of any medications they are taking that may impact their dental health.

Most people want to keep their own natural teeth all of their lives. They also want (or must have) low dental bills while keeping their teeth attractive and comfortable. Plans, well-made today, can make this possible.

A key part of preventing dental problems is being aware of how they can develop. We strongly believe that patient education is an important part of the services we provide. In addition to talking with our patients during their exams, we have a ready supply of patient education materials such as brochures and information sheets in our office. We encourage our patients to read about dental diseases and ask us questions about how to stay healthy.

During my experience of having an implant done by Dr. Forrest, he was very friendly and professional at all times. He always had good conversation and explained the procedure in detail throughout the process. Everything was done in a precise and timely manner. I am very pleased with the outcome. I would recommend him to family and friends.

Dr. Forrest and his staff are caring, compassionate and professional. After a string of unpleasant experiences, Dr. Forrest and his staff have renewed my faith in the dental profession. I highly recommend him for any services he offers.

I have been a patient of Dr. Forrest for over 15 yrs. And have never been given a reason to be unhappy about the care I received. I was recently in need of gum surgery, which I was dreading but again everything went quickly and painlessly. Dr. Forrest and his staff have always treated me with great care and respect, from the ladies at the front desk to the Dental Hygienist. Llisa is a very calming and competent assistant. I have confidence in Dr. Forrest and his staff and highly recommend them.

I was highly recommended to Dr. Forrest by my sister-in-law who had an implant done. . I was told by a dentist that I needed to have an implant and that a root canal would not be advisable for that tooth. Dr. Forrest said he disagreed with my previous endodontist and referred me to an excellent endodontist who saved that tooth. This is a great example of a doctor putting the patients best interest first. Thanks Dr. Forrest!

I had been going to Dr. Forest for multiple years and have felt that his office was always trying to up sell me which I've accepted because I have come to find it standard of doctor's offices to try and do that. However, lately my experiences have not been the best. On my last visit I went in for a routine visit and after telling the staff multiple times over previous visits that I did not want a certain part of that procedure because my insurance does not cover it, they went ahead and gave it to me anyway and billed me for it. I then called the office and explained the situation and if anything could be done for it and they told me that they would reach out back to me. Then a week had past and no one had reached out to me. I then called back again and explained the situation. They again told me that they would get back to me. From there, I received a phone call back later in the day from the staff stating that the Dr. Forrest said that he had already helped me out in regards to billing of other services from that day because my insurance didn't cover it. Which was a not true because my insurance did cover it. After telling the staff that, she was mistaken and my insurance did cover it, she said that there was nothing they could do and I would have to pay for the service I had requested not to receive. I told her that I felt it was unfair and that if I was to be treated this way I would have to find a new periodontist and she rudely hung up the phone.

About 7 years ago, I needed an implant. I got the word That Dr. Mark Forrest was the best, and explored that option. At that time, I was seeing a high end Russian Dentist who recommended him. My husband was seeing a more local Dr. Dr. David Peretz cosmetic and general dentistry, who I love, and He mentioned Dr. Forrest as well. Before I left the Russian Dentist, whose wife is also a dentist, I mentioned to her all the ads for 'clear choice' and cheaper implant technology that is often advertised in the newspaper. Like for example the technology where you have teeth pulled and walk out of there with a full set of permanent implants. For a lot less money. Tens of thousands of dollars less. This dentist from Russia told me that the less xpensive ones can become nightmares later on, like if they break, or fail. I decided I didn't want to find out. Besides, I only needed one implant at the time, and had someone who wanted to pay for me to have the best. So I chose the best. The whole project might have taken a year. Slowdowns had something to do with available funds when it became time for procedures, so I had to reschedule stuff as my budget allowed. They were cool. Despite my complications as a high-maintenance bipolar patient with a Parkinson's-like movement disorder, an immune system unable to fight post op infection severe post op ER level pain, once we got through the healing process and Dr. Forrest determined it was time to got the implants crowned with teeth I'd be able to chew with, I was surprised at one extra fee, but in the years since, I've never ever regretted that investment, and this year, when I needed four implants, I once again have turned to Dr. Forrest. I had a lot of complications and pain after implant surgery and am not sure why, since the receptionist wasn't able to give me a followup to be evaluated. She shut me down. I almost went to the ER for a wide spectrum antibiotic. We switched to Clyndamycin and in three weeks, I was off pain medicine. Part of that was my fault. I used ice for too long. You are supposed to switch to heat right way. A patient with psych, Parkinson's like movement jerkiness, and a compromised immune system is a pain in the ass to treat. I credit Dr. Forrest or being willing to take on that service. I value their time and I hope that if I need him again, he will say 'yes.' That's how much I think of his work. I think that the implant I have from 2010 is built so well, and the ones I'm getting now, are built with such sound knowledge and principles that it will outlive me. I have one more implant surgery to go. After the post op period and healing is over, we are home free. He does really really good work. To compromise to save money could end cost you more money in the long run being painful and dangerous to your general health besides. I have to tell myself over and over that this type thing happens in all walks of life, even the doctor's and dentist's office and I hope that the reader will realize that this is a top notch office, simply the best. If I was in LA (which I was) and New York (where I also worked) there just aren't any better. I'll take the small amount of hurt feelings with the overall warmth, cordiality, humor, knowledge, experience and service of Dr. Mark Forrest.
