At Forever Young Dentistry, we offer you a number of elite services that your whole family can use to improve their smiles! Some of those service options that are featured by Dr. Michael Young and his experienced staff include Invisalign clear braces, same-day crowns, and dental implants. All three of these options are very different from one another and take part in creating the diverse dental atmosphere that we have to offer in Sterling, MI!
If you are looking for an orthodontic treatment option that is different from the traditional metal braces that dominated orthodontics for decades, Invisalign is an excellent choice. Invisalign uses a set of aligners that resemble retainers to straighten your teeth without those pesky brackets and wires that come along with traditional metal braces.
Perhaps the biggest advantage outside of the aligners being clear and hard to see is that Invisalign clear braces are removable. This is a huge benefit when you are doing things like eating and cleaning your teeth. Even though you can remove them, you must make sure that you wear them at least 22 hours a day.
Something unique that we offer at Forever Young Dentistry is Planmeca Fit System same-day crowns to put porcelain caps on damaged teeth. The Planmeca Fit System is the only system of its type in the world and it is capable of producing quality crowns that can be placed in just one visit to our Sterling Heights office! More importantly, your damaged tooth that is suffering from decay or other trauma will now have a porcelain cap over it that will give your smile a great appearance and functionality.
If you are missing teeth, there is no better option for tooth replacement than dental implants. Implants are the best option because they not only replace missing teeth to make your smile beautiful again, but they also replace your teeths roots to ensure that you dont suffer from bone and tissue loss. Improve your smile and your oral health today by investing in dental implants at Forever Young Dentistry!
Dr. Young was born in Saginaw, MI. His passion in dentistry is making a difference in the lives of his patients through improving their health or smile. He attended Michigan State University for undergraduate studies in biology and graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1994.
Dr. Young feels its critical that he continuously improve his skills and knowledge, so he takes a considerable amount of continuing education. He completed the continuum at the Kois Center for Advanced Dental Learning and has been a mentor for the Center since 2005. He also completed a mini-residency in dental implants from Nobel Biocare in 2008.
I was fortunate enough to be introduced to my mentor back in 2001, and his name is Dr. John Kois. He's a phenomenal man, a phenomenal teacher. He changed my life, he changed basically everything I learned about dentistry. I attended all of his classes in Seattle and I still attend an annual symposium once a year. That's where I get most of my continuing education. I've also done a mini-residency in implants and lots of other leadership continuing education over the years. But, I think that it's very important to keep learning and always trying to be better than what we are. The annual symposium in Seattle, for me, not only do I learn about dentistry, but I learn about people and that component. I've had great education. I've had great teachers and great mentors.
Dr. Young lives in Shelby Townshipwith his wife Cheryl, his three children, and his three step-children. When he isnt working, he enjoys participating in long distance endurance events such as triathlons and marathons to raise money for his favorite charity, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He enjoys playing the drums, sports, and landscape photography. He adores spending time with his children most of all, and especially appreciates watching them participate in sports.
I have a wonderful team. I get a lot of compliments. If you look at what people say about us, theyre often mentioning the staff. You have surround yourself with good people. It doesnt matter if my dentistry is the best dentistry if youre not treated well by the person answering the phone or youre not treated well by the person checking you out, whose handling your insurance. Its not a place you want to be so I realize that and I have an amazing team. The best team Ive ever had. We have a lot of fun. We could get very stressed out about it. People come in to us with pain and stress. We try to have a relaxing, fun atmosphere, lighthearted at the same time, while were doing excellent work. I wouldnt trade any of them in, wouldnt let any of them go.
Dr. Youngs team consists of two full-time administrative employees, two full-time assistants, two full-time hygienists, and two part-time hygienists. Each and every member of our staff loves what they do, and they take great care in every single patient they see.
Our team is favorably reviewed on rateadentist.com, and we believe that it is justified. One thing that our patients will notice is that we like to goof around while at the same time taking the job that we love very seriously!

Bob knew that he needed a quick solution, and he worried that a filling might not cut it. He started doing some research, and he realized there was a good chance that he might need a dental crown instead.
As Bob learned, it really can take weeks to get a dental crown at many dentist offices. Somewhere else, the dentist will make an impression that will be sent to an outside laboratory, which may not be able to make the crown for weeks. It depends on how manyother orders came in before Bobs.
At another office, Bob would get a temporary crown, which isnt as strong or as secure as a permanent one. Bob also would have to make a second trip to the dentist when his real dental crown was finished.
The Bob from our story may not be a real patient, but his situation is possible. We have helped many patients get same-day crowns at our dentist office in Sterling Heights, MI, thanks to the Planmeca Fit System.
More than likely, you will try to avoid biting or chew with that part of your mouth, which can work as a short-term solution. The problem with that is you end up causing more wear and tear to teeth in another part of your mouth. This increases the chances that they will develop problems later.
Eating becomes even more difficult. If you are missing teeth are all in the front of your mouth, biting into something may become too difficult. This could result in you giving up some of your favorite foods.
That was before modern dental implants were invented. Today, we can replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or a whole role of teeth by combining implants with dental crowns, dental bridges, and dentures.
Implants add strength and stability to the replacements for the missing crowns of your teeth. This means you have the closest thing to a complete tooth replacement next to regrowing your tooth (which, unfortunately, is not something that people can do).
Consider a person with traditional dentures. This rest over his or her gums. As long as they stay in place (which we all know they dont always do), dentures can give you the appearance of a complete smile.
Weve seen how dental implants have changed the lives of our patients at Forever Young Dentistry. To experience this change for yourself, contact our dentist office if you live in or near Sterling Heights, MI.
