To earn his Doctorate of Dental Science degree, Dr. Chang graduated from NYU College of Dentistry in 2011 and continued his training by seeking certification in Invisalign and dental implant placement and restoration in order to deliver quality, comprehensive services to his patients. He also attended DOCS Education to receive certification in Oral Conscious Sedation for Adult Patients in 2015.
Dr. Chang values being able to contribute to his community by educating patients and making a positive impact on their oral health. He approaches both small cases and full-mouth cases with the same philosophy offering the best dental treatment available so patients can have healthy, confident smiles.
Growing up, Dr. Chang spent most of his youth in Laguna Hills, attending Laguna Hills High School, and then to the University of California at Irvine before heading to New York to attend NYU. He then returned to Orange County and has recently started his own dental practice, Formosa Dental Arts, and is ready to make a difference in his community!

Dr. Cheng has been my dentist for more than 5 years. I've never once had a concern about cleanliness! The front desk staff has stayed the same and I've only had two different dental hygienists this whole time. Dr. Cheng has never once pushed or promoted unnecessary procedures, which I really appreciate. He is attentive when you ask a question or express a concern. When doing dental work, Dr. Cheng is steady and precise but not invasive and overpowering. I've been an insurance patient this entire time but for those who are paying out of pocket for dental expenses, I would trust Dr. Cheng for a fair assessment. He also speaks fluent mandarin. He's worked collaboratively with my orthodontist this last three years while I underwent braces. Appointments run on time too!

Great to work with, very thorough to walk me through what I needed to get done to resolve tooth pain. They offer their own insurance plan that is easy to work with.

Dr Chang is the best dentist I have had in my life. I am very sensitive with my teeth and he always takes the time to make sure I am not in pain which removes a lot of the dread associated with having to go to the dentist. He breaks down cost in a simple way so you understand what's going on. Lastly whenever I go there, everyone seems to be in a good mood from the front desk to the assistants.

As the son of a dentist, I grew up in a dental office and have a very high standard for care; I have struggled throughout adulthood to find a great dentist. Not anymore! Formosa Dental arts does great, gentle work and has a lot of technology to up their game. Dr Michael Liu in particular is fantastic. So happy to be a patient here!

I have been a patient of Dr. Chang's since 2019 and have never had to look up another dentist ever again. He's a phenomenal dentist (imo prob the best in Orange County) with the best bedside manner. He's patient, understanding and always takes his time to explain all procedures. I feel so comfortable going to him because I know he will never ever do unnecessary procedures or push me to get any work done that's not needed at that time or beneficial to me. He treats his patients like his family. My sister is also a patient of his and I say that to say I would never recommend anyone that I won't send my family to. LETS NOT FORGET TO MENTION how incredibly intelligent he is and always up to date with new information. If you've been looking to change your dentist and looking for someone smart and honest, look no further! Also, his staffs skills and customer service are top notch. Everyone is so friendly and happy, and that just speaks to the positive work culture of this practice. I look forward to seeing my dental hygienist Rosa and front office manager Allison every 6 months. I'm always greeted with smiling faces. Honestly could not ask more for my dentist visits.

Excellent dentist and hyginist, professional and well experienced. I like the most is their communication through out the entire treatment. I was well prepared mentally of what to expect. I have many good dentist in the past, this office is definitely on the top! My husbanded visited a wee earlier, he echoes the same. Thank you Dr. Chang and Rose.

Dr Chang and his team are amazing. I've been a patient of Dr Chang for about 6 years and have never had an issue with his work. He's skilled, thoughtful, and very considerate. I'm a pretty anxious patient at the Dentist so I know it's hard to work with me but he really takes the extra time to explain things to me and use techniques that help me feel more comfortable. I can't say enough good things about him. I recommend him to all my family and friends.

Great experience! Appreciated Dr. Chang, Rosa and the staff. They were all very helpful and following covid protocol. There was only two patients at a time and we were distant. Also Dr. Chang and Rosa were very thorough. I will definitely be coming back.

Dr. Chang is the best dentist I have ever met. The level of care, explanation, detail, and unparalleled customer service is truly exceptional. His staff, including Allison, are incredibly professional and nice. Also, despite doing a deep cleaning and extracting a baby wisdom tooth, I felt no pain (just a mild pinch). I was bummed when I found out they are no longer taking HMOs but was delighted to find out that they offered their own (cheaper) insurance plan with lower co-pays than my Delta insurance. I signed myself up, my wife, my brother, and my mom for only $400 a year - that's a $272 savings. I'm also looking to sign up my in-laws if they don't have dental insurance. I will refer all of my friends, family, and clients to Formosa! I love this place and this is coming from someone that avoids the dentist like the plague.
